Network addresses with encoded DNS-level information
Systems and methods are described to enable a DNS service to encode information into a network address to be advertised by the DNS service. Information encoded by a DNS service may include, for example, an identifier of a content set to which the network address corresponds (e.g., a domain name) and validity information, such as a digital signature, that verifies the validity of the network address. On receiving a request to communicate with the network address, a destination device associated with the network address may decode the encoded information within the network address to assist in processing the request. In some instances, the encoded information may be used to identify malicious network transmissions, such as transmissions forming part of a network attack, potentially without reliance on other data, such as separate mappings or contents of the data transmission.
Communication device, control method for communication device, and storage medium, for setting a distribution criterion
In Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) over Low power Wireless Personal Area Networks (6LoWPAN), a distribution criterion for a prefix using a 6LoWPAN Context Option (6CO) can be set. The distribution criterion for the prefix using 6CO is set, and one of the prefix using the 6CO and a prefix using a Prefix Information Option (PIO) is distributed to another communication device based on the set distribution criterion.
IPV6 stateless address auto-configuration
The present disclosure provides an IPv6 stateless address auto-configuration method, a network device and a host. The method includes: sending a router advertisement RA message to a host, wherein the RA message includes a prefix information option, and the prefix information option includes a prefix and a flag. The host performs IPv6 stateless address auto-configuration according to the prefix and the flag.
IP ADDRESS ALLOCATION METHOD AND APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM
This disclosure describes an IP address allocation method and apparatus, and a system. Specifically, when there is a relay device between an address request device and an address allocation device, and the address request device requests an IPv6 address, a request packet sent by the address request device to the address allocation device includes an interface identifier negotiated with the relay device. After receiving the request packet, the address allocation device may allocate the IPv6 address based on the interface identifier in the request packet, where the IPv6 address includes the interface identifier; and send the IPv6 address to the address request device by using a response packet.
SUPPORTING DYNAMIC HOST CONFIGURATION PROTOCOL-BASED CUSTOMER PREMISES EQUIPMENT IN FIFTH GENERATION WIRELINE AND WIRELESS CONVERGENCE
A device may receive, from a first network device, an authentication request that requests authentication of the device, and may provide, to the first network device, an authentication response that includes the authentication of the device. The device may provide, to the first network device and based on the authentication response, a PDU session establishment request that requests establishment of a PDU session for customer premises equipment, and may receive, from the first network device and based on the PDU session establishment request, a PDU session resource setup request that requests a resource to be established for the PDU session. The device may provide, to the first network device and based on the PDU session resource setup request, a PDU session resource setup response indicating that the resource is a GTP tunnel, and may establish the GTP tunnel with a second network device.
Methods for compression and decompression of headers of internet protocol packets, devices, computer programs and computer program products
Embodiments include methods for decompression of headers of received Internet Protocol (IP) packets, such as by a device. Such methods include receiving a single transmission unit that includes a bitmap comprising a plurality of bits, and an aggregation of a first IP packet and a reference IP packet. Each bit in the bitmap indicates whether a corresponding header information element, of a header of the first IP packet, is redundant or non-redundant with respect to a corresponding header information element of a header of the reference IP packet. Such methods include reconstructing the header of the first IP packet based on the header of the reference IP packet and on the bitmap, and decompressing the header of the first IP packet. Other embodiments include devices configured to perform operations corresponding to such methods, and computer-readable media comprising computer-executable instructions that embody such methods.
METHODS FOR SPECIFYING THE TYPE OF MAC ADDRESS WITH DYNAMIC ASSIGNMENT MECHANISMS
A method performed by a WTRU may comprise receiving context information from infrastructure equipment and selecting a SLAP quadrant for MAC address allocation. The selecting may be based on the context information received from the infrastructure equipment, which may be a bootstrapping server for the WTRU. The method may further comprise transmitting, to a DHCP server, a DHCP message indicating the selected SLAP quadrant. In response to the transmitted DHCP message, a MAC address may be received and configured to the WTRU. Context information includes, but is not limited to, a number of nodes in a network, a type of network deployment, a type of network, a mobility configuration, a type of device management, a battery lifetime, a location or privacy configuration.
Personal monitoring system using a remote timer
Method and apparatus for monitoring the status and location of personnel using a remote timer. In some embodiments, a method includes execution of a subject application (app) on a network accessible device. A countdown timer of a remote server is initiated to monitor a time interval, the remote server communicating with the network accessible device over a network. Geo positions of the network accessible device are monitored during the monitored time interval. The remote server sends a notification to a monitoring device responsive to at least one of the following events: the monitored time interval ends without the remote server receiving an authorized personal identification (PID) value; or the remote server receives an unauthorized PID value prior to the conclusion of the monitored time interval. In further embodiments, a notification is sent based on an out-of-bounds geo position of the network accessible device during the time interval.
SID Allocation
A segment identifier (SID) manager interfaces with clients by way of a library. Clients implementing network services and needing SIDs according to internet SRv6, are allocated blocks by the SID manager using the library. Clients assign SIDs from the block independent of the SID manager using the library. Where a threshold portion of the block is assigned, the library requests an additional block of SIDs from the SID manager. Clients transmit context mappings of assigned SIDs to the SID manager for use by administrators and to enable recovery in the event of failure.
Registration of data packet traffic for a wireless device
There is provided mechanisms for handling registration of data packet traffic for a wireless device in a communications network. A method is performed by a core network node. The method comprises registering an amount of data packet traffic in the communications network for the wireless device, wherein each data packet comprises an address of the wireless device, wherein the address is mapped to an identity of the wireless device, wherein the address comprises a first part defining an identity of a local network gateway of the wireless device and a second part defining the identity of the wireless device, and wherein selection of the second part is independent from the first part and the identity of the local network gateway. The method comprises mapping the amount of data packet traffic to the identity of the wireless device. The method comprises reporting the amount of data packet traffic and information identifying at least an identity of a group of wireless devices to which the wireless device belongs to a metering entity in the communications network.
