Incoming calls are received from audio capable devices. A call processing server receives an incoming call from an audio-capable device to a destination number, and detects availability for an ancillary source device linked to the audio-capable device. A set of data is provided to the ancillary source device. The set of data specifies graphical menu options for functions supported by the call processing server. The ancillary source device provides an indication of a selection of one of the graphical menu options. In response to the indication, a call transfer for the incoming call is implemented.

Aspects of the present invention confirm that a phone number is associated with a particular phone. The phone number is confirmed to be associated with the phone by causing the phone to transmit a verification message addressed to that phone number. Receipt by the phone of the verification message confirms that the number is associated with that phone. Another aspect of the invention concerns updating the status of phones in a status list of phone numbers on a phone by sending the status list and updated status of the phone to a network server. The server monitors the status of at least one of the phones in the status list and transmits that status to the phone, which updated status is then displayed in a display area of the phone.

In the case of a method or an arrangement for the automatic start up of a first communication terminal (EG A, EG B) configured for voice communication on at least one second communication terminal (CL A, CL B) configured for text communication, the voice communication between communication terminals is conveyed via at least one voice communication server (SCS) and the text communication between communication terminals is conveyed via at least one text communication server (TCS). The at least one voice communication server (SCS) and the at least one text communication server (TICS) exchange information via at least one conversion device (GW). The start up of at least one first communication terminal (CL A, CL B) is effected via the at least one text communication server (TCS), the at least one conversion device (GW) and the at least one voice communication server (SCS) to at least one second voice communication terminal (EG A, EG B).

Disclosed are a mobile terminal, and an incoming screen display method thereof. The mobile terminal comprises: a communication unit configured to perform a communication with a transmitting terminal and/or a community server; and a controller configured to download a sender's content by requesting search for the sender's content from the community server when a call request is received from the transmitting terminal, and configured to display the downloaded content.

The system and method identify contact information for a first party. The contact information for the first party includes a plurality of communication endpoints of the first party and a plurality of communication applications for the plurality of communication endpoints of the first party. For example, the plurality of communication endpoints may be a home phone and a cell phone of the first party. The plurality of communication applications may be voice, video, text, and/or virtual reality applications of the first party. An electronic communication request is received from the first party to the second party. In response to receiving the electronic communication request from the first party to the second party, a first communication endpoint of the plurality of communication endpoints for the first party and a first communication application of the plurality of communication applications of the first party is selected based on a rule.

A mobile device, comprising: a processor; and a memory including instructions that when executed by the processor cause it to perform the steps of: receiving a user selection to automatically enter an inactive mode in response to an action within the mobile device indicating the device is being used in a moving vehicle; receiving a communication from a wireless communication module; if the mobile device is not in inactive mode, providing a notification to the user that a communication has been received; if the mobile device is in inactive mode, transmitting an away message via the wireless module.

Methods and computing systems for sharing content between related devices in a cellular network are described. A first device receives content from an external content source via a wireless connection, and causes presentation of the content on an output device of the first device. The first device retrieves information for one or more related devices that utilize the same telephone number the first device for sending and receiving at least cellular communications via the cellular network. The first device enables sharing of the content with at least one related device of the one or more related devices.

An apparatus is capable of sharing information through a presence service in a communication network and capable of providing presence information of a Mobile Station (MS). The apparatus extracts at least one of application information and contents indication information from an application in execution. Presence information is generated that includes at least one of the application information and the contents indication information, and transmitting the presence information to a presence server.

Communications channels between systems can be managed such that unnecessary use of the channels is limited. A computer system can initiate a request to establish communications channels between a client device and the computer system. A notification is sent to the client device, which causes the client device to prompt the user to either accept the request or reschedule the requested establishing of the communications channel.

A system for alerting individuals when a user is a participant of a conference call is provided. The system has a software application downloadable to a one user device associated with a user, wherein the a user device comprises an audio or video interface that allows the user to participate on a conference call, and wherein the software application is configured to detect if the user is on the conference call, a communication interface, and a cue in communication with the software application via the communication interface, wherein the cue is configured to receive an input from software application when the user is on the conference call, and in response, trigger the cue so that the individual is alerted that the user is on a conference call.
