SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING SPOOFING OF AT LEAST ONE IDENTIFIER
20200404098 · 2020-12-24 ·

A system and method for determining spoofing of at least one identifier are described, the identifier being intended for the use of a communication device, during communication between a first communication terminal and a second communication terminal. The method can be implemented by a device for determining spoofing of at least one identifier. The method can include receiving a signaling message of the communication from the first communication terminal and intended for the second communication terminal, the signaling message including at least one identifier and at least one first item of certification data, obtaining at least one second item of certification data on the basis of the at least one received identifier, comparing the at least one first item of certification data with said at least one second item of certification data, and transmitting at least the message to the second terminal on the basis of the result of the comparison.

Virtual telephone extension

The present disclosure is directed to a method and system for routing communications. A plurality of communications-enabled devices are coupled to a communications network. Each communications-enabled device has a device identifier. A user-programmable database associates each of a plurality of user identifiers with a device identifier. A router circuit is coupled to the communications network through a portal communication device having a portal identifier. A user designates a destination user identifier when making a communication. The router circuit switches the call, directing the call to a destination device identifier responsive to the user-programmable database association between the destination user identifier and a device identifier. According to certain aspects, communications are directed to users and are routed to associated equipment, a user identifier serving as a virtual extension number. Users remotely program the database to direct their communications to communications-enabled devices at various destinations.

POTS telephony over high speed data networks

Novel tools and techniques are provided for delivering plain old telephone service (POTS) telephony over high speed data networks. In particular, various embodiments provide tools and techniques for concurrent transmission of POTS voice signals and data signals over the same wire(s) of high-speed data lines or data cables. Various systems and methods might, in some instances, utilize upbanding or rebanding of the POTS voice band to a higher frequency band above the data stream band spectrum for transport of voice concurrent with data over the same wire(s) in the cable. The system might comprise interface devices at either end of a cable segment, one interface device to reband the voice signal and to combine the voice signal with the data signal for each dual-transport wire in the cable, and another interface device at the other end to separate the voice signal from the data signal.

Prioritized Call Sessions

A local network call handling device is configured to establish multiple concurrent call sessions between local network end devices and an external network. When a prioritized end device attempts to establish a call session, the call handling device may initially determine if a first call session identifier is available. If so, the call session can be established using that first identifier. If the first identifier is in use for a call session of another end device, the call handling device may either use a different call session identifier for the prioritized end device session or may drop a pre-existing call session to free an identifier for use in connection with the prioritized end device.

Network apparatus comprising a base station and a docking station, and respective base station and docking station

A network apparatus (1) including a base station (10) having a first interface (12); a docking station (20) connectable with the base station (10) and having a second interface (22); and at least one transmission module of a plurality of interchangeable transmission modules (13a, 13b) configured to be connected to the base station (10) or to the docking station (20), wherein the transmission modules (13a, 13b) have network interfaces compatible with both the first interface (12) and the second interface (22).

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INTERFACING ANALOG PAGE PARTY SYSTEM TO INTERNET PROTOCOL PAGE PARTY SYSTEM
20200228661 · 2020-07-16 ·

An audio bridge unit is provided for connecting a conventional analog page/party station in an analog page/party system to IP-based page/party stations that employ multicast Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology to support page/party communications between analog page/party stations and the VoIP page/party stations. The audio bridge unit converts page and/or party audio line(s) to multicast channel(s). The audio bridge unit analog interfaces for its respective page and/or party lines, and each analog interface is assigned to an independent multicast channel on which it will transmit and receive full duplex audio between an analog page/party station and one or more IP-based page/party stations. The audio bridge unit provides the ability to configure the multicast group, port and Time to Live (TTL) setting for each of the analog channels associated with the page and/or party lines.

PROCESSING MESSAGES WITH A DEVICE SERVER OPERATING IN A TELEPHONE

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a computer-readable storage medium in a telephone having computer instructions to execute a web server application in the telephone. The web server application can be operable to detect an incoming plain old telephone service call, identify a calling party identifier from the incoming plain old telephone service call, and direct one of a plurality of devices detected by web server application to present the calling party identifier. Other embodiments are disclosed.
