Streaming and downloading of content

Methods, apparatuses, systems, and software are described for providing content to a device comprising streaming content and sending content in a non-streaming manner (e.g., by downloading a file containing the content). In some aspects, switching between streaming and downloading may be performed in a dynamic manner during presentation of the content, and may be seamless to the user's viewing experience.

The system may also comprise a network interface configured to enable the system to exchange media signals with other devices on a common network, and a reference clock configured to provide a common clock signal to the at least one virtual media card, the at least one media interface, and the common network. An advertisement and discovery module configured to identify when the at least one application is started and/or stopped and when the at least one media card is attached and/or detached from the system may also be provided. The advertisement and discovery module is configured to: (i) make I/O channels of the at least one media card available to the system and the common network, and (ii) make I/O channels of the at least one application available to the system and the common network.

Systems and methods for quick start-up of playback

Systems and methods for quick start-up of playback in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. Media content may be encoded in a plurality of alternative streams and a quick start-up stream. The quick start-up stream may include media content that is encoded at a lower quality that the alternative streams and may be encrypted with a different, less secure encryption process than that of the alternative streams. During a start-up of playback, the playback device streams the media content from a quick start-up stream until a metric, such as a decryption key for the alternative streams is met. The device then streams the media content from the alternative streams in response to the metric being met.

Method, system, and intelligent terminal for distributing random data

Methods, devices, and non-transitory computer-readable storage mediums are provided for distributing red envelops. The method includes following steps: generating red envelopes based on a user instruction; receiving a first request for accessing the red envelopes in response to a delay condition being fulfilled; calculating one or more amounts based on an audience number of online audiences at current moment; and placing the one or more amounts at a preset position of a container for displaying.

Correlating scene-based audio data for psychoacoustic audio coding

In general, techniques are described by which to correlate scene-based audio data for psychoacoustic audio coding. A device comprising a memory and one or more processors may be configured to perform the techniques. The memory may store a bitstream including a plurality of encoded correlated components of a soundfield represented by scene-based audio data. The one or more processors may perform psychoacoustic audio decoding with respect to one or more of the plurality of encoded correlated components to obtain a plurality of correlated components, and obtain, from the bitstream, an indication representative of how the one or more of the plurality of correlated components were reordered in the bitstream. The one or more processors may reorder, based on the indication, the plurality of correlated components to obtain a plurality of reordered components, and reconstruct, based on the plurality of reordered components, the scene-based audio data.

Shared augmented reality sessions for rendering video effects

Systems and methods for generating a video including a plurality of graphic objects provided in a shared environment is described. The method includes acquiring, at a first computing device, a shared session identifier from a shared session manager, the shared session identifier being associated with a first user identifier, receiving a selection of a second user identifier, causing the shared session identifier and the first user identifier to be provided to a second computing device associated with the second user identifier, receiving as input, a first graphic object for rendering to a display associated with the first computing device, the first graphic object being associated with the first user identifier, receiving from a data synchronizer, a second graphic object associated with the second user identifier and the shared session identifier for rendering to the display associated with the second computing device, and generating a video including graphic objects.

Timed Media HTTP Request Aggregation

An apparatus may be configured to: transmit, to a client, an indication of one or more request-response overload capabilities; receive, from the client, at least one request for a plurality of media segments based, at least partially, on the indication of the one or more request-response overload capabilities; and transmit, to the client, at least one response comprising the plurality of media segments. The apparatus may be, for example, a media server, an HTTP overload handler, an edge server, a DANE, etc.

The invention relates to a method for streaming and reproducing applications (apps) via a particular telecommunications system. The invention also relates to a telecommunications network. The invention further relates to the use of a telecommunications network of this type for streaming and reproducing applications (apps) via a particular telecommunications system. The invention furthermore relates to an application which makes it possible to configure the download, installation and updating of data on a terminal such that the whole application is fully executable on the terminal while downloading, installing and updating takes place on the terminal.

Method and apparatus for encoding and transmitting at least a spatial part of a video sequence

When encoding and transmitting video data comprising regions of interest, different usages of the regions of interest implicate different kinds of combination of region of interest at decoding. By studying the different impacts of the encoding mechanisms depending on other set of tiles data on the different kind of combination, it is possible to define a plurality of tile set coding dependency levels. Each tile set coding dependency level is linked to a set of constraints on encoding. These set of constraints have different impacts on the possibilities allowed when combining the different regions of interest. It is therefore possible, based on a desired usage, to select an encoding with minimal restrictions, as defined by a given tile coding dependency level, compatible with the desired usage. Accordingly, the encoding efficiency is improved, for a given usage, compared to a solution where a complete tile independency solution is used.

Streaming event content based filtering

A method of per subscription event filtering is provided for an event recordation and distribution system. The method includes receiving an event from the event recordation and distribution system, determining that an event consumer that is a subscriber of an event stream of the event has specified filter logic for the event stream, and forwarding the event to an event consumer in response to the event meeting requirements of the specified filter logic.
