System and method for compressing streaming interactive video
A computer-implemented method is provided. The method includes executing a video game on a server unit and said server unit producing uncompressed interactive video. The method includes processing the uncompressed interactive video at a compression unit associated with the server unit. The compression unit outputting compressed interactive video, and the server unit and the compression unit being located at a data center. The method includes streaming the compressed interactive video over a packetized network from the data center to one or more client devices associated with one or more users. Each client device is located geographically remote to the data center, and the server is configured to receive input to drive gameplay of the video game by said one or more client devices. The compressed interactive video is configured for decompression and presentation at said one or more client devices. The method includes receiving, by the server, updates from said one or more clients devices regarding a quality of said uncompressed interactive video that is received from said streaming. The method includes adjusting automatically, by the compression unit, a rate of compression provided to one or more of said client devices based on said updates received regarding the quality of said uncompressed interactive video for the video game.
TRANSPARENT INTERCEPT FOR ADAPTIVE BITRATE SPLICER
Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate the intercept and manipulation of content requested by a client device. The methods, systems, and apparatuses described herein enable the interception and redirection of packets based upon a set of rules. Intercepted packets may be redirected away from an origin server and may be forwarded to a splicing device. The splicing device may establish a session with a corresponding origin server, and retrieve content that is requested by the intercepted packet. In embodiments, the splicing device may identify alternate content that is associated with the intercepted packet and/or content that is further associated with a device or subscriber associated with the packet. One or more segments of the requested content, or the entirety of the requested content may be replaced with the alternate content, and the modified content may be output to the client device requesting the content.
PACKET PROCESSING OF STREAMING CONTENT IN A COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK
Aspects of present disclosure include devices within a transmission path of streamed content forwarding received data packets of the stream to the next device or “hop” in the path prior to buffering the data packet at the device. In this method, typical buffering of the data stream may therefore occur at the destination device for presentation at a consuming device, while the devices along the transmission path may transmit a received packet before buffering. Further, devices along the path may also buffer the content stream after forwarding to fill subsequent requests for dropped data packets of the content stream. Also, in response to receiving the request for the content stream, a device may first transmit a portion of the contents of the gateway buffer to the requesting device to fill a respective buffer at the receiving device.
Video encoding based on customized bitrate table
An original input content is subjected to multiple constant quality probe encodes for a defined set of resolutions. In one embodiment, probe encodes encode a few parts of the original source video, for example, 30 seconds from 5 different positions. Each probe encode delivers an average bitrate that is required to achieve the configured constant quality. The mean value of the average bitrate is taken per resolution. This results in a list of bitrates that map to a resolution that would achieve the best quality, a custom bitrate table. Based on the custom bitrate table, an optimized bitrate ladder is computed. The process starts with a configurable minimum bitrate and steps up by a bitrate step size that is between a configurable min and max bitrate step size until the bitrate of the highest resolution is reached.
Motion-based frame rate adjustment for in-person conference participants
First and second regions of interest are be identified within an initial video stream captured by a video capture device located within a physical space, in which the first region of interest is associated with a first conference participant within the physical space and the second region of interest is associated with a second conference participant within the physical space. A first frame rate may be determined for the first region of interest based on information associated with the first conference participant, and a second frame rate may be determined for the second region of interest based on information associated with the second conference participant. A capture of a first video stream associated with the first region of interest at the first frame rate and a second video stream associated with the second region of interest at the second frame rate may then be caused.
Full reference video quality measurements of video conferencing over the congested networks
Various embodiments comprise systems, methods, and apparatus for processing a received video stream according to an embodiment comprises: identifying a number of repeated video frames within a sequence of N video frames within the video stream; determining, using a video frame quality assessment mechanism adapted to use repeated frames information, a motion adapted video quality metric (VQM) of the sequence of N video frames; and generating an alarm in response to the motion adapted VQM being less than a threshold level.
High-level syntax designs for point cloud coding
A method of point cloud coding (PCC) implemented by a video decoder. The method includes receiving an encoded bitstream including a group of frames header disposed outside a coded representation of a texture component or a geometry component and identifying a video codec used for coding the texture component or the geometry component, and decoding the encoded bitstream.
Automatic Discovery and Reporting of Streaming Content of Interest and Connection of User to Same
Embodiments are directed to computer systems and methods that stream selected media content to a client device. Selection of particular content to stream to a device of a given user is performed based on parameters specified in advance by the given user. Selection is made from received content that is parsed, indexed, and stored in real-time in such a way as to allow for real-time monitoring and searching of the content according to the user-specified parameters. The user is alerted as to the discovery of the selected content and enabled to connect to a stream presenting the selected content. The selected content is presented within the stream beginning from a playback time corresponding to a moment that triggered the discovery of the selected content, even if the moment has passed, thus providing the user with a comprehensive presentation of the selected content.
Apparatus and system for virtual camera configuration and selection
A system and method for virtual camera configuration and selection. For example, one embodiment of a system comprises: a decode subsystem comprising circuitry to concurrently decode a plurality of video streams captured by cameras at an event to generate decoded video streams from a perspective of corresponding virtual cameras (VCAMs); video evaluation logic to apply at least one video quality metric to determine a quality value for the decoded video streams or a subset thereof, and to rank the decoded video streams based, at least in part, on the quality values associated with the decoded video streams; preview logic to provide the decoded video streams or modified versions thereof to one or more computing devices accessible to one or more video production team members and to further provide the quality values and/or the rank generated by the video quality evaluation logic; stream selection hardware logic to select a subset of the plurality of decoded video streams based on input from the one or more video production team members; and transcoder hardware logic to transcode the subset of the plurality of decoded video streams for live transmission over a public or private network.
Concurrent browsing interface
Methods, systems, and computer storage media provide a concurrent browsing session. A user interface is provided for display on a first computing device of a first user to facilitate the concurrent browsing session. The user interface simultaneously displays a first browsing screen showing interaction of the first user with a site and a real-time feed of a second browsing screen presented on a second computing device of a second user showing interaction of the second user with the site. A request is received to split payment of a first item in a first digital cart. In response to the request, a first payment interface for a first portion of the payment is provided for display on the first computing device, and a second payment interface for a second portion of the payment is provided for display on the second computing device.
