SYSTEM AND METHOD TO ESTIMATE NETWORK DISRUPTION INDEX
20200099702 · 2020-03-26 ·

Presented herein are methodologies for implementing a system and apparatus to estimate a network disruption index and undertake a mitigation action accordingly. A method includes calculating a network disruption index based on at least a disruption score associated with a service request measure, an end-of-life measure, a security incident response measure and a return material authorization measure for respective hardware devices in a network, comparing the network disruption index to a predetermined threshold, and when the network disruption index is above the predetermined threshold, identifying one or more of the hardware devices in the network for a mitigation action and implementing the mitigation action.

Method and apparatus for retransmission

Aspects of the disclosure provide an apparatus for wireless communication. The apparatus includes a transceiver and a processing circuit. The transceiver is configured to transmit and receive wireless signals. The processing circuit is configured to detect an error of a previous scheduled transmission of data units from the apparatus to another apparatus. The other apparatus provides scheduled resources for transmission between the two apparatuses. Further, the processing circuit is configured to determine resources that are scheduled by the other apparatus for the apparatus to perform retransmission, and provide one or more of the data units in the previous scheduled transmission to the transceiver for retransmission using the scheduled resources.

Facilitating management of resources

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an apparatus and method for facilitating management of resources. The apparatus configured to collect all software and hardware resources available to a user; store information associated with the collected resources; present the information associated with the collected resources to the user and receive a resource allocation request from the user; and configure resources based on the resource allocation request; allocate the configured resources to the user. By means of the present disclosure, it is possible to achieve one-stop-shop resource query, fully automated resource configuration, reduced costs for maintenance and/or precise instructions for resource expansion.

Automatically modifying cell definition tables within networks
10588062 · 2020-03-10 · ·

Systems and methods are described herein for modifying cell definition tables with telecommunications networks. In response to a handover failure between cells of the network, the systems and methods determine changes have been made to a network, such as changes to various identification information for cells associated with a controlling (or serving) node of the network. For example, the systems and methods utilize ANR functions to detect the changes to the network.

Data path retention during control plane failures in a Multiprotocol Label Switching network

Systems and methods for data path retention during control plane failures in a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network include, in a network element, operating an MPLS service on a data path in the MPLS network in an initial stage with both a control plane and a data plane operating normally; responsive to a failure affecting only the control plane, switching the MPLS service to an Ethernet Line (ELINE) service which is configured on the data path; and, responsive to a recovery of the control plane, switching the ELINE service back to the MPLS service.

Intelligent exception recovery in network services

A system and method for responding to exceptions in network services. A network management system (NMS) configures a first network service having an endpoint and a plurality of externally mapped attributes, the externally mapped attributes including one or more service level attributes and an endpoint attribute associated with the endpoint. The NMS detects an exception in the first network service, modifies the first network service in response to the exception, wherein modifying the first network service includes assigning the current value of the endpoint attribute of the first network service to the endpoint attribute of a second network service and validates the externally mapped attributes of the second network service.

Multi-level resource reservation
10541937 · 2020-01-21 · ·

The present disclosure is directed to a multi-level resource reservation system that obviates one or more of the problems due to limitations and disadvantages of the related art. The multi-level resource reservation system creates, or modifies existing, peer-to-peer protocol(s) to complete a continuous chain of configured ports to support QoS feature(s), e.g., bound latency and guaranteed jitter, for a data flow that traverses an arbitrary sequence of bridges, routers, and virtual links.

Dynamic reservation protocol for 5G network slicing

A method, implemented by a slice registration server, for dynamic reservation of network slices includes receiving a first request from a client for a network slice including one or more of networks, compute, and storage resources in one or more networks for a time period; determining availability of the network resources based on the first request and a state of the one or more networks; transmitting a response to the client based on the availability; receiving a second request from the client based on the response; and causing instantiation of the network resources and providing an acknowledgment to the client based thereon.

Systems and methods to signal Auto Facility Bypass Tunnel Generation Indication and Backup Reselection Request for Fast Reroute capable downstream routers in MPLS

Systems and methods for auto creation of bypass tunnels in Fast Reroute (FRR) downstream routers include configuring one or more Label Switched Path (LSP) tunnels between an ingress Label Edge Router (LER) and an egress LER via one or more Label Switch Routers (LSRs); signaling at least one LSP tunnel of the one or more LSP tunnels with a Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) PATH message containing a FAST_REROUTE object with a first flag indicating Facility Backup protection is desired and a second flag indicating auto generation of an associated FB bypass tunnel; and configuring the associated FB bypass tunnel between a Point of Local Repair (PLR) and a Merge Point (MP) based on the first flag and the second flag. The systems and methods can further include bypass tunnel reselection requests to a bypass tunnel with better protection.

Performing calculation for state management when failure in communication has occurred
11888757 · 2024-01-30 · ·

A communication unit (2) communicates with a management apparatus directly or via another communication apparatus. A transfer control unit (4) performs processing of transferring a state change notification that has been transmitted from a first communication apparatus and indicates a state change of the first communication apparatus. A proxy calculation unit (6) performs, when a failure in communication has occurred at the side of the management apparatus, calculation for state management performed by the management apparatus using the state change notification. When a failure in communication has occurred, the transfer control unit (4) outputs a state change notification to the proxy calculation unit (6). When the failure in communication has been resolved, the transfer control unit (4) performs control so as to transmit the result of the calculation by the proxy calculation unit (6) to the management apparatus.
