According to one or more embodiments, a telecommunication system includes a call routing circuit configured to receive and route calls and data transmissions from a plurality of telecommunication devices. The telecommunication system also includes a processing circuit for monitoring business and personal use of telecommunication devices associated with a client account. The processing circuit is configured to maintain a log of calls and data transmissions routed by the call-routing circuit for the plurality of telecommunication devices. The processing circuit is further configured to use a set of classification functions in a policy of the client account to determine whether each of the identified first set of calls and data transmissions are business related or personal based on characteristics of each of the first set of calls and data transmissions.

A system including a server coupled to a wireless network, the server comprising a wireless interface adapted to transmit and receive wireless signals, one or more processors coupled to the wireless interface, the one or more processors adapted to: detect a registration request sent from a wireless device to a home location register (HLR) over which the server has authority to control, the request indicating an International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) associated with a subscriber identity module (SIM) card in the wireless device, send a reply to the wireless device in response to a determination that the IMSI is associated with a subscriber account that has not been activated, wherein the reply includes a web link to be displayed on the wireless device, receive a message from the wireless device when the web link displayed on the wireless device is subscriber activated, the message identifying characteristics of the wireless device, send a sequence of webpages to the wireless device, the webpages providing a customized activation process for establishing the subscriber account based on identified characteristics of the wireless device, and receive information related to the subscriber account from the wireless device in response to the webpages to thereby establish and activate the subscriber account.

A Toll-Free Management Platform (TFMP) includes methods and systems for number administration, customer administration, call management services, texting services and text registry, and a smart services registry. The TFMP may allow users to receive through a web-based interface, an activate request from a user, wherein the request includes at least a customer record template reference and an indication of when to active a toll-free telecommunications number associated with the request. The request may include at least one IP address datum associated with the toll-free telecommunications number. A user interface may allow activating a toll-free number, and users may access the TFMP to create and access existing templates of toll-free call routing templates, and utilize a routing tree engine to create customized call routing trees for the toll-free numbers of interest to the user.

Methods, servers and systems for directly accessing and modifying charging information maintained within a telecommunications operator's business and operating systems' infrastructure from user equipment. A mobile application server may receive a charging request from a user equipment, identify a relevant charging system based on the received request, send a charging request to the identified charging system for processing, receive a first response message including charging information from the identified charging system, generate a second response message based on the charging information included in the first response message, and send the generated second response message to the user equipment. The received charging request may include various types of information, including information for transferring cost or billing information from a first billing category to a second billing category.

A telecommunications service provider agrees to a pre-paid plan including phone, text and data services, which it provides to a user through her mobile device. The provider's computer system then sends a notification to the user's mobile device that refers to benefits and contains a launch prompt. When the launch prompt is selected by the user, an application program is automatically launched in the mobile device, or a browser in the mobile device is automatically navigated to a website, which prompts the user to identify herself using minimum personal information (e.g., first and last name, date of birth and postal code.) In response, the mobile device is then signaled by the computer system of the telecommunications service provider to display to the user an offer of i) a pre-bundled group of, or ii) an individually selectable variety of, products or services (the benefits.) This disclosure is directed to techniques for directly managing, via a cellular modem device, an in-home Internet service subscription plan for using an in-home Internet service from a wireless carrier network. The cellular modem device may facilitate adjustment of the in-home Internet subscription plan by monitoring Internet service usage at the cellular modem device and then comparing a monitored Internet service usage with a corresponding threshold value. Based on this comparison, the cellular modem device may present to the subscriber a selection that correspond to different adjustments in the subscription plan. The cellular modem device may then send a request for adjustment to Internet service provider based on a user-entered selection and a notification is thereafter received by the cellular modem device for the adjustment of the subscription plan by the Internet service provider.

A method including: receiving a user report dataset indicating fraudulent activity corresponding to a phone number; responsive to receiving the user report dataset, identifying a record in a database corresponding to the phone number; and tagging the record to identify the phone number as being associated with fraudulent activity.
