A method for safely and efficiently requesting transportation services through the use of mobile communications devices capable of geographic location is described. Individual and package transportation may be provided. New customers may be efficiently serviced, and the requester and transportation provider locations may be viewed in real time on the mobile devices.

PRIORITIZING COMMUNICATION WITH NON NETWORK-ENABLED INTERNET OF THINGS DEVICES
20190386954 · 2019-12-19 ·

An integrated GW (I-GW) can be utilized to facilitate communications with Internet of things (IoT) devices that operate without Internet protocol (IP) addresses, based on assigned preferences and/or priority. In one aspect, the I-GW can efficiently deliver existing services for various types of IoT devices (e.g., that support different non-IP protocols) and can create emerging applications across different vertical applications. Further, the I-GW can leverage mobility network elements to authenticate, prioritize connections, and/or enable data orchestration via underlying software defined network (SDN)-enabled capabilities and/or infrastructure services. By utilizing IoT devices that do not have IP stacks, a cost and/or size of the IoT devices can be decreased and battery life can be significantly extended.

SESSION CONTROL LOGIC WITH INTERNET PROTOCOL (IP)-BASED ROUTING

Disclosed is an architecture that distributes session control logic across multiple points of a telecommunications network. Also disclosed are techniques and systems using Internet Protocol (IP)-based routing to establish communication sessions. A user equipment (UE) may receive user input to initiate a communication session, derive a destination IP address, generate a session request having at least the destination IP address, and send the session request a server. The server may receive the session request from the UE, replace the destination IP address in the session request with an IP address of an endpoint device to generate a modified session request, and route the modified session request to the endpoint device based at least in part on the IP address of the endpoint device.

METHOD TO PROVIDE AD HOC AND PASSWORD PROTECTED DIGITAL AND VOICE NETWORKS
20240107286 · 2024-03-28 ·

A method and system includes the ability for individuals to set up an ad hoc digital and voice network easily and rapidly to allow users to coordinate their activities by eliminating the need for pre-entry of data into a web or identifying others by name, phone numbers or email. This method is especially useful for police, fire fighters, military, first responders or other emergency situations for coordinating different organizations at the scene of a disaster to elevate conventional communication problems either up and down the chain of command or cross communication between different emergency units. The method and system provides that the users are only required to enter a specific Server IP address and an ad hoc event name, a password and perhaps the name of the particular unit.

Internet protocol multimedia subsystem emergency calls for roaming user equipments

A method of operating a user equipment (UE) to handle an internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) emergency call can include sending a session initiation protocol (SIP) REGISTER request relating to an emergency registration to a proxy call session control function (P-CSCF) of an IMS network. The method can further include, responsive to sending the SIP REGISTER request, receiving a response from the P-CSCF. The method can further include, responsive to receiving the response, performing an action based on the response.

Method and system for initiating a mobile voice call

Provided is a method for initiating a mobile voice call from a caller UE to a callee UE having a SIM card associated with a callee phone number, which callee phone number is a E.164 compliant MSISDN. The method includes providing a software function at the callee UE, which software function is associated with a receiving address comprising the callee phone number, and configuring a call forwarding function in a first network, being activated for the callee phone number and configured for forwarding CS voice calls to a forwarding phone number associated with a VOIP service. The method also includes the caller UE calling the callee phone number, the first network performing the call forwarding to the VOIP service, the VOIP service identifying the callee UE, and the VOIP service initiating the call between the caller UE and the software function using the receiving address.

Number management system, number management method, number management device and number management program

A number management unit (11) of a number management system (1) generates a transaction to be managed in a blockchain based on number portability information obtained by receiving a number update request, generates a block obtained by aggregating multiple transactions, approves a suggested block by confirming normality of the block, and stores the block by connecting the block to a blockchain in a number database (13). If a reset of the block in the number database (13) is suggested, the number management unit (11) transmits, to multiple number management apparatuses (10), a reset suggestion block including, as a transaction, a reset suggestion, which is information indicating a suggestion for a reset, and if the reset suggestion block is approved, the number management unit (11) discards the blockchain in the number database (13).

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR UTILIZING MOBILE SUBSCRIBER IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION WITH MULTIPLE DEVICES BASED ON REGISTRATION REQUESTS

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a system that manages utilization of mobile subscriber identity information including enabling use of such information by different communication devices. The use of the same mobile subscriber identity information by multiple devices can be based on locations and other mobile subscriber identity information can be assigned to devices based on the locations. Other embodiments are disclosed.

TELEPHONE NUMBER SELECTION
20190379787 · 2019-12-12 ·

An example method of assigning a telephone number to a user account in a communications system is provided. The method includes obtaining a mnemonic seed and obtaining a subset of telephone numbers filtered from a global telephone number pool based on the mnemonic seed. The alphanumeric representation of each telephone number in the subset is within a threshold Hamming distance of the mnemonic seed. The method further includes receiving an indication of a selected telephone number from the subset and assigning the selected telephone number to the user account.

Messaging system having multiple number, dual mode phone support

A social messaging hub provides communication services for a data enabled device having Internet network access capabilities. The social messaging hub communicates with the data enabled device over the Internet or cellular data networks, and interfaces with a message infrastructure including mobile carriers, message aggregators, message exchanges and various specialized social messaging services to enable bi-directional messaging communication. The user is given a registered phone number and unique IP addressable identification which serve as a source and destination identifier of the associated data enabled device. Messages may originate in or be delivered to other users' mobile telephones or in similarly equipped and provisioned IP data enabled devices. An application operating on the IP enabled device determines in conjunction with the social messaging hub a mode of transmission as a function of parameters including device location and destination of a message.
