METHODS OF AND DEVICES FOR EXECUTING POLICY RULES ON A PER APPLICATION BASIS IN A TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM
Implementation of an application rule for an application to be accessed by a User Equipment, UE, in a user session in a Service Based Architecture, SBA, domain in a core network of a telecommunications system is disclosed. The SBA, among others, comprises a Policy Control Function, PCF (6), an Application Function, AF (5), and a Session Management Function, SMF (9). The method comprising the steps of receiving, by the PCF (6), an application rule comprising an AF Identifier, AF-ID, identifying the application rule, an Application Identifier, App-ID, identifying the application, and at least one service requirement for processing the application in the SBA domain. The PCF (6) instructing the SMF (9) to execute the at least one service requirement to all present and future user sessions pertaining to the respective application. Complementary methods of supporting the execution of the application rule and devices are also presented.
User Plane Path Selection Method and Apparatus
This application provides a user plane path selection method and an apparatus. The method includes: A first network element determines, based on at least one service type corresponding to a terminal device, service experience analytics data corresponding to the at least one service type, and then selects one or more user plane paths for a session of the terminal device based on the service experience analytics data. This enables a user plane path to be associated with a service, helps select a more appropriate user plane path for the terminal device, and can improve communication efficiency.
Providing access to a hybrid application offline
Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for providing access to a hybrid web application offline. In some implementations, a computing device can be configured with a hybrid application that includes a native layer and a web view. The native layer can provide access to native features of the computing device while the web view can provide web client features, such as graphical user interfaces and server communication functionality. When the computing device is offline and the hybrid application is invoked, the native layer can load from local storage a resource bundle including the web code needed to present the web view graphical user interface, and/or facilitate communication with the web server. Similarly, when the computing device is offline, the hybrid application can load previously stored content items into the web view from local storage through the native layer so that the user can work with the content items offline.
Restrict services and policy control for always-on PDU session
A wireless device sends a PDU session establishment request message to an access and mobility management function (AMF). The PDU session establishment request message requests establishment of a packet data unit (PDU) session for an always-on PDU session. The wireless device receives a first message from the AMF. The first message indicates at least one service associated with the always-on PDU session. The wireless device sends at least one packet of an at least one allowed service of the at least one service via the always-on PDU session.
System and method of providing policy selection in a network
Disclosed are systems and methods for providing policy selection in a software defined network. An example method includes registering, by an enterprise controller on an enterprise domain, in a shared mapping system on a service provider domain, one or more entries specifying one or more services for one or more classes of traffic to yield registered entries, reading, by a service provider controller, from the shared mapping system, the registered entries, posting, by the service provider controller, the one or more entries to one or more routing tables at a software-defined wide area network of the service provider domain and receiving a request, by a mobile node on the enterprise domain, of a specific service for a particular class of packets according to a classification of the particular class of packets based on a particular label defined in the registered entries for the specific service.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING VIDEO STREAMING CONGESTION
A system and method for managing video streaming on a computer network based at least in part on a state of a video streaming traffic flow. The method includes: reviewing a traffic flow to determine whether the traffic flow is a video streaming traffic flow; if the traffic flow is a video streaming traffic flow, determine at least one video characteristic associated with the video streaming traffic flow; determining a state of the video streaming traffic flow; determining a priority of the video streaming traffic flow based on the characteristics and the state of the video streaming traffic flow; and allocating bandwidth to the video streaming traffic flow based on the priority; otherwise, if the traffic flow is not a video streaming traffic flow, allowing the traffic flow to continue with the traffic flow's current priority.
Releasing and retaining resources for use in a NFV environment
A virtual network function (VNF) management system includes a computer-executable set of instructions to deploy a VNF using one or more resources allocated for use by the VNF in which the one or more resources are allocated by communicating with a resource manager that manages the one or more resources. The system then receives a request from a user interface to un-deploy the VNF, and un-deploys the VNF while keeping the resources allocated for use by the VNF. At a later time, the system can then receive a request to restore the VNF from the user interface, and deploy the VNF again using the allocated resources.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTENT BASED TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
A system and a method for traffic management on a network. The method including: determining a desired intent for a network operator's traffic; determining a set of classes for a traffic flow through a link; determining a minimum and target bandwidth for each class in the set of class based on the desired intent; measure user score and bandwidth use for each class; allocate a bandwidth per class based on the minimum and target bandwidth and measured user score; and shape the traffic flow to the allocated bandwidth.
USER-CONTROLLED SESSION MANAGER TO PROVIDE REMOTE DISABLING OF SESSION TOKENS
There are provided systems and methods for a user-controlled session manager to provide remote disabling of session tokens. An online service provider, such as a user-controlled session manager, may provide service to manage sessions between user's devices and other online service provider platforms, such as login and use sessions that exchange messages and data. The session manager may receive hashed values of session IDs from the service providers hosting the sessions, which may be used to securely identify the sessions without compromising the session IDs to malicious parties. The session manager may provide a functionality to allow the user to view session statuses, as well as change their statuses to indicate that the sessions can be terminated. The session manager may update the status so that when the service provider pings the session manager for the status, the session's status is updated to be inactive.
UNION FORMATION OF EDGE CLOUD-NATIVE CLUSTERS
Cloud-native clusters are disclosed and configured to for an edge cloud. The edge cloud includes using private infrastructure to include edge stations that are configured to perform cloud-native applications. The edge stations are geographically closer to end users and end user devices.
