Architectures and topologies for vehicle-based, voice-controlled devices

This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for implementing voice-enabled devices in vehicle environments to facilitate voice interaction with vehicle computing devices. Due to the differing communication capabilities of existing vehicle computing devices, the techniques described herein describe different communication topologies for facilitating voice interaction with the vehicle computing devices. In some examples, the voice-enabled device may be communicatively coupled to a user device, which may communicate with a remote speech-processing system to determine and perform operations responsive to the voice commands, such as conducting phone calls using loudspeakers of the vehicle computing device, streaming music to the vehicle computing device, and so forth. In this way, the communication topologies between the voice-enabled computing device, the vehicle computing device, and the user device provide for voice control of vehicle computing devices which may otherwise be unable to be controlled by voice commands.

At least one parameter is determined for an audio processor based on at least one input characteristic for the audio input. The audio input is routed to the audio processor with the at least one parameter.

Voice communication targeting user interface

User interfaces may enable users to initiate voice-communications with voice-controlled devices via a Wi-Fi network or other network via an Internet Protocol (IP) address. The user interfaces may include controls to enable users to initiate voice communications, such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls, with devices that do not have connectivity with traditional mobile telephone networks, such as traditional circuit transmissions of a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). For example, the user interface may enable initiating a voice communication with a voice-controlled device that includes network connectivity via a home Wi-Fi network. The user interfaces may indicate availability of devices and/or contacts for voice communications and/or recent activity of devices or contact.

An apparatus having both a Bluetooth-compatible transceiver and a cellular-telephony transceiver has a control circuit operably coupled to the foregoing configured to facilitate at least one on-board application using voice-based user input. The control circuit, upon determining that a call-setup message as received via the Bluetooth-compatible transceiver specifies a particular predetermined number (such as a predetermined number that comprises an invalid number to serve as a telephone number) to call, automatically uses audio content received via the Bluetooth-compatible transceiver as the aforementioned voice-based user input for that on-board application. By one approach, the apparatus can provide that predetermined number to a given secondary platform as part of a conveyed contacts list.

Filtering sensitive information

Technology is described for removing sensitive information. An audio block that represents a portion of a conversation may be identified. A text representation for the audio block may be obtained using a speech-to-text process. The text representation for the audio block may be compared to pattern rules to mark sensitive information in the audio block. A portion of audio data from the audio block marked as sensitive information may be removed in the audio block.

System and method for enabling voice recognition for operating system

A system and method is provided that enables voice recognition for legacy operating systems of a computing device. An exemplary method includes receiving speech-based instructions from a user of mobile device that indicate a request for executing a task. The speech-based instructions are then analyzed by an intelligent personal assistant running on the mobile device to determine an intent of the user. If the intent of the user identifies a specialized client software module installed on the mobile, the software module will generate a command object that includes parameters relating to the execution of the task. The command object is then transmitted by the first computing device to a personal computer with a legacy operating system where the command object causes a software agent installed on the personal computer to execute the task based on the parameters included in the command object.

A system, method, and computer readable medium that facilitate user authentication via voice biometrics in a network system featuring interactive voice response system access is provided. The voice biometric authentication mechanisms alleviate identity theft occurring via specific interactive voice response transactions. A voice biometrics authentication system interfaces with an interactive network platform and may be hosted by a third party provider of voice biometric technologies.

An electronic device configures a device-agnostic voice assistant library for execution on the electronic device based on the electronic device having a first device type. The electronic device also selects an implementation for the voice assistant library. After the configuring, the electronic device receives a verbal input from a user. It extracts request information from the verbal input by processing the verbal input using the voice assistant library executing on the device. It transmits a request to a remote system, the request including the extracted request information. The electronic device receives a response to the request. The response is generated by the remote system in accordance with the extracted request information. The electronic device performs an operation in accordance with the response by one or more voice processing modules of the configured voice assistant library.
