Method and apparatus for real-time personalization

A computer-implemented, network-connected content recommender generating content recommendations for a plurality of content servers hosted by one or more customers, the content recommender comprising: one or more processors; a memory storing instruction that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the recommender to perform operations comprising: receiving a plurality of content recommendation requests from a querying one of said customer content servers via a plurality of input streams, each input stream including a data repository; outputting data, from the memory, associated with the content recommendation requests; receiving some or all of the data associated with said content recommendation requests; generating a first model-specific recommendation result from a first set of the plurality of received data; generating a second model-specific recommendation result from a second set of the plurality of received data; combining the first model-specific recommendation results with the second model-specific results to generate an ensemble recommendation result; and transmitting the ensemble result from the content recommender to said querying customer content server.

Context aggregation for data communications between client-specific servers and data-center communications providers

Certain aspects of the disclosure are directed to context aggregation in a data communications network. According to a specific example, user-data communications between a client-specific endpoint device and the other participating endpoint device during a first time period can be retrieved from a plurality of interconnected data communications systems. The client entity can be configured and arranged to interface with a data communications server providing data communications services on a subscription basis. A context can be determined for each respective user-data communication between the endpoint devices during the first time period. A plurality of user-data communications between the client-specific endpoint device and the other participating endpoint device can be aggregated during a second time period, and a context can be determined for the aggregated user-data communications during the second time period based on a comparison of the aggregated user-data communications and the user-data communications during the first time period.

Programmable delivery network

A system and method are provided for provisioning code snippets for programming a content delivery network. The method includes receiving a first client code snippet from a first client. The first client code snippet includes identity information of origin servers, standard responses for network requests, and configuration parameters to configure programmable content delivery nodes to respond to the one or more network requests. The method also includes publishing the first client code snippet to a snippet library, and indexing the first client code snippet in the snippet library. The method also includes receiving, from a second client, a request for a second client code snippet. The method also includes selecting a subset of client code snippets stored in the snippet library. The method also includes rendering identification information for the subset of client code snippets, and outputting a selected client code snippet from the subset of client code snippets.

SCRIPTING WEB SERVICES
20180007167 · 2018-01-04 ·

A process performed on a server includes configuring the server to enable script for a Web service to be defined dynamically, where the Web service includes an application program interface (API) for enabling access by, and interaction with, a computer program executing on a device other than the server. The process also includes compiling the script to produce machine-executable code for the Web service, receiving a call from the computer program to the Web service, executing the machine-executable code in response to the call to produce an output, and sending the output to the device.

RESILIENT PEER-TO-PEER APPLICATION MESSAGE ROUTING
20180006941 · 2018-01-04 ·

A network routing table includes destination addresses of destination applications hosted on peer nodes of a network. A primary processor registers a first destination application and a second destination application, where the first destination application is the same as the second destination application and both the first destination application and the second destination application have the same destination address. That processor also provides the peer nodes and a secondary processor with a copy of the table. When the first destination application is inactivated, all peer nodes and the secondary processor are provided with a copy of an updated routing table indicating inactivation of the first destination application and routing of the application message to the second destination application. A further application message addressed from any of the peer nodes to the destination address associated with the inactivated first destination application will be routed, via the updated routing table, to the second destination application having the same destination address as the inactivated first destination application. The secondary processor provides the copy of the routing table and the copy of the updated routing table in case of failure of the primary processor in response to a request from the querying peer node.

Context Switch of Database Connections
20180007170 · 2018-01-04 ·

A solution is proposed for accessing a database by an application client. A corresponding method comprises receiving a connection command for opening a user connection between a user client of the application client and the database from the application client, the connection command comprising an indication of a context of the user client, assigning an application connection between the application client and the database to the user client in response to the connection command, and switching a context of the application connection to the context of the user client.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ROUTING SERVICE REQUESTS
20180013693 · 2018-01-11 ·

A computer-implemented method routes service requests to services in a service framework provided by a plurality of hosts. The method comprises receiving a service request for a service in the service framework and discovering a plurality of candidate hosts that host the service. The plurality of candidate hosts are a subset of the plurality of hosts. The method further comprises selecting a candidate host from the plurality of candidate hosts based on measured latencies for the plurality of candidate hosts and routing the service request to the selected candidate host.

CLOUD FEDERATION AS A SERVICE
20180013819 · 2018-01-11 ·

A Cloud federator may be used to allow seamless and transparent access by a Cloud Client to Cloud services. Federation may be provided on various terms, including as a subscription based real-time online service to Cloud Clients. The Cloud federator may automatically and transparently effect communication between the Cloud Client and Clouds and desired services of the Clouds, and automatically perform identity federation. A Service Abstraction Layer (SAL) may be implemented to simplify Client communication, and Clouds/Cloud services may elect to support the SAL to facilitate federation of their services.

Extensible and elastic data management services engine external to a storage domain

A data management services architecture includes architectural components that run in both a storage and compute domains. The architectural components redirect storage requests from the storage domain to the compute domain, manage resources allocated from the compute domain, ensure compliance with a policy that governs resource consumption, deploy program code for data management services, dispatch service requests to deployed services, and monitor deployed services. The architectural components also include a service map to locate program code for data management services, and service instance information for monitoring deployed services and dispatching requests to deployed services. Since deployed services can be stateless or stateful, the services architecture also includes state data for the stateful services, with supporting resources that can expand or contract based on policy and/or service demand. The architectural components also include containers for the deployed services.
