Route exchange in multi-tenant clustered controllers
Route exchange in a plurality of network controller appliances on a per-tenant basis is disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, from a network management system and at a first network controller appliance, a designation of at least two tenants to be hosted on the first network controller appliance, the first network controller appliance being one of a plurality of network controller appliances in a SD-WAN; sending, from the first network controller appliance to other network controller appliances of the plurality of network controller appliances, a tenant list query message to obtain a corresponding tenant list of each of the other network controller appliances; and receiving a corresponding response from each of the other network controller appliances indicating the corresponding tenant list of each of the other network controller appliances, the corresponding response being used to update the tenant list on the first network controller appliance.
TECHNIQUES FOR DYNAMICALLY ALLOCATING RESOURCES IN A STORAGE CLUSTER SYSTEM
Various embodiments are directed to techniques for dynamically adjusting a maximum rate of throughput for accessing data stored within a volume of storage space of a storage cluster system based on the amount of that data that is stored within that volume. An apparatus includes an access component to monitor an amount of client data stored within a volume defined within a storage device coupled to a first node, and to perform a data access command received from a client device via a network to alter the client data stored within the volume; and a policy component to limit a rate of throughput at which at least the client data within the volume is exchanged as part of performance of the data access command to a maximum rate of throughput, and to calculate the maximum rate of throughput based on the stored amount.
Using multi-phase constraint programming to assign resource guarantees of consumers to hosts
“Resource guarantee” refers to a unit of a resource that is guaranteed and therefore designated to a consumer. A multi-phased constraint programming (CP) approach is used to determine assignments of resource guarantees of a set of consumers to a set of hosts in a resource system. Phase I uses CP to segregate non-split consumers from split consumers. Phase II uses CP to assign each cotenant group of non-split consumers to a respective host. Phase III uses CP to assign resource guarantees of the split consumers across the hosts, wherein resource guarantees of a single split consumer may be splits across different hosts. Each phase involves execution of a CP solver based on a different CP data model. A CP data model declaratively expresses combinatorial properties of a problem in terms of constraints. CP is a form of declarative programming.
CONNECTING NETWORK AGNOSTIC DEVICES
The invention relates to a method for operating a connectivity orchestration entity configured to orchestrate a connectivity of a plurality of devices to a cellular network, wherein each of the plurality of devices is configured to exchange data with a corresponding application via the cellular network, the method comprising, for each of the plurality of devices: determining Quality of Service, QoS, requirements needed for the data exchange of the device with the corresponding application, determining a network address with which the devices will be addressed in the cellular network, transmitting a connectivity request to the cellular network to set up a data packet connection through the cellular network to the corresponding application.
Device-Assisted Services for Protecting Network Capacity
Device Assisted Services (DAS) for protecting network capacity is provided. In some embodiments, DAS for protecting network capacity includes monitoring a network service usage activity of the communications device in network communication; classifying the network service usage activity for differential network access control for protecting network capacity; and associating the network service usage activity with a network service usage control policy based on a classification of the network service usage activity to facilitate differential network access control for protecting network capacity.
THROTTLING QUEUE FOR A REQUEST SCHEDULING AND PROCESSING SYSTEM
Various methods and systems for implementing request scheduling and processing in a multi-tenant distributed computing environment are provided. Requests to utilize system resources in the distributed computing environment are stored in account queues corresponding to tenant accounts. If storing a request in an account queue would exceed a throttling threshold such as a limit on the number of requests stored per account, the request is dropped to a throttling queue. A scheduler prioritizes processing requests stored in the processing queue before processing requests stored in the account queues. The account queues can be drained using dominant resource scheduling. In some embodiments, a request is not picked up from an account queue if processing the request would exceed a predefined hard limit on system resource utilization for the corresponding tenant account. In some embodiments, the hard limit is defined as a percentage of threads the system has to process requests.
Device Group Partitions and Settlement Platform
Device group partitions and a settlement platform are provided. In some embodiments, device group partitions (e.g., partitions of devices based on associated device groups) are provided. In some embodiments, a settlement platform service is provided. In some embodiments, a settlement platform service is provided for partitioned devices. In some embodiments, collecting device generated service usage information for one or more devices in wireless communication on a wireless network; and aggregating the device generated service usage information for a settlement platform for the one or more devices in wireless communication on the wireless network is provided. In some embodiments, a settlement platform implements a service billing allocation and/or a service/transactional revenue share among one or more partners. In some embodiments, service usage information includes micro-CDRs, which are used for CDR mediation or reconciliation that provides for service usage accounting on any device activity that is desired. In some embodiments, each device activity that is desired to be associated with a billing event is assigned a micro-CDR transaction code, and a service processor of the device is programmed to account for that activity associated with that transaction code. In some embodiments, a service processor executing on a wireless communications device periodically reports (e.g., during each heartbeat or based on any other periodic, push, and/or pull communication technique(s)) micro-CDR usage measures to, for example, a service controller or some other network element for CDR mediation or reconciliation.
TECHNOLOGIES FOR SWITCHING NETWORK TRAFFIC IN A DATA CENTER
Technologies for switching network traffic include a network switch. The network switch includes one or more processors and communication circuitry coupled to the one or more processors. The communication circuity is capable of switching network traffic of multiple link layer protocols. Additionally, the network switch includes one or more memory devices storing instructions that, when executed, cause the network switch to receive, with the communication circuitry through an optical connection, network traffic to be forwarded, and determine a link layer protocol of the received network traffic. The instructions additionally cause the network switch to forward the network traffic as a function of the determined link layer protocol. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
CONTROL APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD AND PROGRAM
A control apparatus includes an acquisition unit that acquires application information related to at least one of a plurality of sessions at a plurality of timings for each of the plurality of sessions related to a plurality of types of applications that are communicating in a network, a search unit that searches for an allocation band of each of the plurality of sessions at the plurality of timings based on a QoE prediction value of each of the plurality of sessions derived from the application information and a condition for a band of the network, and a control unit that controls allocation of a band for each of the plurality of sessions at the plurality of timings based on the allocation band searched by the search unit.
Smart cascading security functions for 6G or other next generation network
In a 6G network, microservices can be utilized in the absence of a core network. For example, after a mobile device has authenticated, through its carrier network, with a transport service layer, microservices can be allocated to the mobile device without having to be transmitted via the core network. Thus, removing the core network from the process can generate a direct line of microservices from the transport layer to the end-user. Furthermore, additional microservices and/or resources can be access through a microservices library. Consequently, packets can be securely transmitted be a wireless network facilitating sending packet profile data from one to many node devices in anticipation of the packet traversing the various node devices.
