Other embodiments are disclosed.
Method and system for predicting a downlink channel

Other embodiments are disclosed.
TRANSMISSION METHOD, TRANSMITTER APPARATUS, RECEPTION METHOD AND RECEIVER APPARATUS
Transmission quality is improved in an environment in which direct waves dominate in a transmission method for transmitting a plurality of modulated signals from a plurality of antennas at the same time. All data symbols used in data transmission of a modulated signal are precoded by hopping between precoding matrices so that the precoding matrix used to precode each data symbol and the precoding matrices used to precode data symbols that are adjacent to the data symbol in the frequency domain and the time domain all differ. A modulated signal with such data symbols arranged therein is transmitted.
CHANNEL PREDICTION FRAMEWORK FOR RADIO COMMUNICATION
A method for predicting channel state information is described. The method includes determining whether or not geodesic prediction is to be performed and transmitting the determination of whether or not geodesic prediction is to be performed in a first part of uplink control signaling. In response to determining that geodesic prediction is not to be performed, the method includes transmitting a current channel estimate in a second part of uplink control signaling, and in response to determining that geodesic prediction is to be performed, the method includes transmitting either a determined current value of a tangent vector, or a determined step size parameter, or both the determined current value of the tangent vector and the determined step size parameter in the second part of uplink control signaling. Channel state information is predicted based on information provided in the first and second parts of uplink control signaling.
ADAPTIVE MULTIPLE ANTENNA TRANSMISSION SCHEME FOR UPLINK DATA TRANSMISSION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
The described technology is generally directed towards adaptively changing which transmission scheme a user equipment is to use based on a Doppler metric (e.g., Doppler frequency) as evaluated against a threshold Doppler value. A network instructs a user equipment to use a Rank-1 precoder cycling transmission scheme if the Doppler metric of user equipment is above a threshold value, or to use a closed loop MIMO transmission scheme if the user equipment has a Doppler metric below the threshold value. The network can instruct the user equipment via a suitable message, or by switching off TPMI and notifying the user equipment thereof.
Facilitating improvements to the uplink performance of 5G or other next generation networks
Facilitating improvements to the uplink performance in a communications network is provided herein. A system can comprise a processor and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations. The operations can comprise comparing respective metrics of a group of frequency hopping patterns based on a channel response received from a mobile device via uplink reference signals. The operations can also comprise selecting a frequency hopping pattern from the group of frequency hopping patterns based on a result of the comparing. Further, the operations can comprise indicating, to the mobile device, an index of the frequency hopping pattern with scheduling information of a communications network.
