20170244649 · 2017-08-24 · ·

There is disclosed a method of and system for providing access to a file from a user to a web resource, without the web resource needing to store the file on its server. The method is executable at a first server, comprising receiving identification information from the user, via a communication network, from a second server, the second server storing the web resource, the identification information having been generated by the user having accessed the web resource, via an electronic device associated with the user, indicated a desire to provide access to the file to the web resource, been presented a form via the web resource, and entered identifying information into the form, accessing a user-associated storage account for the user based upon the identification information, the user-associated storage account being maintained at the first server, receiving a selection, via the form, from the user of the file to be accessed by the second server from files stored in the user-associated storage account, creating a file link to the file stored in the user-associated storage account and transmitting to the web resource the file link to the file stored in the user-associated storage account, the file link configured to allow the second server to access the file stored on the first server without having to (i) transmit the file via the communication network from the first server to the second server and (ii) store it on the second server, the file becoming accessible to both the first server and the second server.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ESTABLISHING IN-FLIGHT NETWORK TRAFFIC POLICIES FOR PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES
20170245298 · 2017-08-24 ·

Methods and systems establish a traffic policy for a personal electronic device based on one or more physical characteristics of the device. In some aspects, a database of traffic policies is maintained. The traffic policies are for accessing a network via a wireless communications link. A network access unit receives a request from a personal electronic device to access the network. The request is analyzed to determine a physical characteristic of the device. A traffic policy is established from the database for the a personal electronic device based, at least in part, on the determined physical characteristic of the device. Transmission of network traffic for the device is then scheduled based at least in part, on the established traffic policy.

RESOURCES ALLOCATION FOR UN-MANAGED COMMUNICATION LINKS

A communication system includes a communication network and a communication system node. The communication system node communicates with the communication network via a first communication link, and establishes a second communication link with at least one user equipment to allow the user equipment to connect to the communication network. The second communication link is an unmanaged communication link. A backhauling provider module associated with the communication network dynamically allocates backhauling resources to the first communication link for data transmission between the node and the communication network based on the user equipment's parameters.

System and method for increasing flexibility and high availability in remote network devices

A network node is provided for use with a broadband data provider facility, and first and second subscriber groups, the broadband data provider facility being operable to provide first and second service group provider data. The network node includes a network access device and a downstream configuration component. The network access device converts the first and second service group provider data into first and second service group network access data, respectively. The downstream configuration component receives a configuration instruction, the first and second service group network access data and, based on the configuration instruction, provides the first service group network access data to the first subscriber group and the second service group network access data to the second subscriber group. The downstream configuration component further receives a second configuration instruction and, based on the second configuration instruction, provides the first service group network access data to the first and second subscriber groups.

Content delivery methods and systems

Aspects of the present disclosure involve provisioning customers of an aggregator, such as a reseller, of a content delivery network (CDN). Content requests to the CDN are processed in accordance with the virtual IP (VIP) address at which the request was received, according to a property template bound to the VIP. The template is selected by the customer and involves discrete parameters for the reseller. Cache fills of the network are processed without direct knowledge by the CDN of the customer origin through a combination of some request attribute, e.g., alias host of the customer, and an attribute of the reseller to make a DNS request to a name server outside the CDN. Another aspect involves receiving a property template selection, an origin and an alias from a customer of the reseller, and providing appropriate DNS entries to validate the customer and provide origin information to the CDN.

System and method for ensuring subscriber fairness using outlier detection

Various embodiments of the present invention relating to a subscriber fairness solution are disclosed. The subscriber fairness solution contemplates a variety of improved techniques for using a flow-based statistical collection mechanism to monitor subscriber usage across various attributes (e.g., subscriber byte count, flow count, etc.) and maintain subscriber usage information for different time frames. In embodiments, the subscriber fairness solution includes a detection phase and a mitigation phase. In the detection phase, “outliers,” or subscribers who are using more than their fair share of network resources, are identified. In the mitigation phase, appropriate action is taken to resolve the constraints on the network resources, caused by these outliers. The subscriber fairness solution may be embodied in hardware, software, or a composite approach of both hardware and software.

Systems and methods for allocation of classes of service to network connections corresponding to virtual channels
09813346 · 2017-11-07 · ·

A system for allocating a different class of service to each network connection in a plurality of network connections, where each network connection corresponds to one or more virtual channels. The system can include a plurality of virtual channels that connect a first computer and a second computer. Each virtual channel can service at least a portion of the network traffic generated using a remote-display protocol. The system can also include a plurality of network connections, where each network connection corresponds to at least one of the virtual channels. Each network connection of the system can have an assigned port number and an assigned class of service that corresponds to a transmission priority level. The class of service assigned to each network connection can be unique from the classes of service assigned to other network connections.

Embodiments of the present application relate to the technical field of computers, and in particular, to a method and a server for displaying access content, which are used to resolve the problem existing in the prior art that because information is inaccurately transmitted, a user may interrupt access or perform repeated access, causing a resource waste for a computer system or an Internet system. According to the embodiments of the present application, access content requested by a first user is determined according to an access request of the first user, a presentation identifier corresponding to a second user identifier comprised in the access content is determined, and the access content is returned to the first user, so that a peer end displays the received presentation identifier, thereby improving accuracy of information transmission, reducing the occurrence of interrupted access or repeated access of a user due to inaccurate information transmission, and reducing the resource waste caused for a computer system or an Internet system.
