A congestion notification system includes a networking device coupling a sender device to a receiver device. The networking device is configured to detect a congestion situation. When the networking device will provide a first congestion notification in a first packet received from the sender device in response to detecting the congestion situation, as well as retrieve sender device information from the first packet and store that sender device information in a database. Following the sending of the first packet to the receiver device, the networking device receives a second packet that was sent from the receiver device prior to the receiver device receiving the first packet. In response to determining that the second packet includes the sender device information that is stored in the database, the networking device provides a second congestion notification in the second packet. The networking device then sends the second packet to the sender device.

Apparatus and method for detecting congestion of wireless network in communication system

Provided is an apparatus to detect congestion of a network using a receiver of a communication system. The apparatus includes a transport layer information extraction unit configured to extract transmission control protocol frame information from information that is received from a lower layer. The apparatus also includes a congestion information filtering unit configured to identify and output a packet to determine congestion in the transmission control protocol frame information. The apparatus further includes a congestion detection unit configured to determine whether the network is congested using the packet to determine congestion. The apparatus includes a congestion information output unit configured to, upon detecting congestion in the network, deliver information indicating the detection of the congestion in the network to an operating system or other applications.

WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS COEXISTENCE
20170331758 · 2017-11-16 ·

One or more wireless communication systems may coexist at about the same geographical location and be configured to access the same radio channel. The coexistence of these systems may cause collisions and degrade throughput. Although countermeasures, such as reserving airtime with a resource assignment, may be taken to avoid collisions, these countermeasures are degrading throughput as well. The reserved airtime is reduced by adding a start time to the resource assignment. The reduced airtime may be used by others for performing a transmission, thus increasing the throughput and efficiency of the access to the radio channel.

A bulk material tender includes a mobile frame, a hopper, and a discharge system. The mobile frame has a left side and a right side. The hopper is disposed on the mobile frame. The discharge system is configured to discharge particulate matter from the hopper. The discharge system includes a discharge auger, a deploying actuator, and a positioning actuator. The discharge auger presents a proximal end and a distal end. The deploying actuator is configured to selectively emplace the discharge auger in a stowed orientation and a deployed orientation, wherein the distal end is adjacent to the hopper in the stowed orientation. The positioning actuator configured to selectively emplace the discharge auger along the left side and the right side of the mobile frame. Once emplaced, the discharge auger discharges particulate material from the hopper toward a target location.

System and method for determining angle of arrival for communications

A system and method for determining an Angle of Arrival (AOA) for frequency modulated communications. The system may include first and second antennas spaced apart from each other by a distance, and configured to receive wireless communications in the form of a modulated signal. The system may determine a phase difference between the received signals based on one or more samples of a dedicated portion of the received signals, where one or more aspects of the dedicated portion is variable.

ABR control

There is provided a method for adaptive bitrate (ABR) adjustments in an IP network before making upshift of ABR level of media streams like video for live Over the Top (OTT) distribution. Example methods may include initiating, at a first time interval, probing of the IP network to determine if a first candidate bitrate is applicable, where the first candidate bitrate is greater than a preset bitrate of a client device data stream, determining that the candidate bitrate is applicable, increasing a transfer bitrate of the client device data stream, and initiating, at a second time interval, probing of the IP network to determine if a second candidate bitrate is applicable, where the second candidate bitrate is greater than the first candidate bitrate.

Systems, methods, and software for handling traffic congestion messages in wireless communication systems are provided herein. In one example, method of operating a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes monitoring a traffic congestion message transferred by a radio access network of the wireless communication system for delivery to a congestion mitigation node responsive to user traffic congestion for a wireless communication device in the radio access network. The method includes identifying a destination network for the traffic congestion message. When the destination network indicates a congestion mitigation node not in the wireless communication system, the method includes withholding delivery of the traffic congestion message. When the destination network indicates a congestion mitigation node in the wireless communication system, the method includes allowing delivery of the traffic congestion message to the congestion mitigation node in the wireless communication system.
