Audio communication methods, devices, and systems, are provided with error correction overwrite for audio artifact reduction. One illustrative low-latency audio streaming method includes: receiving packets of digital audio data; applying an error correction code decoder to obtain a data stream that includes error-corrected data samples; providing a correction-limited data stream by replacing any of the error-corrected data samples that are outliers; and converting the correction-limited data stream into an audio signal.
Delivering tailored audio segments within live audio streams
An online system tailors audio segments for users accessing a live audio stream such that the audio segments can be presented to users during a break of the live audio stream. The audio segment can include interactive content as well as one or both of an audio clip and a standard message, each of which serves as a type of introduction to the interactive content. For each user, the online system analyzes characteristics of the user to determine whether to include the standard message in addition to the audio clip, or to withhold the standard message from the audio segment. Therefore, different users accessing the live audio stream can be appropriately introduced to the interactive content which can improve the likelihood that the users interact with the interactive content.

Systems, devices, and methods for managing capabilities of a 5G media streaming (5GMS) network, including obtaining a streaming access object corresponding to 5GMS media content; obtaining a media service entry based on the streaming access object, wherein the media service entry includes a protocol identifier corresponding to the media service entry, and a service entry uniform resource locator (URL) corresponding to the media service entry; and performing at least one of uplink streaming or downlink streaming of the 5GMS media content based on the media service entry, wherein the media service entry is consistent with a 5GMS M5 interface regardless of whether the media service entry is used for uplink streaming or downlink streaming of the 5GMS media content.

A system and method is provided for performing lossless switching in a redundant multicast network. An exemplary method includes receiving a primary media stream and a redundant media stream over different forwarding network paths by network ports of a receiver communicatively coupled to an A/V device. Furthermore, the receiver outputs media data of the media streams to the A/V device to be presented thereon. In response to a control signal to switch the receiver to a new primary media stream, the method disconnected either the primary ort the redundant media streams from the respective network port of the receiver receiving that stream. Furthermore, the method includes controlling the disconnected network port to receive the new primary media stream and then outputting media data of the new primary media stream to the A/V device to be presented thereon.
SHARING DIGITAL MEDIA ASSETS FOR PRESENTATION WITHIN AN ONLINE SOCIAL NETWORK
A method for reducing the number of images or the length of a video from a digital image collection using a social network, includes receiving a digital image collection captured by a user to be viewed by a viewer; wherein the viewer and the user are members of the same social network and using a processor to access the social network to determine a relationship between a viewer and the user. The method further includes using the processor to determine a set of summarization parameters based on the relationship between the viewer and the user and using the processor to reduce the number of images or the length of the video from the digital image collection using the determined set of summarization parameters to be viewed by the viewer.

Methods, computer readable media, and devices for automated routing based on content metadata are provided. One method may include receiving a user request for content with metadata from a client by a content distribution network (CDN), parsing the user request for content to generate an evaluation of the metadata, determining a routing decision representing a selection of one of a plurality of origin services for the user request for content based on the evaluation of the metadata, transmitting the user request for content to the selected one of the plurality of origin services based on the routing decision, receiving a response to the user request for content from the selected one of the plurality of origin services, and sending the response to the client.

A video decoder can be configured to determine that a block of video data is encoded without transforming residual data for the block; determine a quantization parameter for the block of video data; based on the determined quantization parameter, determine a range for levels of quantized residual values of the block; divide the range into k intervals, wherein k is an integer value; determine a level for a quantized residual value of the block based on the k intervals by receiving information indicating the level for the quantized residual value is within a particular interval of the k intervals, receiving information indicating a difference value that represents a difference between a reference level value for the particular interval and the level for the quantized residual value of the block, and based on the reference level value and the difference value, determining the level for the quantized residual value.

A system and method is provided for performing lossless switching in a redundant multicast network. An exemplary method includes receiving a primary media stream and a redundant media stream over different forwarding network paths by network ports of a receiver communicatively coupled to an A/V device. Furthermore, the receiver outputs media data of the media streams to the A/V device to be presented thereon.
