Variable phone selection options based on location
10992814 · 2021-04-27 · ·

A computing device can detect that a first call has taken place on a desk phone, which triggers recording of location-specific information indicating a location of the computing device. The location-specific information can be established as the base of the desk phone. Later, the computing device can again record location-specific information indicating a current location of the computing device and compare the current location of the computing device with the location-specific information for the location of the desk phone. When the current location of the computing device is substantially the same as the location of the desk phone, the computing device can enable computer telephony integration (CTI) controls on the computing device to control the desk phone.

A telephone control system (1) is provided with a person determination unit (110) that determines a target person based on a caller number included in a call, a position determination unit (120) that determines a position of the target person using presence information of a person in a facility, and a control unit (130) that controls a telephone allowed to ring based on the position of the target person determined by the position determination unit (120).

Forwarding messages in a wireless communications network

Handling communications in a wireless network is described. A message requesting forwarding of communications for a first user device is received. Communications include telephone calls, video calls, text based communications, and messages sent via social media. The message requesting forwarding is sent in response to detecting a battery reaching or dropping below a predefined threshold power level. The location of the first user device is determined. One or more trusted second user devices associated with the first user device is identified based on a parameter indicating a highest predefined priority. A trusted second user device is selected to automatically receive redirected forwarded communications for the first user device. The selected second user device is located within a predefined distance of the location of the first user device. Forwarding is cancelled based on detection of normal battery status, or upon receiving a manual cancellation notification.

A communications system according to certain embodiments includes a mobile device and a second type of communications system, such as a landline telephone system, that share usage information. The shared information can include call logs of in-coming and out-going calls, missed calls, text messages, address book information, GPS data, internet browsing data, and the like.

Fowarding messages in a wireless communications network

Systems, methods and computer program products for handling communications in a wireless network are described. A message requesting forwarding of communications for a first user device is received. A location of the first user device is determined. One or more second user devices associated with the first user device is identified. A second user device is selected to receive forwarded communications for the first user device. The selected second user device is located within a predefined distance of the location of the first user device. In example implementations, the one or more second user devices are trusted user devices.

Conference system and method for switching connection terminal thereof

A conference system and a method of switching a connection terminal in the conference system are provided. The conference system according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a web conference server configured to receive a request for switching a connection terminal from a first terminal and acquire identification information of a second terminal included in the request for switching a connection terminal; and an audio conference server configured to process a connection of the second terminal to an audio conference and transmit identification information of the second terminal to the web conference server, wherein the web conference server compares the identification information of the second terminal acquired from the first terminal with the identification information of the second terminal received from the audio conference server and updates participant information of the audio conference, which is mapped with participant information of the web conference.

Method for operating a communication system, telecommunication apparatus and computer program product

If telecommunication devices in a group are associated with different network technologies, a use status of one telecommunication terminal in the group is still transmitted to a second telecommunication terminal of the group. Thus, for example, a busy signal is output by one device of the group even if the telephone call is conducted using another telecommunication terminal of the group.

TELEPHONE NETWORK SYSTEM AND METHOS

Systems for and methods of delivering telephone calls using the combination of a data channel and a voice channel are disclosed. A data channel connection with the telephone handset may provide pre-call information used to set up incoming and outgoing calls which are ultimately connected using a voice channel. Use of the pre-call information may permit the same handset to be associated with multiple secondary telephone numbers from which calls appear to have been made and to which calls appear to have been placed.

System and method for unified call logs with support for call continuity

Systems and methods provide a unified call log for user devices in a device group. A user device receives an invite message for an incoming call and stores first call log information including a caller identifier based on the invite message. The user device receives a status message indicating that another user device has answered the incoming call and stores second call log information including a timestamp for the status message. The user device receives a call information message for a new line between the user device and a device associated with the caller telephone number, determines that the new line is a handover call associated with the incoming call, and stores third call log information for the new line. The user device determines that the handover call on the new line is ended and generates a call log entry including information from the incoming call and the handover call.

Answering a call with client through a host

A client device may be used to initiate or answer calls using a host device connected to a network. For example, when a phone operating as a host device receives an incoming call from a network, the phone may communicate the presence of the incoming call to one or more client devices such as laptop, desktop, tablet, or wearable devices that are associated with the host device. When an answer call selection is made at a client, a call answered communication may be sent from the client device to the host device. The host device may then communicate with the network to connect the call to the host, and when the call is connected, the host may hand-off the call to the client that sent the call answered communication.
