Identification services for internet-enabled devices
An identification service may provide a device identifier that is available in both browser and non-browser applications on an electronic device. The identification service may include a domain name system server that handles domain name system queries for certain HTTP requests originating from the browser and non-browser applications. An HTTP request in the non-browser application may result in the domain name system server embedding the device identifier into an IPv6 address that is then stored in a local domain name system cache on the device. An HTTP request in the browser application may cause the browser to connect to the IPv6 address stored in the local domain name system cache. The identification service may have an HTTP server bound to the IPv6 address. The HTTP server may extract the device identifier from the IPv6 address and may provide the device identifier to the browser application.
PRINTING APPARATUS, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PRINTING APPARATUS, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
In a case where both an IPv4 address and an IPv6 address are available in a printing apparatus, a Bluetooth low energy advertising packet including the available IPv4 address but not the available IPv6 address is generated and periodically transmitted.
System, Computer Program, Computer-Readable Medium and Method for Providing a Redundant Relay, Particularly a Routing Function
A system, computer program, computer-readable medium and method for providing a redundant relay, particularly routing function in a network, wherein a superordinate subnetwork is connected to a subordinate subnetwork via redundant relays, particularly routers, a maximum of one of the redundant relays is operated in an active mode at any one time, while the remaining relay(s) are in standby mode, each redundant relay forms a relay redundancy module for controlling the relay mode and a DHCPv6 client for processing a prefix delegation, particularly in accordance with RFC 3633, and the redundant relays each include a relay control module, to which the relay redundancy module of the particular relay signals the current relay mode, and the relay control module of the active relay synchronizes a virtual DUID of its DHCPv6 client and/or a prefix delegated to the active relay to the (or each) relay in standby mode.
CROSS PROTOCOL ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNET ADDRESSES FOR METADATA ASSOCIATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Described embodiments provide systems and methods for cross protocol association using internet addresses for metadata association. An association between IPv4 addresses and IPv6 addresses can determined and used to bridge metadata from collection context in a first protocol into usage for a second protocol. A server can monitor a plurality of handshake exchanges to generate the association between IPv4 addresses and IPv6 addresses for a device or group of devices. The handshake exchange can include an IPv4 address, an IPv6 address, or both an IPv4 address and an IPv6 address for a respective device. The handshake exchanges can include a unique identifier corresponding to the respective device. The server can use the association to generate a mapping linking a range of IPv4 addresses to a range of IPv6 addresses corresponding to the same device. The mapping can be used to associate metadata to devices within the same ranges.
System and Method for Storage Array Enclosure Discovery
A method, computer program product, and computing system for generating one or more unique network addresses for one or more storage array enclosures of a storage system. The one or more unique network addresses may be advertised to one or more storage processors of the storage system. The one or more storage processors may be configured to communicate with a plurality of storage devices of the one or more storage array enclosures based upon, at least in part, the one or more unique network addresses of the one or more storage array enclosures.
IPv6 NETWORK NODE MANAGING METHOD AND EQUIPMENT
Disclosed is an IPv6 network node managing method, comprising: a packet collecting step, a packet analyzing step, and an IPv6 address assigning step, for assigning a network node management IPv6 address with a visually recognizable suffix address code to a target network node which requests an IPv6 address assignment of DHCPv6, thereby improving IPv6 address recognition of the target network node and facilitating management of the network nodes.
MULTIPLE-HOP PEER-TO-PEER NETWORK
Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for a common preamble for wireless local-area networks (WLANs). An apparatus of a first wireless device including processing circuitry configured to decode a first data frame from a second wireless device, the data frame indicating a destination address of a third wireless device and in response to the third wireless device being an immediate neighbor of the first wireless device, encode a second data frame comprising the data from the first data frame and an address of the third wireless device as the receiver address of the data frame. The processing circuitry further configured to in response to the third wireless device not being an immediate neighbor of the first wireless device, encode the second data frame to comprise the data from the first data frame, an address of a fourth wireless device, and the address of the third wireless device.
Information processing apparatus, method of controlling the same, and program
An information processing apparatus characterized by comprising: at least one wireless communication means capable of executing a plurality of communication modes that include a first communication mode in which the wireless communication means communicates information concerning a predetermined service to be provided to an external apparatus with the external apparatus; basic configuration means for deciding whether to assign an IP address used for a second communication mode different from the first communication mode to the wireless communication means; and communication mode setting means for setting the IP address for the wireless communication means regardless of a decision by the basic configuration means if the first communication mode is enabled.
Generating mobile device-specific identifiers across native mobile applications and mobile browsers
Described herein are methods and systems for generating a mobile device-specific identifier usable across native mobile applications and mobile browsers with a unified opt-out mechanism. A mobile device generates a transient identifier for the mobile device and maps the transient identifier to a stable identifier of the mobile device using at least one call to a service endpoint coupled to the mobile device via a communications network. A browser application on the mobile device renders a webpage, the webpage comprising first instructions, executed by the browser application, to retrieve the stable identifier of the mobile device using at least one call to the service endpoint coupled to the mobile device via a communications network.
SRv6 with micro segment identifiers
In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a packet comprising a destination address in a destination address field of the packet, where the destination address including at least a first global identifier and a second global identifier, determining that the first global identifier corresponds to the first network apparatus, determining that a local identifier in the destination address is associated with the first global identifier, identifying one or more instructions associated with the local identifier, performing one or more functions instructed by the one or more instructions, updating the destination address in the destination field of the packet to an updated destination address, determining a forwarding rule associated with the packet, and forwarding the packet with the updated destination address based on the forwarding rule.
