Embodiments relate to systems, devices, computer-readable media, and computer-implemented methods for generating domain name suggestions by receiving an input string via a user interface, determining an alternative of the input string, determining affixes of the input string, determining top level domains associated with the input string, determining registration availability of domain names including one-step string sequences from the input string based on the alternative input string, the affixes of the input string, and the top level domains associated with the input string, and generating a display for the user interface, where the display includes: the input string, the alternative of the input string, the affixes of the input string, and the top level domains associated with the input string; and indications of the registration availability of the domains names including the one-step string sequences.

Domain name suggestion and registration via chatbot

Techniques for providing domain name suggestions to a user that is a prospective registrant via chatbot are disclosed. The techniques include providing a publicly available online chatbot to the user; requesting domain name generation data from the user via the chatbot and during a chatbot session with the user; receiving domain name generation data based on the requesting; generating a plurality of generated domain names using the domain name generation data; filtering registered domain names out of the plurality of generated domain names to produce a plurality of unregistered generated domain names; offering to register at least one of the unregistered generated domain names to the user; receiving an offer acceptance from the user; directing the user, via the chatbot, to provide information sufficient to register the at least one of the unregistered generated domain names; and facilitating registration of the at least one of the unregistered generated domain names.

DOMAIN NAME REGISTRY DATABASE

Presented herein are methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and devices for providing and managing a Top-Level Domain that uniquely identifies an object or a role The method may comprise linking the domain name with an object (e.g., an artwork) by adding approximately eight additional fields to the domain name “Whois” record. “Whatis” (the combination of existing “Whois” and a number of additional fields) directly links the domain name, the registrant, and an (art) object. Any or all of the additional fields can be employed in many varieties of ways as a link and identification with objects or roles, transferring with the ownership of an object or, say, title or position of a role.

Whitelist domain name registry

Systems and methods for managing domain name registrations in accordance with rules and regulations of a domain name verification system are disclosed. The disclosed technology enables a domain name verification system to regulate the registration of domain names in accordance with its own domain name registration policies. This disclosed system uses a “whitelist” domain name registry to register “whitelist domain names” once pre-approval to register a corresponding target domain name has been granted. In this manner, the whitelist domain name registry system acts as a repository for pre-approved domain name registrations and enables pre-qualified registrants (including potential or prospective registrants) to then register a target domain name.

Systems and methods for IP mass host verification

Systems, methods and products for identifying IP mass hosts and determining whether they are good or bad. One embodiment is a method including selecting a first candidate IP address, identifying a set of domains hosted at the IP address, and identifying registrants of the domains. A number of unique ones of the registrants is determined and if the number of unique registrants exceeds a threshold number, the candidate IP address is deemed an IP mass host. Otherwise, the candidate IP address is deemed not to be an IP mass host. For an IP mass host, domains that have bad reputations are identified, and it is determined whether the bad domains comprise at least a threshold percentage of the total hosted domains. If the IP mass host has at least the threshold percentage of bad domains, the IP mass host is deemed a bad mass host.

Domain name hijack protection
09848015 · 2017-12-19 · ·

A domain name registering entity (such as a domain registry, registrar, or reseller) or an independent proxy registration service may offer a domain name hijack protection to their actual or potential customers. When a domain name transfer request or notice is received, the domain name registering entity or the proxy registration service may ignore or decline it. Customers may be given an ability to turn the domain name hijack protection service on and off, as well as an ability to adjust a variety of settings associated with the service.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION USING A CACHE

A system for allocating domain name acquisition resources is provided. The system performs a method comprising: obtaining, at a database, a list of domain names that are to be deleted during a first time window; updating a drop catch table in the database, wherein the drop catch table comprises a second list of domain names that are to be deleted; refreshing a cache in an application server that provides DNS services based on the drop catch table; obtaining, at the application server, a EPP command from a registrar to register a domain name from the drop catch table that is about to be deleted during a second time window; determining, based on the cache, that the domain name to be registered is available to be registered; updating a flag for the domain name in the cache indicating that the domain name is registered; and providing an acknowledgment to the registrar.

Systems and methods for providing secure access to shared registration systems

Embodiments relate to systems, devices, and computer-implemented methods for providing secure access to a shared registration system of a domain name registry by generating authorization information associated with a domain name, storing the authorization information in an archive, receiving, from a non-registrar service provider, a request for access to functionality of a shared registration system of the domain name registry, where the request is associated with the domain name and includes authorization information, determining whether the received authorization information is valid using the archived authorization information, and allowing the non-registrar service provider access to the functionality of the SRS based on a determination that the second authorization information is valid.

VERIFYING CHARACTER SETS IN DOMAIN NAME REQUESTS
20170331782 · 2017-11-16 ·

Systems and methods of the present invention provide for one or more server computers communicatively coupled to a network and configured to: create a data table of characters, where each character in the data table is assigned a false Boolean value; for each character found in each domain name in a DNS file, update the Boolean value to true; receive a domain search request comprising a token and a TLD; generate candidate domain names using the token and the TLD; query the database to determine if any character in the domain name has the false Boolean value in the data table; and if so, remove the domain name from the candidate domain names.

AUTO COMPLETING DOMAIN NAMES COMPRISING MULTIPLE LANGUAGES

Systems and methods of the present invention provide for one or more server computers communicatively coupled to a network and configured to: monitor a character stream; identify characters comprising a domain name request; identify a token in a language character map comprising the characters and associated with a language; generate, using a software translation engine, a translation of the first token into a second language; generate candidate domain names comprising: a domain name comprising the token; and a second domain name comprising the second token; modify, in real time, a user interface control to display the list of candidate domain names.
