Emergency call setup in wireless networks

The systems, devices, and techniques described herein are directed to scheduling wireless communications and verifying connections, for example, in an emergency call context. An emergency call scheduler can be installed in an application layer of user equipment to manage call scheduling. During an emergency situation, the emergency call scheduler can attempt to establish a communication based on a priority of network technologies (e.g., LTE, 4G, 3G, 2G) or a base station being in a subscriber network. As a call is established, a connection may be verified based at least in part on satisfying one or more handshake protocols and based at least in part on transmitting or receiving voice and/or data packets. Based on a location of the user equipment, or as a network topology is updated, a centralized server can update the emergency call scheduler to change the call scheduling priority.

USER CALL QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
20200022002 · 2020-01-16 ·

The disclosed system provides a facility for improving user call quality at a mobile device. The system includes an over-the-top (OTT) client that may be installed on the mobile device for allowing a user to initiate call quality tests. The system performs a call quality test to generate a call quality score or metric from the obtained audio sample via a Call Quality Algorithm. If the call quality score or metric falls below a predetermined threshold, the system may suggest (via the OTT client or via a push notification) that the user of the mobile device switch from the first communication interface (e.g., a radio network such as 4G) to a second communication interface (e.g., Wi-Fi) on the mobile device. The disclosed system tracks the call quality score or metric of multiple mobile devices operating within a telecommunications network, identifies service outages within the network, and notifies impacted mobile devices.

A first telephony identifier and a second telephony identifier are used for communication with a first, multi-identity user. Each of the first and second telephony identifiers are configured for use as different destination addresses in different SMS messages sent to the first user. At least one SMS message is processed in SMS processing equipment in the network, and the SMS processing equipment performs identity management, in relation to the use of the first and second telephony identifiers for the first user, during processing of the at least one SMS message.

Device and method for using appropriate telephone number for call connection

A telephone sends, in accordance with a user's instruction, a call connection request that includes a source telephone number and a destination telephone number to a connecting device or VoIP server device that corresponds to the source telephone number. Management server device, upon identifying a set of a source telephone number and a destination telephone number that is more appropriate than a set of those included in the call connection request, sends a notice to the telephone to prompt a user to change the telephone numbers. The connecting device or VoIP server device that establishes a call connection in accordance with the call connection request, notifies a destination telephone of a to-be-notified telephone number that is selected by the management server device based on the destination telephone number.

ESTABLISHING A VOICE CALL
20190313274 · 2019-10-10 ·

A user equipment (UE), which is able to use a plurality of different wireless access technologies, receives a request to establish a voice call. The UE determines whether voice over a first wireless access technology of the different wireless access technologies is supported, and responsive to determining that voice over the first wireless access technology is not supported, the UE attempts to establish the voice call over a second wireless access technology of the different wireless access technologies.

Electronic apparatus and method

According to one embodiment, system includes a receiver and electronic circuitry. The electronic circuitry configured to determine whether the first user is present near a first apparatus of apparatuses, determine whether the first user is present near a second apparatus of the apparatuses, establish a first communication route with the first apparatus for the communication with the first user in response to the request, if it is determined that the first user is present near the first apparatus, and establish a second communication route with the second apparatus for the communication with the first user in response to the request, if it is determined that the first user is present near the second apparatus.
