System and method for tag based resource limits or quotas in a cloud infrastructure environment
Systems and methods described herein support tag based resource limits or quotas in a cloud infrastructure environment. Cloud administrators do not generally have the ability to restrict resource usage in existing clouds. Granting a user permission to create resources allows them to create any number of resources up to a predefined account limit. Tags are associated with resources for allowing administrators to restrict a user's resource usage to the appropriate level by allowing fine-tuned cost control. A usage of resources in a tenancy associated with a resource tag corresponding to a request characteristic of a request to provision a resource is determined and compared against a plurality of tag-based quotas, wherein the request to provision the resource is dropped based on the determined usage exceeding one of the plurality of tag-based quotas.
MULTI SUBSCRIPTION NETWORK PRIORITIZATION
Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate prioritization of users and/or devices. For example, wireless communication systems may benefit from multi-subscription network prioritization, such as systems for prioritizing subscribers with multiple subscriptions that are using fewer devices than they have subscriptions. A method can include determining that a device is associated with a plurality of subscriptions. The method can also include determining at least one related device is not in use, wherein the at least one related device is associated with same plurality of subscriptions. The method can further include assigning a higher priority to the device based on the determinations that the device has the plurality of associated subscriptions and has at least one related device not in use.
RESOURCE ACCESS BASED ON SUPERVISORY-SUBORDINATE RELATIONSHIP
A processing device includes processing circuitry and non-volatile storage configured to store management information that identifies supervisor-subordinate relationships among users. The processing circuitry receives a request from a first user, wherein the request includes a request to alter access rights of a second user to a network resource. The processing circuitry establishes authorization of the first user to request access to the network resource based on information included in a directory services database, and retrieves management information associated with the first user and the second user from the non-volatile storage. The processing circuitry determines whether a supervisor-subordinate relationship exists between the first user and the second user based on the management information associated with the first user and the second user, and alters the access rights of the second user to the network resource, at least partly in response to determining that the supervisor-subordinate relationship between the first user and the second user exists.
RESOURCE EVALUATION FOR COMPLEX TASK EXECUTION
The global proliferation of high speed communication networks has created unprecedented opportunities for geographically distributed resource identification, evaluation, selection, and allocation. However, while the opportunities exist and continue to grow, the realization of those opportunities has fallen behind. A dynamic resource assessment system helps to solve the enormous technical challenges of finding the resources, evaluating the resources, and determining how to allocate the resources to achieve the highest likelihood of successfully completing the task.
Data plane interface network quality of service in multi-tenant data centers
Methods, apparatus, and systems for data plane interface network Quality of Service (QoS) in multi-tenant data centers. Data plane operations including packet generation and encapsulation are performed in software running in virtual machines (VMs) or containers hosted by a compute platform. Control plane operations, including QoS traffic classification, are implemented in hardware by a network controller. Work submission and work completion queues are implemented in software for each VM or container. Work elements (WEs) defining work to be completed by the network controller are generated by software and processed by the network controller to classify packets associated with the WEs into QoS traffic classes, wherein packets belonging to a give traffic flow are classified to the same QoS traffic class. The network controller is also configured to perform scheduling of packet egress as a function of the packet's QoS traffic classifications, to transmit packets that are scheduled for egress onto the network, and to DMA indicia to the work completion queues to indicate the work associated with WEs has been completed.
Method for allocating resources in a mesh communications network, computer program, information storage means and node device
For allocating resources in a mesh communications network for setting up a data stream transmission from a talker device to a listener device via at least one node device, data paths being defined throughout the mesh communications network following a link-state routing protocol, each node device performs receiving, obtaining, determining, and checking. And when there are enough said resources, temporarily reserving and propagating. And when receiving for said data stream transmission a stream reservation response representative of a positive acknowledgement to said stream reservation request, effectively allocating and propagating.
Upstream bandwidth management methods and apparatus
A system and method for managing bandwidth of an upstream communications channel in a communications system.
System for managing data center asset resource load balance
A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for performing a data center monitoring and management operation. The data center monitoring and management operation includes: identifying a plurality of asset resources within a data center; monitoring workloads within the data center, the monitoring providing data center workload data, the data center workload data including asset resource utilization data; determining whether certain asset resources are underutilized; presenting a load balance configurator user interface, the load balance configurator user interface enabling allocation of asset resources to target workloads; and, performing a data center asset allocation operation, the data center asset allocation operation reallocating workloads in response to the allocation of asset resources to target workloads.
Method and arrangement for admission control based on priority level based differentiation
The invention relates to a network node and a method therein for admission control in a wireless communication system. The method comprises receiving a request for a bearer setup from a requesting entity, where the request and/or bearer is associated with a priority level P. The method further comprises obtaining, e.g. receiving or retrieving, reports indicating a priority blocking level, BLi, per monitored system resource, i, needed for setting up a bearer. The method further comprises determining a general priority blocking level BLG, based on the reports. Further, the method comprises deciding whether to accept or reject the request for a bearer setup based on the priority level P and the general priority blocking level BLG.
