Specifying a User Group in a Multicast Domain Name System
An access point that selectively provides a multicast domain name system (mDNS) message is described. During operation, the access point may receive an mDNS message, where the mDNS message includes an identifier of a group (such as a user group). For example, the identifier of the group may be included in the mDNS message when the mDNS message includes discovery information for a service. Moreover, the identifier may specify the portion of a subnet in a wireless local area network (WLAN) in a geographic region, such as a room, a floor or a building. Then, the access point may determine whether the access point or an electronic device is included in the group. When the access point or the electronic device is in the group, the access point may selectively provide the mDNS message addressed to the electronic device. Otherwise, the access point may drop the mDNS message.
Systems and Methods for Generating Contextual Labels
In one embodiment, an apparatus includes one or more processors and one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media coupled to the one or more processors. The one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media include instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to perform operations including receiving a user credential from a remote access client within a network and communicating the user credential to an authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) server within the network. The operations also include receiving a user attribute from the AAA server and generating a contextual label based on the user attribute. The contextual label includes routing instructions associated with traffic behavior within the network. The operations further include advertising a control message, which includes the contextual label, to the remote access client.

Some embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for implementing discovery frames and group addressed frames communication. For example, some embodiments relate to a method including generating a first frame to be transmitted to a first electronic device. An association identifier (AID) value of the first frame is set to a first value to indicate that the first frame is an individually addressed frame addressed to the first electronic device. The method further includes generating a second frame to be transmitted to a group of one or more electronic devices. An AID value of the second frame is set to a second value different from the first value. The method also includes transmitting the first frame and the second frame.

GATEWAY SYSTEM, DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION METHOD
Embodiments of the present invention provide a gateway system and a communication method. The gateway system includes: a control plane entity, connected or integrated with a mobility management network element, and configured to allocate an IP address to UE and configure a data path for connecting a user plane entity with an RAN, a PDN or another gateway; one or more user plane entities, located between the PDN and the RAN, independent of the control plane entity, configured to forward data on the data path configured by the control plane entity. The gateway system is composed of the control plane entity and the user plane entity which are independent of each other, the number of the user plane entities may be independently changed to adapt to the change of network traffic without replacing all gateway entities, the network deployment is more convenient and the cost is lower.

Methods and systems are described for assigning the proper internet protocol (IP) address to a client device following authentication of the client device on a network. In particular, at commencement of an authentication procedure of the client device, a role is associated with the client device that denies all DHCP renews/requests. By assigning a role to the client device 103 with a “deny DHCP renew/request” rule at the commencement of an authentication procedure, the systems and methods described herein ensure that a race condition does not allow the client device to renew an IP address in an old segment of the network. Accordingly, the client device may avoid a possibly improper IP address in a segment of the network system in which the client device is no longer associated with or operating on.
