Voice over IP method for developing interactive voice response system

A process performed by a personal interactive voice communication system includes accepting settings of interactive voice communication system prompts for a communication address to which communications are received by the personal interactive voice communication system. The process includes mapping, in response to instructions specific to the network communication address, actions to correspond to selections of set interactive voice communication system prompts. The process also includes identifying a selection of an interactive voice communication system prompt and executing a mapped action corresponding to the selection identified. Voice communications to and from the personal interactive voice communication system are transmitted as packets over the internet via a network server that coordinates communications for personal interactive voice communication systems.

A method involves acts of receiving a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) request, initiating by a computing device having a processor, a SIP session as a result of receiving the SIP request, executing, by the processor, a state chart implemented in the SIP server, communicating events by the computing device to the state chart, as the events occur in the SIP session, and changing states in the SIP session by the computing device, as the states are defined in the state chart, to completion of the SIP session.

System and method for executing originating services in a terminating network for IMS and non-IMS applications

A mobile application gateway for connecting devices on a cellular network with individual networks, such as enterprise voice and data networks and/or residential networks. The effects of the present invention are far reaching in terms of transferring effective call control from the cellular network into the control of the individual network such as the enterprise, and enabling new business models for the purchase of cellular service from a public cellular carrier by an enterprise. The invention may consist of a primarily of core network and services components based on the IMS network architecture, and is backward compatible to support legacy systems in place in current telecom and data networks.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MIGRATING ACTIVE COMMUNICATION SESSION BETWEEN TERMINALS

An apparatus and method are disclosed for migrating between terminals. An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a network proxy having a controller that manages a communications interface in a communication system. The controller can be programmed to receive a request to migrate a first terminal to a third terminal while active communications are taking place on a first voice channel connecting the first terminal to a second terminal, establish a second voice channel with the third terminal, connect the first and second voice channels, and terminate without action of an end user of the first terminal a connection between the first terminal and the first voice channel. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

A mobile application gateway configured to interconnect mobile communication devices on a cellular network with an enterprise network is provided. The mobile application gateway includes a voice and data signaling gateway configured to provide routing functionalities, service functionalities and admission control. A gateway GPRS support node (GGSN) is configured to establish a secure data session between one or more of the mobile communication devices and the enterprise network by establishing a GPRS tunneling protocol (GTP) tunnel between a carrier-hosted serving GPRS support node (SGSN) and the GGSN.

Real-time sessions quality-of-service over reservation-based access

A collection of methods, which when combined together provide suitable bandwidth resources for real-time content exchange over a satellite-based network, wherein the network employs a reservation-based access scheme, such as but not limited to DVB-RCS. Furthermore, the methods provide suitable bandwidth wherein transmission conditions deteriorate while real-time content is being exchanged and the already allocated resources can no longer be used.

Communications network using a tunnel to connect two network nodes

A session admission process is provided which identifies the weakest link in a route between a first node and a second node and determines if the route is able to cope if the session is admitted. The suitability of a link is determined on the basis of: historical link performance; the predicted future performance of the link; and the predicted future demands on the link from other sessions supported by that link.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DISPATCHING RECEIVED SESSIONS BETWEEN A PLURALITY OF INSTANCES OF AN APPLICATION USING THE SAME IP PORT

A logical module, referred as Load Balancer Module (LBM), is disclosed which listens to one of certain common predefined port number. These well-known ports for receiving communication video conference signaling and control protocols is thereafter load balanced and multi-plexed to a number of instances of protocol stack applications. By balancing the multi-media data stream across a multitude of application instances multiple multi-media data streams may be serviced and processed by a single internet protocol host processor. A mutipoint control unit (MCU) may therefore process multiple input data streams containing multi-media video conferencing information.
