Conferencing and meeting implementations with advanced features
Meeting and conferencing systems and methods are implemented in a variety of manners. Consistent with one embodiment of the present disclosure, a method for operating an audio conference system that includes at least one logic circuit and a caller interface involves receiving incoming telephony calls at the caller interface. A logic circuit is used to authenticate incoming telephony calls. Menu options are provided to authenticated, incoming telephony calls. In response to a selection of the menu options, an incoming telephony call is prompted to select a callback number. The logic circuit monitors for a trigger event. A participant is called back using the selected call back number in response to detecting the trigger event. The called-back participant is then placed into a conference.
Request to hand over a session between a mobile communication device and a customer premises equipment
Methods, systems, and apparatus can be used to provide handover of on-hold sessions in converged networks. In various example implementations, an on-hold session between a mobile communication device and a fixed packet network-connected peer CPE can be handed over from a fixed packet domain to a cellular domain, and vice versa. In various example implementations, an on-hold session between a mobile communication device and a PSTN-connected peer CPE can be handed over from a fixed packet domain to a cellular domain, and vice versa.
Managing data streams for a communication network
The present application details methods and systems for facilitating within a network-based communication system, a communication session between a group of network devices. For example, the network device receives incoming data streams from other network devices in the communication session. The network device also sends an outgoing data stream to the other network devices in the communication session. Further, the network device combines the incoming data stream with the outgoing data stream and presents the combined data stream to a user.
Conference System
A conference system, capable of reliably managing a connection state of a discussion unit and a control unit and continuously acquiring information from the discussion unit when a connection abnormality occurs, is provided.
A conference system S includes a control unit 1 and a discussion unit 2, a running packet is repeatedly transmitted and received between both units, the running packet includes a counter flag, the control unit includes a CU communication portion 11, a CU storage portion 13, and a CU control portion 16, the discussion unit includes a DU control portion 26, the DU control portion increments the count value of the counter flag, and each time the running packet is received from the discussion unit, the CU control portion compares a count value stored in the CU storage portion and the count value of the counter flag included in the running packet received from the discussion unit.
RELAYING DEVICE, METHOD OF RELAYING COMMUNICATION PACKET AND VOICE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
[Problem] To achieve a voice communication system which communicates between two networks that use partially overlapping address spaces.
[Solution] According to the present invention, first and second networks are connected to one another by means of a gateway device provided with: a first protocol stack which manages transmission and reception addresses of communication packets in the first network; a second protocol stack which manages transmission and reception addresses of communication packets in the second network; and a call control unit which, upon reception of a communication packet from either network, determines the transfer destination network and transfer destination address of the packet on the basis of call destination information included in the packet.
Audio stream arrangement
Conference systems are often installed in plenary halls and comprise a plurality of microphones for participants of a discussion, whereby the speech signals of the participants are received by the microphones, amplified by the conference system and distributed to the other participants of the discussion. An audio stream arrangement (1) is proposed comprising: a plurality of audio devices (2), whereby each audio device (2) is adapted to provide an audio stream and whereby each audio device (2) comprises an audio device network interface (8) for transmitting its audio stream over a network (5), a control device (4), whereby the control device (4) is adapted to send a command over the network (5) to any of the audio devices (2) to set the audio device (2) in an active state, whereby the audio device (2) in the active state transmits its audio stream over the network (5), a processing device (3) for processing the audio streams from the active audio devices (2), whereby the processing device (3) comprises a processing device network interface (9) for receiving the audio streams from the network (5) and a mixing unit (11) with a plurality of input channels (12) and an output channel (13), whereby each input channel (12) can be assigned to a audio stream from one active audio device (2) and whereby the mixing unit (11) is operable to mix the audio streams from the plurality of input channels (12) into a common audio stream and to output the common audio stream to the output channel (13), whereby the audio streams from the active audio devices (2) to the processing device are transmitted by a multicast transmission.
HANDOVER OF ON-HOLD SESSION BETWEEN FIXED PACKET NETWORK AND CELLULAR NETWORK
Methods, systems, and apparatus can be used to provide handover of on-hold sessions in converged networks. In various example implementations, an on-hold session between a mobile communication device and a fixed packet network-connected peer CPE can be handed over from a fixed packet domain to a cellular domain, and vice versa. In various example implementations, an on-hold session between a mobile communication device and a PSTN-connected peer CPE can be handed over from a fixed packet domain to a cellular domain, and vice versa.
Effective presence for push-to-talk-over-cellular (PoC) networks
A system and method for providing effective presence for Push-to-talk-over-Cellular (PoC) networks, wherein one or more servers performs an effective presence delivery method that reduces presence notifications delivered to mobile units participating in advanced voice services, while ensuring that the presence notifications relevant to the mobile units are available when the advanced voice services are invoked by the mobile units. The presence notifications are used to indicate a change in network presence of the mobile units. In addition, the presence notifications are used to indicate a change in self-availability status of the mobile units.
Method and corresponding device for managing the set-up of a communication between a calling terminal and a group of terminals sharing one and the same public identity
A method and a terminal are provided for commanding a set-up of a communication between the terminal and a group of terminals associated with one and the same shared public identity. The method includes a step of the terminal issuing, via a communication network, a communication request intended for the shared public identity; and a step of sending to a management server a request to obtain an item of information representing the number and the state of the terminals in the group of terminals associated with the shared public identity. Following reception of the item of information from the server, the terminal returns the item of information to a user of the terminal.
