Method of adjusting service function chains to improve network performance

Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for monitoring and adjusting a service chain that includes several services to perform on data messages passing through a network. For a service chain implemented by a set of service paths each of which includes several service nodes that implement the services of the service chain, the method receives, from a set of service proxies, operational data relating to data transmission characteristics of a set of operational service nodes. The method analyzes the data transmission characteristics. In response to the analysis of the data transmission characteristics, the method alters the set of service paths implementing the service chain.

ACCESSING WEB-BASED FRAGMENTS FOR DISPLAY

Methods and systems are disclosed for presenting profile pages. For example, a messaging application implemented on a client device receives a request to access a page of the messaging application and identifies a first web-based application that is linked to the page of the messaging application. The messaging application obtains a first application fragment corresponding to the first web-based application and identifies a data field of the first application fragment that corresponds to information being presented on the page of the messaging application. The messaging application populates the data field of the first application fragment by sending a message from the messaging application to the first web-based application. The messaging application adds, to the page of the messaging application, a visual representation of the first application fragment comprising the populated data field.

Access controls for units of content in a messaging service

Exemplary embodiments provide techniques for promoting and providing subscribed content via a messaging platform. An article may be viewed via a social networking service (such as in a social network's news feed), or on a partner website integrated with the social networking service and/or messaging service. When opening the article (e.g., in a web-based view), a banner may be displayed in association with the article indicating that the article could have been received as part of a messaging-based subscription service. The banner may include a control to subscribe to the publisher with the messaging service. Topics related to an article may be suggested in the message thread for the subscription, with the selection of a topic retrieving additional articles from that publisher related to that topic. These additional articles may be selected using social networking topic determination.

A system for collaboratively generating and/or managing a media channel is provided. The system includes an identification component, a generation component and a permissions component. The identification component identifies a first set of media content associated with a first social group and a second set of media content associated with a second social group. The generation component generates a media channel based on the first and second sets of media content identified as being respectively associated with the first and second social groups. The permissions component grants access to the media channel based at least on permissions generated for the first and second sets of media content in connection with the respective first and second social groups.

Automatic connection load balancing between instances of a cluster

Disclosed is a method, a computer program product, and a computer system for implementing automatic connection load balancing of database connections between instances of a cluster. Load imbalances are detected globally in the cluster, and can be corrected autonomously by the local instances. The local controller/orchestrator detects the imbalance, computes a target for the instance, and makes any necessary adjustments on the instance, where a server marks the connections to redistribute, and then implements draining and/or planned failover to move sessions.

Techniques for improving data transmission in teleoperation systems

Techniques for improving data transmission in teleoperation systems including a method for dynamic packet routing. The method includes identifying an optimal channel of a plurality of channels based on a network connectivity status of a system and historical connectivity data related to a current location of the system, wherein the system includes a plurality of network authorization devices, wherein each network authorization device is configured to enable communications via an associated channel; and routing packets to the optimal channel using a network authorization device of the plurality of network authorization devices that is associated with the optimal channel.
