A method for execution by a dispersed storage and task (DST) client module includes issuing a read threshold number of read slice requests are issued to storage units of the set of storage units. One or more encoded slices of a selected read threshold number of encoded slices are received. When a next encoded data slice of a decode threshold number of encoded data slices is received within a response timeframe, outputting of the next encoded data slice is initiated. When the next encoded data slice is not received within the response timeframe, receiving of another decode threshold number of encoded slices of the set of encoded slices is facilitated. The other decode threshold number of encoded slices are decoded to produce recovered encoded data slices, where the recovered encoded data slices includes at least a recovered next encoded data. Outputting of the recovered next encoded data slice is initiated.

A method of processing data in a network is disclosed. The method comprises transmitting, from a first server to a second server, first information characterising a first predefined format according to which first data is stored at a first data store; obtaining, at the second server, mapping information characterising a mapping of the first predefined format onto a second predefined format different to the first predefined format; generating, at the second server, based on the first information and the mapping information, second information for converting data in the first predefined format into data in the second predefined format; transmitting, from the second server to the first server, the second information; and parsing, at the first server, using the second information, the first data stored at the first data store, to generate data in the second predefined format. Apparatuses are also disclosed.

The vehicle diagnostic terminal receives diagnostic instruction data of a diagnostic application. The vehicle diagnostic terminal transmits the diagnostic instruction data to the vehicle connector via the preset programming interface by way of the remote communication. The vehicle connector converts the diagnostic instruction data into first data in a first data format, and performs a diagnostic operation corresponding to the first data, where the first data format is readable by a vehicle.

An attachment to an e-mail message received at an e-mail gateway is scanned by a scan server and then is converted into an HTML file. The HTML file includes preview data of the attachment (minus any macro scripts), the entire original data of the attachment, scan functionality enabling a user to send the attachment back to a scan server for a second scan, or extract functionality enabling a user to extract the original attachment data for saving or opening in an application. The recipient is able to open or save the attachment directly if he or she believes it comes from a trusted sender. If the attachment seems suspicious, the recipient previews the attachment first before performing a scan, opening the attachment or deleting it. The recipient performs a scan of the attachment by clicking a “scan” button to send the attachment to a backend server for a second scan where an updated virus pattern file may be available to detect any zero-day malware.

A video processing service of a cloud provider network enables users to purchase video encoding or decoding devices that can be used to encode and reliably transfer video content to the video processing service from locations of the users' choice. The video processing service receives a request to transfer the association of a video encoding or decoding device from one region of the cloud provider to another and the video processing service executes workflows that enable the association of a video encoding or decoding device to be transferred to one region from another.
