Various arrangements for performing navigation based on characteristics of a cellular network are provided. A quality of experience (QoE) level required for a wireless service to be performed for a networked device may be determined. A current location and a destination for a vehicle may be determined. A wireless network coverage area map may be accessed that maps network performance characteristics for the cellular network across a geographic region. A navigation route from the current location to the destination based on the wireless network coverage area map and the determined QoE may be determined. The determined navigational route may be output to a navigation system.

A redundant communication apparatus includes a determining unit and a transmitting unit. The determining unit determines an upper limit of a redundancy level when transmission waiting data in a transmission apparatus is made redundant and transmitted, based on a data quantity of the transmission waiting data and a communication speed of a communication line between a reception apparatus that is a transmission destination of the transmission waiting data and the transmission apparatus. The transmitting unit causes the transmission waiting data to be made redundant at a redundancy level that is equal to or less than the upper limit determined by the determining unit and transmits the data to the reception apparatus via the communication line.

A method for correlating discarded network traffic with network policy events in a network includes receiving a flow record. The flow record includes initial network flow information in a standard flow record format. Discarded network traffic information associated with each network policy is received from a network policy enforcement device. Network traffic is discarded based on a network traffic policy. The received flow record is correlated with the received discarded network traffic information. The discarded network traffic information is encoded into the received flow record based on the correlation while maintaining the initial network flow information to yield an enhanced flow record.

A network quality determining method includes, when experience quality represented by a customer experience index of a target user within a first time period is lower than experience quality represented by a customer experience index threshold, determining, using a first parameter value that is of a network key performance indicator (KPI) parameter of the target user within a second time period and that is collected by a collection device in a carrier network, a second parameter value of the network KPI parameter of the target user within the second time period in a home network, and when network quality represented by the second parameter value of the network KPI parameter is lower than network quality represented by a first threshold corresponding to the network KPI parameter in the home network, determining that quality of the home network is poor.

Virtual network layer for distributed systems
Parameters associated with a distributed network are received. A topology of a virtual network that corresponds to the distributed network is generated in view of the received parameters. The topology of the virtual network is configured to simulate the distributed network and a simulation of the distributed network is executed using the configured virtual network.
