Self-checking node

In an example, a method includes forming a first self-checking pair including a self-checking node and a first node adjacent to the self-checking node in a network. The method further includes forming a second self-checking pair including the self-checking node and a second node adjacent to the self-checking node in the network, wherein the self-checking node is between the first node and the second node. The method further includes transmitting a first paired broadcast with the first self-checking pair and transmitting a second paired broadcast with the second self-checking pair.

Prepopulation of Call Center Cache

A system, process, and computer-readable medium for updating an application cache using a stream listening service is described. A stream listening service may monitor one or more data streams for content relating to a user. The stream listening service may forward the content along with time-to-live values to an application cache. A user may use an application to obtain information regarding the user's account, where the application obtains information from a data store and/or cached information from the application cache. The stream listening service, by forwarding current account information, obtained from listening to one or more streams, to the application cache, reduces traffic at the data store by providing current information from the data stream to the application cache.

Transporting a Message from an Industrial End Device over an Ethernet Network

A method for transporting a message from an end device in an industrial plant over an Ethernet network with extended functionality for time-sensitive communication includes obtaining the message from a control application of the end device, mapping the message, based at least in part on the content of the message, to at least one functionality for time-sensitive communication converting the message into Ethernet frames; encoding a request to transport the message; transmitting the Ethernet frames; decoding the request; and forwarding the message on the Ethernet network according to the requested functionality for time-sensitive communication.

TECHNIQUES FOR DEADLINE-AWARE SCHEDULING

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to generate a set of data packets that are to be transmitted to a base station, where each data packet of the set of data packets is associated with a respective packet expiration time. The UE may transmit an indication of packet expiration information associated with the set of data packets, where the packet expiration information is based on a set of packet expiration times associated with the set of data packets. The UE may receive, from the base station, scheduling information associated with at least a subset of the set of data packets, where the scheduling information is based on the packet expiration information. The UE may then transmit at least one data packet of the subset data packets to the base station in accordance with the scheduling information.

QOS policy provisioning on resource constrained network devices

Embodiments herein describe techniques for prioritizing applications based on application usage data. The space in the TCAM in many network devices is limited. That is, there may be more applications (and corresponding QoS settings) than there is space in the TCAM. In the embodiments herein, a netflow collector monitors the traffic flows in the network devices. A application usage tracker can identify which applications generate traffic in which network devices. That is, the application usage tracker can identify, based on the information provided by the netflow collector, the application usage of each network device. The central management tool can prune the applications that are not used by the network device and generate QoS settings only for applications that are used by the network device.

METHOD FOR OPERATING ONE OR MORE NODES IN A COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK FOR COORDINATING TRANSMISSIONS OF DIFFERENT NODES IN THE NETWORK USING DATA VALIDITY AS DECISION METRIC
20230179529 · 2023-06-08 · ·

A method for operating a node in a communications network for coordinating transmissions of different nodes in the network to improve coordination of communication between network nodes. The node includes a validity state and estimation module, wireless state monitor module, wireless configuration space module, and wireless configurator module. The VSE assigns a data validity value to a data packet and/or to a transmission buffer of the node. The data validity value reflects the usefulness of the data packet for an application and is preferably age based. The WSM gathers physical transmission property data indicative of transmission properties of a communication link provided by the network between the node and another node. The WCS determines a parameter configuration space amenable for transmitting the data packet via the communication link and the WCON sets corresponding transmission parameters based on the data validity value and physical transmission property data. Finally, the data packet is transmitted.

Handling user plane in wireless systems

Systems, methods and instrumentalities may be provided for handling a user plane in a wireless communication system. The wireless communication system may be characterized by a flexible air interface. One aspect of the flexible air interface is that transmissions by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) in the system may have different quality of service (QoS) requirements, such as different latency requirements. The WTRU may adjust its behaviors based on the QoS requirements, e.g., by utilizing preconfigured resources, resource requests, self-scheduling, and/or the like, such that the transmissions may be performed in accordance with their respective QoS requirements.
