PRIORITY HANDLING AT QUALITY OF SERVICE FLOW RELOCATION
According to an aspect, there is provided a terminal device comprising means for relocating a quality of service, QoS, flow from a first data radio bearer to a second data radio bearer. Moreover, the means are further configured, in response to the relocating, to temporarily adjust one or more prioritization parameters associated with the first data bearer to prioritize the first data radio bearer.
Methods and systems for controlling network service quality
Methods and systems are provided for controlling network service quality. According to an aspect of the invention, a computer-implemented method is provided for controlling levels of quality of service (QoS) for transmitting data between a terminal and a destination. The method comprises enforcing a first level of a QoS to a connection between the terminal and the network, receiving a user-requested, second level of the QoS from the terminal, identifying a currently-available level of the QoS on the network, determining a third level of the QoS based at least in part on the currently-available level of the QoS on the network and the second level of the QoS, and enforcing the third level of the QoS. Methods and system are provided for enabling users at the terminals to specify online a level of network QoS, and the system dynamically changes the quality level and the plan to satisfy the request.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A VIRTUAL NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE
A method for operating a virtual network infrastructure, wherein a corresponding physical infrastructure comprises one or more physical infrastructure resources, includes monitoring utilization levels of one or more resource units of the one or more physical infrastructure resources for virtual resources requesting the one or more resource units; calculating average absolute resource utilization values based on the utilization levels for each of the virtual resources; calculating a reference resource of score (RRAS) for each of the one or more resource units of the one or more physical infrastructure resources, wherein the RRAS indicates an impact of the utilization of a reference resource unit on utilization of other resource units on a physical infrastructure resource using the calculated average absolute resource utilization values; and assigning resources by a virtual infrastructure controller (VIC) and/or a VIC-agent on a resource, based on the RRAS for the virtual resources.
RESOURCE DISCOVERY IN A MULTI-EDGE COMPUTING NETWORK
Methods and systems are disclosed for discovering resources in a multi-access computing environment. The method may include receiving application parameters for an application to be serviced using multi-access edge computing (MEC) resources. The method may also include generating network address identifiers associated with the application based on the application parameters, and storing, in a memory, the network address identifiers associated with the application to be serviced using the MEC resources. The method may include deploying an instance of the application at a MEC cluster. The deployed instance of the application may be accessible by user equipment with one of the network address identifiers.
DYNAMIC AND DETERMINISTIC ACCELERATION OF NETWORK SCHEDULING FOR SHARED FPGAS
A method for allocating resources of a field-programmable gate array (FPGA), the method comprising: deterministically estimating a maximum latency for executing a network service at the FPGA; determining that the maximum latency is less than a threshold latency value associated with the network service; outputting an acknowledgement indicating that the maximum latency is less than or equal to the threshold latency value; receiving confirmation that the FPGA has been selected to execute the network service within a threshold time period; and deterministically scheduling the resources of the FPGA for executing the network service in response to receiving the confirmation within the threshold time period.
Remote Bandwidth Allocation
A system and method remotely allocate bandwidth among content consumers on a computing network based on optimizing an aggregate objective pertaining to a plurality of flows of content. The system and method create a profile for each flow of the plurality of flows from a content provider to a content consumer on the computing network. Information is stored in each profile based on at least a metric associated with the corresponding flow. A target bandwidth for each profile is computed remotely, based on optimizing an aggregate objective pertaining to the plurality of flows of content. The optimizing is also based on the information stored in their respective profiles. The system and method distribute the bandwidth to each flow of the plurality of flows based on the target bandwidth remotely computed for each profile.
SCHEDULING METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FOURTH GENERATION RADIO MOBILE NETWORKS
A method is proposed for scheduling, in a radio mobile network, serving cell/radio resource allocation pairs for transmission of data flows using Carrier Aggregation. Each serving cell/radio resource allocation pair includes a serving cell and a radio resource thereof allocated for transmission of data flows using Carrier Aggregation. At each scheduling period the method determines active data flows whose transmission is not yet completed at the current scheduling period, and performs a series of steps for each active data flow.
QUALITY OF SERVICE IN A DISTRIBUTED SYSTEM
A method is provided that includes receiving a tenant identifier. The method also includes identifying a quality of service (QoS) policy associated with a tenant identified by the tenant identifier, by looking up the tenant identifier in a memory data structure. The QoS policy includes a threshold value of a performance parameter. The threshold value is a minimum or a maximum threshold value. The method also includes receiving a service request from the tenant. The method also includes determining an estimated value of the performance parameter in view of the request. The method also includes, responsive to successfully evaluating a validity condition with respect to the estimated value in view of the threshold value, forwarding the request to a servicing component for execution. The validity condition is provided by the estimated value not exceeding the maximum threshold value or the estimated value not falling below the minimum threshold value.
Techniques to support multiple interconnect protocols for a common set of interconnect connectors
Embodiments may be generally direct to apparatuses, systems, method, and techniques to determine a configuration for a plurality of connectors, the configuration to associate a first interconnect protocol with a first subset of the plurality of connectors and a second interconnect protocol with a second subset of the plurality of connectors, the first interconnect protocol and the second interconnect protocol are different interconnect protocols and each comprising one of a serial link protocol, a coherent link protocol, and an accelerator link protocol, cause processing of data for communication via the first subset of the plurality of connectors in accordance with the first interconnect protocol, and cause processing of data for communication via the second subset of the plurality of connector in accordance with the second interconnect protocol.
Systems for media policy decision and control and methods for use therewith
A system includes a policy repository configured to store a plurality of plurality of media-centric policies. A media policy decision point receives media session data corresponding to one of the plurality of media sessions; determines a plurality of media-specific and non-media specific attributes, based on the media session data; and evaluates a plurality of media-centric policies to determine a proper subset of the plurality of media-centric policies that apply to the one of the plurality of media sessions. A media policy enforcement point enforces the proper subset of the plurality of media-centric policies to control the one of the plurality of media sessions.
