Methods and systems for processing communication systems are disclosed. A request for a communication session can be analyzed to determine a device or pool of devices to process the communication session. Data associated with the communication session, including session description data, can be analyzed using rules that associate types of data with corresponding processing devices. The rules can be based on levels of complexity associated with the data, and different pools of processing devices can be associated with different levels of complexity. Thus, communication sessions assigned a level of complexity can be matched with pools of devices associated with the same level of complexity.

Techniques are disclosed for the sharing and transferring of user data in online network systems operating in multiple jurisdictions. The different jurisdictions may be, for example, different geo-partitions in an online network system. Various techniques are disclosed for providing cross-partition operational functionalities (e.g., cross-geo transactions) between geo-partitioned server systems through the sharing and transferring of data between the geo-partitions. The geo-partitions may have established permissions for data that can be shared between the geo-partitions. A server system in one geo-partition may generate an auxiliary account from a subset of data shared across the geo-partitions that complies with the data permissions. Complying with the established data permissions may inhibit overlapping between the different laws or regulations of the geo-partitions.

A method of traffic forwarding and disambiguation through the use of local proxies and addresses. The technique leverages DNS to on-ramp traffic to a local proxy. The local proxy runs on the end user's device. According to a first embodiment, DNS is used to remap what would normally be a wide range of IP addresses to localhost based on 127.0.0.0/8 listening sockets, where the system can then listen for connections and data. In a second embodiment, a localhost proxy based on a TUN/TAP interface (or other packet interception method) with a user-defined CIDR range to which the local DNS server drives traffic is used. Requests on that local proxy are annotated (by adding data to the upstream connection).

However, there are different types of blockchain techniques (e.g., Hyperledger, Ethereum, Quorum), and users/developers need to know the explicit features of each technique and align with the required APIs. Ledger as a Service can allow users to an develop applications more efficiently, and can allow users to easily migrate applications among different blockchain techniques and platforms (e.g., between Hyperledger and Ethereum). LaaS can also allow for simplified transactions with a blockchain, and can additionally provide simplified communication between blockchains of different types.

In one aspect, a method includes receiving request data specifying requested compute nodes for a computing workload. The request data specifies a target n-dimensional arrangement of the compute nodes. A selection is made, from a superpod that includes a set of building blocks that each include an m-dimensional arrangement of compute nodes, a subset of the building blocks that, when combined, match the target n-dimensional arrangement specified by the request data. The set of building blocks are connected to an optical network that includes one or more optical circuit switches. A workload cluster of compute nodes that includes the subset of the building blocks is generated. The generating includes configuring, for each dimension of the workload cluster, respective routing data for the one or more optical circuit switches.

Real-time database performance tuning

Techniques are described for enabling real-time database performance measurement and tuning in a service provider network. To efficiently test one or more proposed configuration changes to a database in a service provider network, a database service is able to create a replicated copy of the database in an environment that mirrors that of the primary database. The database service then automatically causes database traffic destined for the primary database to be routed to both the primary database and the test database. Once the test database is created and traffic is routed to both databases, the database service obtains performance data by monitoring performance of both the primary database and the test database over a period of time. Based on the obtained performance database, the database service can automatically determine which of the primary database and the test database is exhibiting better performance.
