VIRTUAL POSITION BASED MANAGEMENT OF COLLABORATION SESSIONS

Improved virtual collaboration environments allow participants in a primary collaboration session to initiate side conversations with fellow participants based on virtual locations of each participant within a virtual collaboration layout. The virtual collaboration layout defines virtual locations of each participant in the collaboration session. If a virtual distance between two participants a below a threshold, the participants are able to engage in a side conversation. Management information is provided to a collaboration session host. The management information indicates, for example, a volume or frequency of communication occurring on each side conversation, or an elapsed time since the side conversation was initiated. The host is also provided with controls that allow the host to issue a warning to side conversation participants, to mute the side conversation, or to change a participant's position within the virtual collaboration layout, thus changing the participant's eligibility to participate in the side conversation.

Recipient-based content optimization in a messaging system

The subject technology determines, by at least one processor, that a value of a capability parameter is not available for a first recipient device, the first recipient device being one of a plurality of recipient devices. The subject technology receives, from the first recipient device, a value of the capability parameter. The subject technology clusters, by at least one processor, the plurality of recipient devices into a plurality of groups of recipient devices based on device capabilities including an available storage space. The subject technology determines, for each group of recipient devices, a set of content parameters compatible with device capabilities of the plurality of recipient devices of a group of client devices. The subject technology generates, for each group of recipient devices, a version of content according to an associated set of content parameters.

Method and system of managing voice call and IP media sessions in a wireless network environment

A network entity and an operating method thereof in a communication system are provided. The method includes establishing a first connection with a user equipment (UE) using a first access technology; receiving, from the UE, via the first connection, capability information on communication with a second cell using a second access technology different from the first access technology; transmitting a first signal to the UE via the first connection; and transmitting, to the UE, via the first connection, configuration information related to the second cell for establishing a second connection between the UE and the second cell. The first cell and the second cell are simultaneously active for the UE.

A plug-in module, which, in combination with a host module, prevents unauthorized copying—like screen captures, screenshots, or screen recordings—of the streaming content provided to a participant in an online content-sharing session via an Instant Messenger (IM) service. The plug-in module may be a part of an IM application running on the participant's system or the host module may transmit a self-installing plug-in module to the participant's system upon receiving an indication that a user is hosting the online session. The plug-in module provides kernel-specific interface of the participant system's Operating System (OS) to the host module, which, then sends an OS-specific instruction to the plug-in module to trigger the OS to disable or control the copying of the streaming content as specified in a privacy preference received from the user hosting the online session. In this manner, sensitive and critical business data may be conveniently and securely shared online.

A presentation service generates an audience interface for an electronic presentation. The audience interface may simulate an in-person presentation, including features such as a central presenter and seat locations for audience members. The audience members may select emotes which may be displayed in the audience interface. The emotes may indicate the audience members' opinion of the content being presented. The presentation service may enable chats between multiple audience members, grouping of audience members private rooms, and other virtual simulations of functions corresponding to in-person presentations.

A first or second computer viewing a virtual canvas may be a host computer for a live source object requiring authorization between a host and a non-host computer by creating a live source window for the live source object requiring authorization (ARLSW) within the virtual canvas on the host computer, sending metadata information for the ARLSW to the non-host computer so that the ARLSW is at the same location on the virtual canvas for the first and second computers, and streaming the live source object requiring authorization to the ARLSW from the host computer to the non-host computer. When the host computer for the ARLSW leaves the virtual canvas and no other non-host computer for ARLSW in the canvas is known to have authorization to view the ARLSW, a placeholder screen is displayed in the ARLSW on the virtual canvas.

Systems and methods for assisting users of artificial reality platforms

The disclosed computer-implemented method may include creating, by an artificial reality platform, a link configured to invite an invitee user to join an inviter user in an instance of an artificial reality application at a current location of the inviter user in the instance. The method may additionally include sharing the link, by the artificial reality platform, with the invitee user, and receiving, by the artificial reality platform, an indication of an activation of the link by the invitee user. The method may further include launching, by the artificial reality platform at least partly in response to receipt of the indication, the instance in an artificial reality device of the invitee user at the current location of the inviter user. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

A method may include receiving, from a first client device, a first position of a selection event at the first client device. The first client device being engaged in a web conference session with a second client device. The second client device sharing a content displayed at the second client device such that the content is also displayed at the first client device. If the first position of the selection event is determined to correspond to a second position of a resource link included in the content being shared by the second client device, information associated with the resource link may be sent to the first client device. The information may enable the first client device to access a resource associated with the resource link by launching a corresponding application such as a browser, a media player, and/or a text editor. Related systems and articles of manufacture are also provided.
