SYSTEMS, METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING MULTIPLE NETWORK ADDRESSING MODES

Systems, methods and apparatus for multiple network addressing modes are disclosed. The method includes selecting one of an automap full mode, an automap-by-type full mode, an automap light mode, an automap-by-type light mode and a manual node commissioning mode for determining and assigning the node addresses for the network devices, determining and assigning the node addresses for the network devices based on the automap full mode, determining and assigning the node addresses for the network devices based on the automap-by-type full mode, determining and assigning the node addresses for newly added network devices to an existing network based on the automap light mode, determining and assigning the node addresses for the newly added network devices to the existing network based on the automap-by-type light mode, and determining and assigning the node addresses for the network devices based on the manual node commissioning mode.

CONNECTOR FOR CONNECTING A DEVICE AND A COMMUNICATION LINE AND CONNECTOR SYSTEM

A connector for connecting a device and a communication line is disclosed. The connector includes a first interface unit and an address storage unit. The first interface unit includes a plurality of connection ends. An address information is stored in the address storage unit. A first group of the connection ends is connected to the communication line. A second group of the connection ends is connected to the address storage unit. A third group is connected to the device. The address of the device can be determined by the address information. A connector system for connecting devices and communication lines and to a motor control center is also disclosed.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR INITIALIZING A REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
20250247315 · 2025-07-31 ·

The present disclosure relates to a method that includes performing, by a controller of a refrigeration system, an initialization procedure including executing an initialization process. The initialization process includes: providing a prompt signal on a dedicated channel; monitoring a CAN bus for a response signal from at least one remote device; and assigning a network address to the at least one remote device if a response signal from the remote device is detected on the CAN bus.

METHOD FOR CAN ID DISTRIBUTION
20250240269 · 2025-07-24 ·

Example implementations include methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable medium of network identification (ID) distribution by devices in a network, which may be host devices or other devices. An example method includes sending a host ID on a communication bus, such as a controller area network (CAN) bus, receiving a first device ID from a first node in a plurality of nodes on the CAN bus, distributing a first unique network ID value to the first node in the plurality of nodes on the CAN bus, confirming that the first node in the plurality of nodes has received the first unique network ID value, and repeating the method until each node in the plurality of nodes has been assigned the respective unique network ID value.

DYNAMIC CAN ADDRESSING
20260058930 · 2026-02-26 ·

A method of assigning addresses to devices on a network is presented. The method includes causing a master control unit to assert a first address signal on a first address line; causing a first device to transmit a first response to the master control unit via at least one data bus responsive to asserting the first address signal on the first address line; causing the master control unit to transmit a first network address via the at least one data bus to the first device responsive to receiving the first response; causing the master control unit and first device to complete a first communication test responsive to transmitting the first network address; and causing the master control unit to cease asserting the first address signal responsive to completing the first communication test.

Vehicle network address assignment

A first computer is connected to a communication network and is assigned a first network address on the communication network. A second computer is connected to the communication network and is assigned the first network address on the communication network. A first message, including the first network address and a request to generate a random number, is transmitted by the first computer via the communication network. A first reply message, including the random number, is received from the second computer in response to the request. A second network address is assigned for the second computer by the first computer based on the random number. A second message, including the second network address and the random number, is transmitted by the first computer via the communication network.
