Determining IP addresses that are associated with physical locations with new occupants and providing advertisements tailored to new movers to one or more of those IP addresses
Methods related to determining and utilizing one or more attributes to associate with an IP addresses. Attributes are determined based on request data provided with requests from an IP address and one or more available secondary information sources. Attributes may include physical locations and/or category designations for the IP address. One or more attributes may be assigned a likelihood value indicative of likelihood that the attribute is associated with the IP address. Some implementations are directed to utilizing the attributes and likelihood values to identify likely fraudulent information provided with requests. Some implementations are directed to utilizing the attributes and likelihood values to provide advertisements in response to requests from IP addresses.
Storage router and method for providing virtual local storage
A storage router and method for providing virtual local storage on remote storage devices to devices are provided. Devices are connected to a first transport medium, and a plurality of storage devices are connected to a second transport medium. In one embodiment, the storage router maintains a map to allocate storage space on the remote storage devices to devices connected to the first transport medium by associating representations of the devices connected to the first transport medium with representations of storage space on the remote storage devices, wherein each representation of a device connected to the first transport medium is associated with one or more representations of storage space on the remote storage devices. The storage router can control access from the devices connected to the first transport medium to the storage space on the remote storage devices in accordance with the access controls.
DOMAIN NAME RESOLUTION METHOD AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
One embodiment of the present disclosure provides a domain name resolution method and electronic device, where the domain name resolution method includes: receiving a domain name resolution request sent by a terminal device; acquiring domain name information from the domain name resolution request and acquiring IP addresses of multiple servers corresponding to the domain name information; selecting a server with a minimum load among the multiple servers; and sending an IP address of the server with a minimum load to the terminal device, so that the terminal device accesses the server with a minimum load. The domain name resolution method and apparatus of some embodiments of the present invention implement feeding back an IP address of a server with a minimum load to a terminal device when the terminal device sends a domain name resolution request, so as to increase a speed of the terminal device accessing a network and improve network experience of a user.
CONTENT DELIVERY ACROSS HETEROGENEOUS NETWORKS
A system is provided for content delivery across heterogeneous networks. The system may store a database of unified identity codes (UICs) for respective categories of information, and in-network addresses of in-network subscriber nodes subscribed to the respective categories of information. At least one in-network subscriber node may be a gateway node of and between a heterogeneous network and another heterogeneous network that includes an out-of-network subscriber node. The system may receive a query including a UIC for a category of information to which one or more in-network subscriber nodes are subscribed, and in response thereto retrieve from the database using the UIC, one or more in-network addresses for the one or more in-network subscriber nodes. The system may also reply to the query with the one or more in-network addresses for use by the source node to transmit content to the one or more in-network subscriber nodes.
Message routing
Methods, devices, signals, and systems are provided in a message routing architecture which provides improved capabilities for integrating “digital” communication through email messages with “analog” communication through voice and/or fax or pager messages. Email can be addressed using nothing more than a standard telephone or fax number. If the registered owner of the telephone or fax number has a corresponding email address, then the invention converts the telephone or fax number to the email address for delivery and uses standard email delivery systems to deliver the message. If no conventional delivery email address is known, or if the message sender or recipient specify multiple delivery modes, then the email message content is transformed into voice, pager and/or fax content and delivered to the recipient using the telephone or fax number which was specified as the email address. Familiar telecommunications services such as call forwarding and selective call blocking can also be used with messages that originate as email. The invention also supports use of telecommunications numbers as indexes into databases which contain public key certificates, to make it unnecessary for a proposed message recipient to provide its public key expressly in advance to each particular proposed message originator.
Unified services platform using a telephone number as a common subscriber identifier
A system and method for enabling the telephone number as a platform for the association of IP-enabled services with legacy telephone service. A unified services enabler platform may be utilized to associate a customer and their telephone number with a variety of services and applications from multiple different ecosystems. The customer can continue to use their existing telephone service and in addition can utilize new IP-enabled features that are associated with their telephone number as the common ID.
USER EQUIPMENT REGISTRATION METHOD, ENTITY, SYSTEM AND COMPUTER STORAGE MEDIUM
Disclosures are a user equipment (UE) registration method, entity, system and a computer storage medium. The method comprises: a common service entity (CSE) in a UE sending an equipment registration request to a machine type communication-inter working function entity (MTC-IWF), wherein the equipment registration request contains an identifier of the UE in an underlying network, an application port identifier of the UE, an identifier of a machine-to-machine/man (M2M) service provider subscribed to by the UE, and an identifier of an application entity (AE) of the M2M service provider.
System, method, and device to configure devices via a remote with biometrics
A set-top box apparatus includes at least one input module to receive one or more media content streams, at least one memory device, an Ethernet port, at least one wireless transceiver to access a communications network to enable communication with at least one external media player device, an HDMI connector to provide a communication path to a multimedia presentation device, wherein the set-top box apparatus is configured to process at least one of the received one or more media content streams from the at least one input module into multimedia data, to send the one or more received media content streams to the at least one memory device to be stored, and to convey the multimedia data on the communication path to the multimedia presentation device.
Scalable address resolution in a communications environment
A generic address resolution system facilitates communications among multiple network applications with heterogeneous addressing mechanisms, thereby allowing the network applications to interoperate with each other and/or with modules for providing enhanced functionalities. The address resolution system includes a resource mapping module that modularizes the components needed for address resolution and abstracts content from the underlying address types and content used by the network applications. The address resolution system includes a context engine that analyzes the addressing data to be resolved, selects one or more appropriate destination network applications based on contextual rules, and creates the application mapping template for the end-end routing of the communications among the network applications.
Identifiers and triggers for capillary devices
Methods and apparatuses for capillary network device registration implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) are disclosed. Registration or bootstrap messages may be received by a capillary network device where the WTRU acts as a gateway for communication between the capillary device and a network such as a 3GPP network. A capillary network device identifier (CNDID) is sent to the capillary device. A packet data protocol (PDP) context or PDN connection may be established with the network and the CNDID may be sent to a machine type communications (MTC) server. The WTRU may create the registration message, establish a connection with the network, and forward the registration message to the MTC server. Methods and apparatuses implemented in a network are also disclosed for identifying, addressing, and triggering the capillary devices from the MTC server. The trigger message may include fields for group communication, reducing signaling, and enabling charging.
