This disclosure provides methods, services, and platforms that automatically prompt mobile phone users to add contact information to their phone book after a triggering event such as calling a phone number. The methods, services, and platforms allow mobile network operators to provide a service that allows businesses to potentially have their numbers added to the phonebook of a mobile phone after a disconnected call.

Example embodiments relate to a user equipment that can receive a command to turn on the user equipment. In response to determining that the user equipment has not been initialized, and prior to displaying a graphical user interface listing a Wi-Fi network to which the user equipment can connect, the user equipment presents a graphical user interface that displays an option to activate a cellular service provided by a mobile network operator entity, but does not display an option to activate the cellular service at a subsequent time.

An apparatus enables communication between a user device and a communication server. The apparatus receives a device identifier of the user device and determines after searching a device-to-token database that the device identifier is not associated with any device communication token. The apparatus activates a predetermined application on the user device, and thereafter receives a device communication token of the predetermined application. A mapping of the device communication token with the device identifier is stored in the device-to-token database after which a communication account is created for the user device on a communication server. A login credential for the communication account is sent to the user device in a message addressed to the predetermined application and transmitted via a message server. The predetermined application on the user device receives the message, and thereafter automatically logs in to the communication server according to the login credential in the message.

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are provided for virtualizing a reprogrammable universal integrated circuit chip (UICC) in a connected device's operating system. In one embodiment, an integrated cellular modem in the connected device is configured to use a simple protocol to communicate with the reprogrammable UICC. The protocol may be implemented in a way that allows cellular modem vendors to easily support such functionality and allow original equipment manufacturers to upgrade connected devices already deployed in the field.

A wireless communication network includes a testing environment that comprises a plurality of nodes. One or more nodes of the wireless communication network are selected for performing at least one of (i) one or more tests or (ii) one or more procedures. A listing of a plurality of subscriber identity modules (SIMs) provisioned in a home location register for use in the testing environment is provided on a testing platform. Based upon the one or more nodes, a SIM is selected for use in accessing the one or more nodes. Based upon the SIM, data from the at least one of (i) one or more tests or (ii) one or more procedures is provisioned with respect to a primary key of the SIM. The at least one of (i) one or more tests or (ii) one or more procedures is performed with respect to the one or more nodes.

A system for use with a mobile cellular device comprising an Internet browser and an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) card. The eSIM card stores an application and a first profile. The system includes a web server configured to generate a web portal comprising a plurality of service plans. The first profile establishes communication over a first network with the web server, which transmits the web portal to the Internet browser over the first network. The web portal receives a selection of one of the service plans from the Internet browser. The web server sends the selection to a subscription manager configured to select an operational profile based on the selection and cause the operational profile to be transmitted to the application. The mobile cellular device is configured to communicate over a second network using the operational profile after the operational profile has been received and activated by the application.

Apparatuses, methods, and computer readable storage media are provided for implementing a trusted subscription management platform. An example server device is configured to transmit, to a trusted UI client of a mobile station, information regarding a set of virtual SIM cards associated with the mobile station, and receive, from the trusted UI client of the mobile station, a request to provision a particular virtual SIM card. The server device is further configured to initiate, by an SM-SR module and via a trusted baseband client of the mobile device, a secure proxy channel between the server device and a profile manager that hosts the particular virtual SIM card, and transmit, via the secure proxy channel and to the profile manager, an instruction regarding the particular virtual SIM card. Apparatuses, methods, and systems are provided for configuring a SIM-less System-on-Chip (S2oC) with integrated reprogrammable cellular network connectivity. Digitally issued Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards may be digitally issued by a remote server and downloaded and managed by the S2oC. A virtual SIM card container may be packaged in the S2oC and hosts an identity manager used by a plurality of applications residing in the multi-core processor of the S2oC. A virtual modem with a custom communication protocol allows the multi-core processor applications to exchange data with the virtual SIM card container.
