Method and System for Implementing Telephone Solicitation Prevention
Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing telephone solicitation prevention using enhanced voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) functionalities in conjunction with STIR/SHAKEN protocols. In various embodiments, in response to receiving a call setup message or a call request from a calling party, a call server might send a verification request to a secure telephone identity (STI) verification server (VS). The STI-VS might verify and send the call setup message to a no solicitation application server, which might instruct a media server to connect to a first gateway device and to play a no solicitation message requesting a response from the calling party, and which might verify whether the response is an appropriate response. If so, a call is established. If not, the call might be disconnected and/or forwarded to a voicemail server to play a voicemail message to the calling party in accordance with preferences of the called party.
Method to provide ad hoc and password protected digital and voice networks
A method and system includes the ability for individuals to set up an ad hoc digital and voice network easily and rapidly to allow users to coordinate their activities by eliminating the need for pre-entry of data into a web or identifying others by name, phone numbers or email. This method is especially useful for police, fire fighters, military, first responders or other emergency situations for coordinating different organizations at the scene of a disaster to elevate conventional communication problems either up and down the chain of command or cross communication between different emergency units. The method and system provides that the users are only required to enter a specific Server IP address and an ad hoc event name, a password and perhaps the name of the particular unit.
METHOD AND SYSTEM IN PAIRING A UNIQUE ALPHANUMERIC NAME/S TO ANY CALLABLE NUMBER OR SIP ACCOUNT TO GENERATE UNIQUE AND EASY TO REMEMBER URL CALLING LINK FOR REAL TIME COMMUNICATION PURPOSES
A system and method of enabling callers to generate and use unique alphanumeric name or names appended to a domain name or use as domain name itself, when paired to the destination device, to enable a calling device to communicate with a destination device over the internet without dialing the destination device common mobile number.
Mechanism to Activate and Manage a Standalone Device for Cellular Service
Some embodiments relate to methods and systems for initiating and transferring cellular subscription service using associated cellular communication devices. Cellular service may be initiated for a first cellular communication device via a second cellular communication device. The first cellular communication device may be provisioned to operate in an independent mode. In other scenarios, cellular service may be transferred from the first cellular communication device operating in independent mode to a third cellular communication device, which may be provisioned to operate in independent mode.
System and method to alter a telematics unit phone number
A system to alter a phone number assigned to a telematics unit in which a server of a data center retrieves a phone call log that includes the call transmissions of a telematics unit made over a time period. Moreover, upon retrieval, the server will extract certain criteria from the phone call log, compile the extracted criteria, and then determine whether or not to alter the phone number based on the compiled criteria. When it is determined to do so, the server may alter the phone number by changing the phone number's area code or exchanging the phone number assigned to the telematics unit with another phone number.
Processing messages with a device server operating in a telephone
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a computer-readable storage medium in a telephone having computer instructions to execute a web server application in the telephone. The web server application can be operable to detect an incoming plain old telephone service call, identify a calling party identifier from the incoming plain old telephone service call, and direct one of a plurality of devices detected by web server application to present the calling party identifier. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Grafting and separation of mobile telephone number lines
A computer device may include a processor configured to execute instructions, stored in a memory, to receive a request to add a second mobile telephone number (MTN) line to a user equipment (UE) device associated with a first MTN line, generate a graft instruction to graft the second MTN line to the first MTN line, and send the generated graft instruction to a provisioning system configured to provision services for the UE device. The processor may be further configured to designate the second MTN line as having a grafted status with respect to the first MTN line, the grafted status indicating that the second MTN line has been added to a subscriber profile of the first MTN line, and that the UE device is configured to send and receive communications using the first MTN line and/or the second MTN line.
Method and apparatus of providing messaging service and callback feature to mobile stations
An apparatus and method of performing automated administrative operations on a mobile device. One example method may include determining via a hosted server that an action needs to be performed by a mobile device under management. The method may further include generating a message via the hosted server, the message includes the action, and transmitting the message to the mobile device under management, and receiving a result message from the mobile device under management responsive to the transmitted message, the result indicating that the action has been satisfied.
Multiple device and multiple line connected home and home monitoring
Systems, devices, and techniques for multiple device and multiple line enabled computing devices and computing appliances are described herein. A device number can be assigned to a computing device and can be unique to the computing device. A plurality of alias numbers can be provided to the computing device and enabled for use by the computing device. Alias numbers can be enabled on multiple computing appliances, such that a user can transfer voice or video calls between devices using the alias numbers. Further, monitoring components in a home environment, for example, can be associated with one or more alias number so that security alerts can be provided to the various computing devices and computing appliances associated with the alias numbers.
Method and apparatus of providing messaging service and callback feature to mobile stations
Disclosed are an apparatus and method of performing automated administrative operations on a mobile device. The mobile device user may be unaware of any updates or other administrative operations being performed. One example method may include detecting that an event has occurred, interrupting a previously executed program, initiating a new program different from the previously executed program to perform a new function and notifying an application of the program interruption. The message may be a SMS type message.
