Fallback command in a modular control system
A device may include a memory storing instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to receive an instruction from an administration device; identify a link selector in the instruction that corresponds to a resource attribute of a first resource that specifies how a second resource is to be controlled by the first resource; query a database of contracts between resources to determine that the second resource is available to be controlled by the first resource, based on resource contracts associated with the second resource. The processor may be further configured to generate a resource contract between the first resource and the second resource that indicates the second resource is controlled by the first resource and enable the first resource to communicate with the second resource in accordance with the generated resource contract.
Reconfigurable computing pods using optical networks
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including an apparatus for generating clusters of building blocks of compute nodes using an optical network. In one aspect, a method includes receiving request data specifying requested compute nodes for a computing workload. The request data specifies a target n-dimensional arrangement of the compute nodes. A selection is made, from a superpod that includes a set of building blocks that each include an m-dimensional arrangement of compute nodes, a subset of the building blocks that, when combined, match the target n-dimensional arrangement specified by the request data. The set of building blocks are connected to an optical network that includes one or more optical circuit switches. A workload cluster of compute nodes that includes the subset of the building blocks is generated. The generating includes configuring, for each dimension of the workload cluster, respective routing data for the one or more optical circuit switches.
SECURE ONBOARDING OF COMPUTING DEVICES USING BLOCKCHAIN
Systems and methods are described for onboarding a new device to a blockchain secured network. A trusted device that is already enrolled on the blockchain can receive information from a new device. The new device can send an onboarding request to a server through a non-blockchain secured Application Programming Interface (“API”). The trusted device can send an onboarding request for the new device through a blockchain secured API. The server can receive the requests and match them. The server can authenticate the two devices and send a request to a blockchain consensus to add the new device to the blockchain with the trusted device as a referral. The blockchain consensus can add the new device to the blockchain and notify the server. The server can notify the new device, and the new device can begin communicating through the blockchain secured API or directly with other devices on the blockchain.
Technologies for flexible and automatic mapping of disaggregated network communication resources
Technologies for dynamic allocation of network communication resources includes a resource manager server to allocate a set of network communication resources to a compute device through an expansion bus switch that is coupled to the compute device and to the network communication resources. The resource manager server obtains telemetry data indicative of a present utilization of the allocated set of network communication resources and determines whether the present utilization satisfies a predefined utilization threshold. Additionally, the resource manager server adjusts, through the expansion bus switch and in response to a determination that the present utilization does not satisfy the predefined utilization threshold, an amount of network communication resources in the set to the compute device.
AUTOMATED DECISION TECHNIQUES FOR CONTROLLING RESOURCE ACCESS
A durability assessment system may receive a request, from a computing system, for a durability index describing an entity. The durability assessment system may determine the durability index based on information about the resource usage by the entity, such as a resource availability score or a resource allocation score. The durability assessment system may compare the obtained resource availability score and resource allocation score to ranges associated with a set of durability indices. Based on the comparison, the durability assessment system may determine a durability index for the entity. The durability index may indicate an ability of the entity to return accessed resources. In some cases, the durability assessment system may provide the durability index to an allocation computing system that is configured to determine whether to grant access to resources based on the durability index.
System for request aggregation in cloud computing services
Cloud-based computing systems, although claimed to have virtually unlimited resources, could get oversubscribed due to budget constraints of cloud users. The disclosed invention proposes a mechanism to identify various types of “mergeable” tasks. The system also determines when it is appropriate to aggregate tasks and how to allocate them so that the QoS of other tasks is not affected. Experimental results under real-world workload settings show that the disclosed system can improve robustness of the system in the face of oversubscription and also saves the overall time of using cloud services by more than 14%.
Deduplicated data distribution techniques
In connection with a data distribution architecture, client-side “deduplication” techniques may be utilized for data transfers occurring among various file system nodes. In some examples, these deduplication techniques involve fingerprinting file system elements that are being shared and transferred, and dividing each file into separate units referred to as “blocks” or “chunks.” These separate units may be used for independently rebuilding a file from local and remote collections, storage locations, or sources. The deduplication techniques may be applied to data transfers to prevent unnecessary data transfers, and to reduce the amount of bandwidth, processing power, and memory used to synchronize and transfer data among the file system nodes. The described deduplication concepts may also be applied for purposes of efficient file replication, data transfers, and file system events occurring within and among networks and file system nodes.
Enhanced real-time linking methods and systems
Systems and methods for enabling links between various devices is provided. The systems and methods may include a platform that enables different devices to access spatial models of a resource. The platform may enable the different devices to define and/or modify assignment conditions for access rights to resources. Further, the platform may enable definition of assignment conditions before or after the access rights are available for assignment.
Systems and methods for dynamically allocating resources based on configurable resource priority
A system described herein may provide a technique for the dynamic selection of configurable resources in an environment that includes a hierarchical or otherwise differentiated arrangement of configurable resources. The environment may include, or may be implemented by, a Distributed Resource Network (“DRN”), which may include hardware or virtual resources that may be configured, including the instantiation of containers, virtual machines, Virtualized Network Functions (“VNFs”), or the like. The DRN may be hierarchical in that some resources of the DRN may provide services to, and/or may otherwise be accessible to, a greater quantity of elements of the DRN or some other network.
Resource management server, control method, and non-transitory storage medium
This resource management server includes a controller, a communicator that communicates with a license management server which manages a license, and a storage. The storage stores resource information. The controller acquires license information from the license management server via the communicator, and activates resources stored by the storage, starting from a highest priority resource, based on the license information.
