This application provides a communication method and apparatus. In the method, a first network element creates a buffer queue based on a request of a second network element. Further, the first network element collects data of a corresponding type, sends data in the buffer queue to the second network element, and releases corresponding storage space after the second network element completes a data collection task. In this way, utilization of storage space of the first network element is improved, thereby solving the problem in the conventional technology that the first network element needs to have relatively large storage space capacity.

ARCHITECTURE FOR WIRELESS AVIONICS COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

Embodiments of the invention include methods and systems for architectures for wireless avionics communication networks. The embodiments further include detecting a signal strength of wireless nodes, assigning a primary data controller and standby data controller for each of the wireless nodes based at least in part on the signal strength, and generating a deployment matrix based on the assignment of the primary data controller and the standby data controller. The embodiments also include broadcasting the deployment matrix over a wired connection, allocating a buffer size based on data rates of each of the wireless nodes connected to the primary data controller and the standby data controller, and exchanging data based on the deployment matrix.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SINGLE ENTITY BUFFER POOL MANAGEMENT

Methods and apparatus for efficient data transfer within a user space network stack. Unlike prior art monolithic networking stacks, the exemplary networking stack architecture described hereinafter includes various components that span multiple domains (both in-kernel, and non-kernel). For example, unlike traditional socket based communication, disclosed embodiments can transfer data directly between the kernel and user space domains. Direct transfer reduces the per-byte and per-packet costs relative to socket based communication. A user space networking stack is disclosed that enables extensible, cross-platform-capable, user space control of the networking protocol stack functionality. The user space networking stack facilitates tighter integration between the protocol layers (including TLS) and the application or daemon. Exemplary systems can support multiple networking protocol stack instances (including an in-kernel traditional network stack).

Methods and apparatus for active queue management in user space networking stacks. Additionally, user space networking stacks require a new flow control methodology that is responsive to networking congestion and/or packet loss. For example, embodiments of the present disclosure introduce a flow advisory table that may, for example, utilize an eventing methodology for active queue management in addition to, or alternatively then, legacy active queue management. Exemplary systems can support multiple networking protocol stack instances (including an in-kernel traditional network stack) as well as flow advisory tables (and legacy active queue management).
