Systems and methods for sender profile and/or recipient profile disambiguation and/or confirmation are disclosed. In instances where a sender profile is not indicated by a user sending a communication from a communal device, heuristic data may be utilized to infer the sender profile. Similar heuristic data may also be used when selection of the sender profile is associated with a low confidence level. Heuristic data may also be used to infer the recipient profile when the user does not indicate the recipient profile or when selection of the recipient profile is associated with a low confidence. Various confirmations may result from the sender and recipient profile disambiguation.

A group database can maintain information about member user equipments (UEs) that are part of a group associated with a shared group number. One or more of the member UEs can be associated with distinct phone numbers that are different from the shared group number. One or more communication servers can route incoming calls and text messages sent to the shared group number to one or more member UEs based on the information in the group database, such as routing incoming calls only to member UEs indicated as being active members of the group in the group database.

A mobile device configured to share a phone number of another mobile device on a mobile communication system, the mobile device including: a controller configured to, after determining that a phone function of the another mobile device is deactivated, activate a phone function of the mobile device to which the phone number of the another mobile device is assigned; and a communicator configured to perform a mobile communication function using the phone number when the phone function of the mobile device is activated.

Example methods include receiving a first event from a first application on a first device, determining a first application identifier of the first application, and determining that the first device is in a communal mode. Example methods may include determining a communal mode profile for the first device, where the communal mode profile is associated with a first user account identifier that is associated with the first device, determining a set of user account identifiers associated with an accessory device identifier of the accessory device, and associating the set of user account identifiers and the accessory device identifier with the communal mode profile. Example methods may include receiving an indication of a second event, and disassociating the set of user account identifiers from the communal mode profile.

Processing signalling relating to a telephony session in a first telephony network. The session involves a telephony device associated with a second telephony network. A first message received from a first node in the first network comprises a first telephony identifier, associated with the first network, as a called party identifier. A second, different telephony identifier, associated with the first network, is identified. A second message transmitted to the first node comprises the second identifier as a telephony party identifier, whereby to enable call services to be provided in the first network on the basis of the second identifier. A third message, comprising the second identifier as a telephony party identifier, is received from the first node. A third telephony identifier, associated with the second network, is identified using the second identifier. A fourth message, comprising the third identifier as a telephony party identifier, is transmitted to the first node.

A shared device voicemail box can be accessed from a device that is an unauthenticated device without a user-specific security credential. The device obtains an image via a camera of the device and transmits a request to a server. The request includes a unique code based on the image. The device accesses the voicemail box based on an access grant received from the server. Using the obtained image, a non-registered user of a telephony system can access a secured voicemail box.

Thereby, it is possible to make a call even during incoming call ringing.
