Systems and methods for allocating and pricing alternative network access resources with reserve prices

A method for allocating and pricing access to alternative access networks may include: inputting, by one or more parties, needs for alternative network access and representative values for satisfying the needs; setting, by providers of alternative network access, reserve prices for access to each of access point in the alternative network; generating a solution based on a mixed integer program to maximize value created by allocation of alternative network access; and allocating alternative network access to the one or more parties based on the mixed integer program solution.

A process for selecting an optimal individual user solution including an optimal rate allocation and associated price for a predetermined bandwidth of cellular network resources includes application of an iterative process and selection from multiple proposed user solutions. The inputs to the iterative process include at least an initial user bid, an initial network rate allocation, a generated user utility function and the cost data. The user utility function includes multiple application user functions. Optimal solution selection includes comparing each multiple proposed user rate allocation with the initial network rate allocation for the user and selecting the closest multiple proposed user rate allocation to the initial network rate allocation. The process may be applied to aggregated cellular carrier scenarios.

Global data service device connection manager

A global data service connection manager determines a shared data account balance for data available to a user as a function of data amounts previously made available to a shared data system by the first user for the use of other registered users. In response to a request by the first user to execute a data transaction by using data from the shared system, the shared data account balance and the data available at the brokered purchase price are automatically arbitrated to acquire at least one of data from a wireless service account of another registered user of the shared system in an amount that does not exceed the first user's shared data account balance, and data purchased from a wireless service account of another registered user of the shared system in a purchased amount that does not exceed data available at a brokered purchase price.

Wireless Network System

A system and method for negotiating Internet access between a user and one of a plurality of Internet connection providers. Users can obtain Internet bandwidth, for example, through a server or website or by direct communications with an Internet access point such as, for example, a WIFI access point.

Techniques for payment-based network transmissions

Techniques and apparatus for providing payment-based transmission processes are described. In one embodiment, for example, a network node may include a storage device, and logic, at least a portion of the logic implemented in circuitry coupled to the storage device. The logic may operate to provide a routing query to transmit information over a network, the routing query comprising at least one destination node for the information and a transmission value, receive at least one bid from at least one bidding node in response to the routing query, determine a path through the network to transmit the information anonymously based on the at least one bid that corresponds to the transmission value, and transmit the information at least partially anonymously via the path within a network packet encrypted in a number of layers of encryption corresponding to a number of intermediary nodes in the path. Other embodiments are described.

MANAGING RESOURCE REQUESTS THAT EXCEED RESERVED RESOURCE CAPACITY

A computer system that provides clients access to pooled resources in order to provide computing or data storage services may receive service requests (which explicitly or implicitly include requests for pooled resources), may service at least some of those requests, and may determine pricing for the serviced requests. The pricing for each request may be dependent on whether it was serviced using a portion of a resource pool that was reserved for the use of the client on whose behalf it was received or using burst capacity (e.g., unreserved or otherwise idle capacity within the resource pool). Pricing for the use of reserved capacity may be fixed, regardless of the amount of reserved capacity used. Pricing for burst capacity may depend on actual use, and may be demand-based (e.g., using a spot-market-based dynamic pricing model). Clients with reserved capacity may optionally request access to burst capacity.

NETWORK RESOURCES BROKERING SYSTEM AND ENFORCEMENT FUNCTION NETWORK ENTITY
20180220008 · 2018-08-02 ·

The disclosure relates to a network resources brokering system, comprising: a communication network with at least one enforcement function for preferential treatment and charging; and a brokering entity, configured to receive requests from a plurality of network entities for providing preferential treatment during usage of chargeable resources within a predefined charging period, each request comprising an electronic bid value competing with other network entities for preferential treatment during the usage of chargeable resources in the charging period, wherein the brokering entity is configured to rank each network entity from the plurality of network entities into one of a multiplicity of success classes based upon their electronic bid values offered and to interwork with the at least one enforcement function for preferential treatment and charging.

System and method for distributing mobile data

A global cross-carrier system for distributing mobile data. A sharer utilizes a mobile application to access the data share server to enable sharing of any unused data in the sharer's data plan with a wireless network carrier. A borrower associated with another carrier can utilize a mobile application to access the data share server to enable borrowing of any available data shared by other users. A data share server might optionally purchase data from one or more carriers, the one or more carriers need not be located within the same country. The sharer has an option of purchasing a data plan from the data share server. A borrower has the option of purchasing on-demand data in the form of a session if there are no sharers in the data pool.

Systems and methods for allocating alternative network access resources

A method of allocating access to alternative access networks may include: inputting, by one or more parties, needs for alternative network access and representative values for satisfying the needs; and allocating, by providers of alternative network access, alternative network access to the one or more parties based on the stated needs and values.
