TECHNIQUES FOR HYBRIDIZED ULTRA-WIDEBAND AND NARROWBAND SIGNALING
Systems, methods, and computer-readable medium are provided for utilizing a hybrid of ultra-wideband (UWB) and narrowband (NB) signaling to provide more efficient operating range and operating efficiency. For example, a first device may schedule transmission of a packet via a narrowband signal to a second device. The first device may then transmit the packet, whereby the packet conveys synchronization data that is used by the second device to schedule reception of a plurality of fragments, respectively, via an ultra-wideband (UWB) signal. The first device may then schedule and transmit the plurality of segments to the second device via the ultra-wideband signals, each fragment being time-spaced from other fragments of the plurality of fragments by at least a predefined time interval.

The interference cancellation apparatus includes a main receive antenna, a divider, a first-type interference canceller, a down converter, a filter, a coupler, a digital down-conversion unit, a second-type interference reconstructor, and a local-frequency signal generator. The present invention is used for interference cancellation.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MITIGATING LOWPASS FILTER GROUP DELAY
A device for mitigating a first group delay of a lowpass filter configured to lowpass filter a first channel coefficient of a set of channel coefficients with respect to time, includes a prediction filter configured to filter a data sequence derived from a lowpass filtered first channel coefficient to generate a prediction value of the lowpass filtered first channel coefficient; and an adjustment circuitry configured to adjust the prediction filter to generate the prediction value having a second group delay that is less than the first group delay.
CHANNEL ESTIMATION BY CONTINUOUS TIME-DOMAIN PARAMETER EXTRACTION
Methods and apparatus of channel estimation using time-domain parameter extraction are disclosed. The wireless channel can be modeled by a multipath model with a limited number of parameters in the continuous time domain. Extracting the time-domain parameters and then reconstructing the channel yields channel estimates that have better accuracy. Time-domain parameter extraction also has lower computational complexity than existing methods.
Echo detection circuit and method for multi-carrier system
An echo detection circuit for a multi-carrier system includes a memory, a threshold generating circuit and an echo determining circuit. The memory stores a plurality of channel impulse response values of the multi-channel system. The channel impulse response values include a target channel impulse response value, a plurality of preceding channel impulse response values and a plurality of subsequent channel impulse response values; a threshold generating circuit, coupled to the memory, generating a threshold corresponding to the target channel impulse response according to the preceding channel impulse response values and the subsequent channel impulse response values; and an echo determining circuit, coupled to the threshold generating circuit and the memory, comparing the target channel impulse response value with the threshold to determine whether the target channel impulse response value corresponds to an echo path of the multi-carrier system.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENHANCED REFERENCE (RSTD) MEASUREMENT FOR LONG TERM EVOLUTION (LTE) POSITIONING
A method and apparatus are provided. The method includes receiving reference signal resource elements from a transceiver, determining a channel impulse response (CIR) signal based on the received reference signal resource elements, estimating a coarse value of a FAP of the reference signal resource elements based on the CIR signal, estimating a fine value of the FAP of the reference signal resource elements based on CIR samples around the FAP location, and combining the coarse value estimate and the fine value estimate to determine the FAP estimate.
PROCESSING MODULE AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A processing module for a transmitter device configured to provide for generation of a signal comprising at least one frame for transmission by the transmitter device to a receiver device, the processing module configured to provide for processing of an input pulse stream comprising a stream of pulses representative of data, to provide an output pulse stream, each pulse of the pulse streams having one of two states defining the phase with which a carrier wave is modulated; the processing module configured to; divide the input pulse stream into consecutive groups of pulses; and for each group of pulses, based on determination that the first two or more consecutive pulses of the group have the same polarity, provide for addition of at least one dummy pulse to the group directly after the first two or more consecutive pulses, with an opposite polarity.

Methods of operating and implementing wireless communications systems
Computerized wireless transmitter/receiver system that automatically uses combinations of various methods, including transmitting data symbols by weighing or modulating a family of time shifted and frequency shifted waveforms bursts, pilot symbol methods, error detection methods, MIMO methods, and other methods, to automatically determine the structure of a data channel, and automatically compensate for signal distortions caused by various structural aspects of the data channel, as well as changes in channel structure. Often the data channel is a two or three dimensional space in which various wireless transmitters, receivers and signal reflectors are moving. The invention's modulation methods detect locations and speeds of various reflectors and other channel impairments. Error detection schemes, variation of modulation methods, and MIMO techniques further detect and compensate for impairments. The invention can automatically optimize its operational parameters, and produce a deterministic non-fading signal in environments in which other methods would likely degrade.
