A process performed by a personal interactive voice communication system includes accepting settings of interactive voice communication system prompts for a communication address to which communications are received by the personal interactive voice communication system. The process includes mapping, in response to instructions specific to the network communication address, actions to correspond to selections of set interactive voice communication system prompts. The process also includes identifying a selection of an interactive voice communication system prompt and executing a mapped action corresponding to the selection identified. Voice communications to and from the personal interactive voice communication system are transmitted as packets over the internet via a network server that coordinates communications for personal interactive voice communication systems.

A method involves acts of receiving a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) request, initiating by a computing device having a processor, a SIP session as a result of receiving the SIP request, executing, by the processor, a state chart implemented in the SIP server, communicating events by the computing device to the state chart, as the events occur in the SIP session, and changing states in the SIP session by the computing device, as the states are defined in the state chart, to completion of the SIP session.

A mobile application gateway for connecting devices on a cellular network with individual networks, such as enterprise voice and data networks and/or residential networks. The effects of the present invention are far reaching in terms of transferring effective call control from the cellular network into the control of the individual network such as the enterprise, and enabling new business models for the purchase of cellular service from a public cellular carrier by an enterprise. An apparatus and method are disclosed for migrating between terminals. An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a network proxy having a controller that manages a communications interface in a communication system. The controller can be programmed to receive a request to migrate a first terminal to a third terminal while active communications are taking place on a first voice channel connecting the first terminal to a second terminal, establish a second voice channel with the third terminal, connect the first and second voice channels, and terminate without action of an end user of the first terminal a connection between the first terminal and the first voice channel. A mobile application gateway configured to interconnect mobile communication devices on a cellular network with an enterprise network is provided. The mobile application gateway includes a voice and data signaling gateway configured to provide routing functionalities, service functionalities and admission control. A gateway GPRS support node (GGSN) is configured to establish a secure data session between one or more of the mobile communication devices and the enterprise network by establishing a GPRS tunneling protocol (GTP) tunnel between a carrier-hosted serving GPRS support node (SGSN) and the GGSN.
