NETWORK SLICING BASED ON ONE OR MORE TOKEN COUNTERS
20210037544 · 2021-02-04 ·

Wireless transmissions via a wireless network may be improved by using network slice tokens. One or more user devices may be assigned to a network slice or several network slices, and a computing device may determine whether transmissions via the network slice satisfy target(s). Based on whether the target(s) are satisfied, a token counter value associated with the network slice may be adjusted. A weight associated with each flow or user may be determined based on the token counter value. A computing device may allocate transmission resources to the flow or user based on the weight.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FACILITATING OPERATIONS IN STORAGE FACILITIES
20210037106 · 2021-02-04 · ·

A method for facilitating operations in storage facilities. A server receives a service request for performing a first operation in the storage facility. The server identifies a first storage unit based on the service request. The server identifies an operation zone of the first storage unit for performing the first operation. The server determines an ergonomic score for each operator for performing the first operation based on characteristics of the operation zone and the fatigue level of the corresponding operator. The server allocates the first storage unit to a first operator for performing the first operation, based on the determined ergonomic scores, thereby ensuring an increased throughput of the storage facility.

Multiuser device staging
10911299 · 2021-02-02 · ·

Disclosed are various embodiments for staging client devices that allow for multiple user access. A computing device retrieves a current version of the list of user profiles associated with the client device. The computing device determines that the current list of user profiles differs from a previous version of the list of user profiles associated with the client device. The computing device identifies a list of policies to be sent to a management component executing on the client device based at least in part on a determination that the current list of user profiles differs from the previous version, wherein the list of policies comprises at least one policy that is associated with at least one user profile included in the current list of user profiles that is absent from the previous version of the list of user profiles. The computing device then sends the list of policies to the management component executing on the client device.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ALLOCATING SERVER RESOURCE, ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM
20210218690 · 2021-07-15 ·

Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a method and apparatus for allocating a server resource, an electronic device and a computer readable storage medium, and relate to the technical fields of cloud platform, cloud environment, containerization and resource allocation. A specific implementation of the method comprises: acquiring a container group creation request initiated by a user for creating a target container group; determining a required amount of server resources required by the user and a remaining amount of the server resources according to the container group creation request, the remaining amount comprising at least one of an exclusive server resource or a shared server resource; rating qualities of the remaining amount of server resources in the remaining amount, and selecting a target server resource corresponding to the required amount according to an obtained actual rating; and allocating the target server resource to the user for creating the target container group.

Rate Limiter

Systems and methods of rate limiting are disclosed herein. In some example embodiments, a rate limiter service receives a request from an online application to access an online resource, and the rate limiter service transmits an indication of the request to a back end system, and an enforcement decision corresponding to the online resource is received from the back end system, with the enforcement decision comprising an instruction to either permit or deny access to the online resource, and the receiving of the enforcement decision from the back end system being performed asynchronously with the receiving of the request and the transmitting of the indication. In some example embodiments, the enforcement decision received from the back end system is stored, the stored enforcement decision is accessed in response to the receiving of the request, and the request is responded to using the accessed enforcement decision.

INTERNET ACTIVITY COMPARTMENTALIZATION

A system for initiating web containers and isolating network traffic to web containers is described. The system initiates and uses web containers for associated web-based resources, such as domain addresses owned by a single entity. When a web container for a domain address has not been initiated, the system determines an owner of the domain address and any domain addresses associated with the owner and initiates a web container for the domain address and the associated domains. When a user navigates to the domain addresses associated with the determined owner, the system isolates the network activity to the initiated web container.

Capacity forecasting for high-usage periods
11863466 · 2024-01-02 · ·

Examples herein include systems and methods for providing capacity forecasting for high-usage periods of a computing infrastructure. An example method can include segmenting a first portion of a data stream and generating a first core set for a forecasting model that predicts future usage of computing resources. The example method can further include segmenting a second portion of the data stream, generating a second core set, and using both core sets to forecast usage. The first core set can then be phased out after a predetermined time period has elapsed such that forecasting is based only on the second core set. The example method can further include defining at least two clusters of data and performing predictive analysis on that specific cluster. Cluster-specific results can be displayed on a GUI, which can also provide a user with options for increase or decrease computing resources based on the predictions.

ALLOCATION AND MANAGEMENT OF TUNNEL ENDPOINTS IN SOFTWARE DEFINED NETWORKS

Described herein are systems and methods for allocating to tunnel endpoints to virtual machines on a host. In one example, a host identifies when a new virtual machine is coupled to a virtual switch and determines a tenant associated with the new virtual machine. The host further determines whether a tunnel endpoint is allocated to the tenant and, when a tunnel endpoint has not been allocated, allocates a new tunnel endpoint to the tenant and maps the new virtual machine to the new tunnel endpoint.

Providing streaming media data

A system for servicing streaming media requests. The system includes stream director nodes and intelligent stream engine nodes, such as permanent storage devices with network interfaces. The stream director node receives a streaming media request and enqueues the request until all resources on a path from the stream engine node having the media object being requested to the user/client system have been reserved. Once reserved, the enqueued request is then serviced by requesting the stream object from the stream engine node, which then transfers the requested stream object between the stream engine node and the user/client system over the prepared path without involving the stream director node. Upon completion, the prepared path is torn down. In one embodiment the prepared path is a Label Switched Path. A provision is made for balancing the load among the stream engine nodes by duplicating stream objects on other stream engine nodes.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RESOURCE ALLOCATION

A computer-implemented for allocating resources is disclosed. The method includes: receiving, from a client device associated with an entity, input including a selection of a first operation; obtaining a threshold quantity of resources associated with the first operation; allocating a first quantity of resources associated with the entity to the first operation; detecting a trigger condition for obtaining resources associated with the first operation; and in response to detecting the trigger condition for obtaining resources associated with the first operation: determining a second quantity of resources associated with the entity for allocation to the first operation based on a difference between the threshold quantity of resources associated with the first operation and the first quantity of resources; and transmitting, to the client device, a signal representing a message indicating the second quantity of resources.
