VISIBLE LIGHT PROGRAMMING OF DAYLIGHT SENSORS AND OTHER LIGHTING CONTROL DEVICES
A lighting control system includes a daylight sensor configured to receive visible light control signals to set or adjust one or more parameters of the daylight sensor including, e.g., a set point (i.e., an acceptable lighting level). The lighting control system also includes a non-transitory computer program product that includes programming instructions that may be downloaded to, e.g., a mobile device and/or may be executed by a processor or like device. The programming instructions may be configured to provide a user interface related to the daylight sensor, receive via the user interface one or more user inputs related to the daylight sensor, and modulate a light output of a light source to transmit visible light control signals corresponding to the received one or more user inputs. Methods of programming a daylight sensor with visible light control signals are also provided, as are other aspects.
Real-Time Video Delivery for Connected Home Applications
Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to real-time video delivery for connected home (CH) applications. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies, a CH controller (CHC) can receive a request for delivery of a video stream captured by a CH video camera to a user device. The CHC can determine availability of a wireline communications link to a wireline network and availability of a wireless communications link to a wireless network over which to deliver the video stream to the user device. In response to determining that the wireline communications link and the wireless communications link are available, the CHC can obtain a wireline performance measurement for the wireline communications link, obtain a wireless performance measurement for the wireline communications link, compare the wireline performance measurement and the wireless performance measurement, and select either the wireline communications link or the wireless communications link based upon the comparison.
Home Monitoring and Control Systems
A home monitoring and control system (10) has a base unit (12), a monitoring system that has at least one monitoring device (14) to output monitoring signals and a portable unit (16). The base unit (12) has a base unit communications system (18). The portable unit (16) has an infra red remote device controller (18), a human I/O interface (20), a portable unit communications system (22) and a processor (24). The base unit communications system (18) connects with a telecommunications landline (26) and communicates wirelessly with the portable unit communications system (22). The processor (24) processes monitoring signals provided by the monitoring system and provides notifications when that processing indicates a predefined event. The human I/O interface (20) displays such notifications. The portable unit communications system (22) communicates with the base unit communications system (18) using a DECT communications protocol and with a Wi-Fi network (30).
Dynamic Provisioning of IoT Devices From an Online Application Marketplace
A method for provisioning a group of devices with control-group data defining one or more functional interrelationships between the devices. The method includes providing a GUI defining an online application marketplace, the GUI specifying multiple applications available for download, each application including a different respective set of control-group data defining a different respective set of one or more functional interrelationships. Further, the method includes receiving user input selecting a given one of the applications, the selected application defining given control-group data defining a given set of one or more functional interrelationships. And the method includes responsively (i) downloading the selected application and (ii) provisioning the devices of the group with the given set of control-group data, the provisioning establishing the given set of one or more functional interrelationships between the devices of the group.
