A call processing server receives an incoming call from an audio-capable device to a destination number, and detects availability for an ancillary source device linked to the audio-capable device. A set of data is provided to the ancillary source device. The set of data specifies graphical menu options for functions supported by the call processing server. The ancillary source device provides an indication of a selection of one of the graphical menu options. In response to the indication, a call transfer for the incoming call is implemented.

Receipt by the phone of the verification message confirms that the number is associated with that phone. Another aspect of the invention concerns updating the status of phones in a status list of phone numbers on a phone by sending the status list and updated status of the phone to a network server. The server monitors the status of at least one of the phones in the status list and transmits that status to the phone, which updated status is then displayed in a display area of the phone.

In response to receiving the electronic communication request from the first party to the second party, a first communication endpoint of the plurality of communication endpoints for the first party and a first communication application of the plurality of communication applications of the first party is selected based on a rule.

The system has a software application downloadable to a one user device associated with a user, wherein the a user device comprises an audio or video interface that allows the user to participate on a conference call, and wherein the software application is configured to detect if the user is on the conference call, a communication interface, and a cue in communication with the software application via the communication interface, wherein the cue is configured to receive an input from software application when the user is on the conference call, and in response, trigger the cue so that the individual is alerted that the user is on a conference call.
