Probing available bandwidth along a network path
In one embodiment, a time period is identified in which probe packets are to be sent along a path in a network based on predicted user traffic along the path. The probe packets are then sent during the identified time period along the path. Conditions of the network path are monitored during the time period. The rate at which the packets are sent during the time period is dynamically adjusted based on the monitored conditions. Results of the monitored conditions are collected, to determine an available bandwidth limit along the path.
VIRTUAL SWITCH-BASED CONGESTION CONTROL FOR DATACENTER NETWORKS
A timer is associated with a packet of a flow from a VM at an application executing in conjunction with a vSwitch in a host system, using a processor assigned to the vSwitch in the host system. At the application, using a counter, a number of packets of the flow that are received and acknowledged in response packets is counted, the response packets being received from a receiver of the flow. At the application, using a period measured by the timer and the number of received packets acknowledged as counted by the counter, a CWND value is computed. The CWND value is applied to the flow at the vSwitch such that the vSwitch transmits, from the flow to a network, only a number of packets up to the CWND value.
Localized congestion exposure
A method of localized congestion exposure within a local loop in a cellular network that is performed by a localized congestion exposure sender node of the local loop. The method includes receiving downlink packets that are destined for a downstream user device. The method also includes receiving packets that have feedback indicating a congestion level from a downstream node of the cellular network. The method further includes inserting a declaration of an expected downstream congestion level into headers of the received downlink packets; and forwarding the downlink packets that have the declaration of the expected downstream congestion level inserted into the headers toward the downstream user device.
System, method and apparatus for network congestion management and network resource isolation
System, method and apparatus for network congestion management and network resource isolation. A high level network usage and device architecture is provided that can satisfy buffering and network bandwidth resource management for data center networks. The congestion management can be defined to bring the reaction point closer to the network ports. In one embodiment, the reaction point is resident in a network interface card (NIC).
Dual side bulk material tender
A bulk material tender includes a mobile frame, a hopper, and a discharge system. The mobile frame has a left side and a right side. The hopper is disposed on the mobile frame. The discharge system is configured to discharge particulate matter from the hopper. The discharge system includes a discharge auger, a deploying actuator, and a positioning actuator. The discharge auger presents a proximal end and a distal end. The deploying actuator is configured to selectively emplace the discharge auger in a stowed orientation and a deployed orientation, wherein the distal end is adjacent to the hopper in the stowed orientation. The positioning actuator configured to selectively emplace the discharge auger along the left side and the right side of the mobile frame. Once emplaced, the discharge auger discharges particulate material from the hopper toward a target location.
ABR control
There is provided a method for adaptive bitrate (ABR) adjustments in an IP network before making upshift of ABR level of media streams like video for live Over the Top (OTT) distribution. The invention is based on before upshifting of a current ABR level to a higher ABR level for one or more client devices, probing the network system with a higher bitrate of the data stream provided by e.g. replicating data in the data stream, and monitoring network conditions during probing. Based on the probing it is determined if the available resources in the network are sufficient to sustain an upshift of ABR-level for the client device.
Switch, switch controlling method, and program
A switch has a determining section and a memory managing section. The determining section determines whether or not the node is in a non-ordinary state in which received packets cannot be successfully processed, on a basis of a determination whether or not congestion notification packets received from a node have been continuously received during at least a given period and a determination whether or not a quantity of memory used in a buffer memory which accumulates received packets is at least a given value. The memory managing section deletes, in a case where the node is determined to be in the non-ordinary state, data addressed to the node in the non-ordinary state among data accumulated in the buffer memory.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING ACKNOWLEDGMENT IN NETWORK TRANSPORT PROTOCOLS
A first network device is configured to: transmit data packets and poll messages to a second network device; and receive, in response to each poll message, at least one status message from the second network device. The at least one status message indicates which of the data packets sent before that poll message have been correctly received at the second network device and/or have been lost. The first network device is configured to adapt a rate of transmitting the poll messages based on a set of parameters. Further, a second network device is configured to: receive data packets from a first network device; and transmit at least one unsolicited status message to the first network device, in case of certain conditions.
NON-ACCESS STRATUM CONGESTION INDICATIONS
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network, a procedure rejection message for non-cellular access at a non-access stratum (NAS) layer, and provide a first congestion indication from the NAS layer to lower layers for non-cellular access based at least in part on the receiving the procedure rejection message. The UE may refrain, at the lower layers, from initiating establishment of a signaling connection based at least in part on the first congestion indication. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Network Congestion Processing Method and Related Apparatus
A network congestion processing method includes performing Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN) marking on a packet using first ECN configuration information, obtaining first network status information indicating a network status when the first ECN configuration information is used; determining second ECN configuration information based on the first ECN configuration information and the first network status information; and performing ECN marking on the packet using the second ECN configuration information.
