Concurrent browsing interface
Methods, systems, and computer storage media provide a concurrent browsing session. A user interface is provided for display on a first computing device of a first user to facilitate the concurrent browsing session. The user interface simultaneously displays a first browsing screen showing interaction of the first user with a site and a real-time feed of a second browsing screen presented on a second computing device of a second user showing interaction of the second user with the site. A request is received to split payment of a first item in a first digital cart. In response to the request, a first payment interface for a first portion of the payment is provided for display on the first computing device, and a second payment interface for a second portion of the payment is provided for display on the second computing device.
Adaptive streaming with early client indication
Methods and systems for early identification of bitrates for segments in adaptive bitrate streaming can allow the server to begin processing or transcoding content as necessary for delivery, reducing processing and transmission latency. In a first aspect, a client may request a second segment before the first segment has been completely received. The server may begin any transcoding processes for preparing the second segment, and once the server has completed sending the first segment, the server may begin transmitting the now-prepared or partially prepared second segment. The server can then transmit the first and second segment contiguously, with essentially no network dead time. In a second aspect, the client may transmit an early notification of parameters for the request of the second segment, allowing the server to begin transcoding. The client may subsequently request the already-prepared or partially prepared second segment, similarly reducing request-response processing latency.
AUGMENTING VIDEO GAMES WITH ADD-ONS
A computing system is configured to execute a computer program on a server and to provide a video stream of the program output to a geographically remote client over a communication network. An add-on manager is provided to facilitate the use of add-ons to extend the functionality of the computer program. The add-on manager is responsive to commands received from the client and is configured to associate individual add-ons and add-on data with specific user accounts. The add-ons can be located on the server or some other location remote from the client.
METHOD TO INSERT PROGRAM BOUNDARIES IN LINEAR VIDEO FOR ADAPTIVE BITRATE STREAMING
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a system for indicating a program boundary in an adaptive bitrate media stream, where the system includes a memory and a processor that performs operations including generating multiple transcoded media output streams of different bit rates from an input linear media stream, fragmenting the multiple transcoded media output streams into chunks, detecting a program boundary in the input linear media stream, and supplying a program change indicator in a manifest file for implementing program change features in mobile communication devices. Other embodiments are disclosed.
TRANSMISSION DEVICE, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, TRANSMISSION METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT
A transmission device according to an embodiment includes one or more processors. The processors divide a plurality of pieces of transmission data to be transmitted into first data and second data. The processors transmit the first data to a server device configured to distribute the transmission data to a reception device. The processors store the second data in storage. The processors receive, from the reception device or the server device, a request for transmission of the second data. The processors transmit the second data to the server device in accordance with the request for transmission.
IMAGE TRANSMISSION METHOD AND APPARATUS
This disclosure discloses image transmission methods and apparatuses. In an implementation, a method performed by an apparatus includes generating a first data packet, wherein the first data packet comprises a portion of content of a frame of an image and first information indicating frame synchronization and line synchronization and sending the first data packet to a second communications apparatus.
Encoder, decoder, encoding method, and decoding method
An encoder includes memory and circuitry which: (i) encodes an image block; (ii) when encoding the image block: binarizes coefficient information indicating coefficients of the image block; and controls whether to apply arithmetic encoding to a binary data string obtained by binarizing the coefficient information; and (iii) when binarizing the coefficient information: binarizes the coefficient information according to a first syntax structure when arithmetic encoding is applied to the data string and a predetermined condition is not satisfied; binarizes the coefficient information according to a second syntax structure when arithmetic encoding is applied to the data string and the predetermined condition is satisfied; binarizes the coefficient information according to the second syntax structure when no arithmetic encoding is applied to the data string; and subtracts 1 from a value of an initial non-zero coefficient when no arithmetic encoding is applied to the data string when encoding the image block.
METHOD FOR JUST-IN-TIME TRANSCODING OF BYTERANGE-ADDRESSABLE PARTS
A method including: ingesting a video segment and a set of video features of the video segment; estimating a part size distribution for the video segment based on the set of video features and a first rendition of the video segment; calculating a maximum expected part size based on a threshold percentile in the part size distribution; at a first time, transmitting, to an video player, a manifest file indicating a set of byterange-addressable parts of the video segment in the first rendition, each byterange addressed part characterized by the maximum expected part size; at a second time, receiving, a playback request for a first byterange-addressable part; transcoding the first byterange-addressable part; in response to the maximum expected part size exceeding a size of the first byterange-addressable part in the first rendition, appending padding data to the first byterange-addressable part; and transmitting the first byterange-addressable part to the AV player.
Dynamically Switched Multicast Delivery
According to some aspects, methods and systems may include receiving, by computing device from one or more client devices, a plurality of requests for one or more content items formatted in a first format and determining whether to multicast the one or more content items based on a data structure configured with one or more conditions associated with multicasting content. The methods and systems may also include transmitting, to the one or more client devices, the one more content items via one or more multicast streams if the requests meet a first condition of the one or more conditions. The methods and systems may also include formatting the one or more content items in a second format prior to the transmitting if network resources fail to meet a second condition of the one or more conditions.
BLUETOOTH AUDIO STREAMING PASSTHROUGH
A Bluetooth audio streaming passthrough, and a method for transmitting an audio stream over a Bluetooth communication link and disclosed. The method is carried out by a source device. An audio codec configuration and a sampling rate of the audio stream are received, the audio stream coming from a streaming application running on the source device. A Bluetooth audio stream between the source device and a sink device is configured using the received audio codec configuration and sampling rate. The first audio stream is received from the streaming application. The received first audio stream is packetized into the Bluetooth audio stream. The Bluetooth audio stream is transmitted to the sink device over the Bluetooth communication link, including the packetized received audio stream.
