GLOBAL DATA SERVICE DEVICE CONNECTION MANAGER
A global data service connection manager determines a shared data account balance for data available to a user as a function of data amounts previously made available to a shared data system by the first user for the use of other registered users. In response to a request by the first user to execute a data transaction by using data from the shared system, the shared data account balance and the data available at the brokered purchase price are automatically arbitrated to acquire at least one of data from a wireless service account of another registered user of the shared system in an amount that does not exceed the first user's shared data account balance, and data purchased from a wireless service account of another registered user of the shared system in a purchased amount that does not exceed data available at a brokered purchase price.
Driver-controllable traffic signal
Traffic at an intersection, or other portion of a road, is detected, and the stop/go traffic signal apparatus at the intersection, or other portion is controlled based on vehicle types in the detected traffic. A vehicle type may be determined based on information collected by that vehicle's onboard telematics unit, or with a user's device in communication therewith. An input may be received from a user device, onboard the vehicle, to request changing the current stop/go configuration of the traffic signal. The request may be processed based on the determined vehicle type to determine whether or nor to change the traffic signal in response to the request. The request may be accompanied by an offer of money, and if the request is not granted, the user device may forward another request associated with a different offer.
Trading exchange for local data services
The present invention provides a method and system for trading exchange to facilitate local data services for roaming users. The trading exchange includes an ecosystem of a plurality of operators, having home network (HPMN) and visited network (VPMN) operators. The trading exchange further includes a gateway for facilitating local data services for users, where the user is roaming in VPMN, by configuring a Domane Name Resolution (DNS) of the VPMN's Gateway General Packet Radio System (GPRS) Support Node (GGSN) for its users. The trading exchange further includes an interface maintaining a bi-directional connection with the gateway to exchange information related to the roaming services, and a bi-directional connection with users via their mobile devices' user interface.
CLUSTERING AND ADJUDICATION TO DETERMINE A RECOMMENDATION OF MULTIMEDIA CONTENT
A method and apparatus can include a system processor and a system controller. The system controller can retrieve data from at least one database, the data including information associated with at least one of subscribers, multimedia content, and subscriber interaction with customer premises equipment, and transmit, to a customer premises equipment of a subscriber, a recommendation of multimedia content. The system processor can formulate an input dataset from the retrieved data, perform nonlinear clustering on the input dataset to formulate subscriber and multimedia content clusters having similarities between elements therein, and determine the recommendation of multimedia content based on a metric distance between vector elements of the formulated subscriber and multimedia content clusters and the metric distance crossing a threshold.

Base station that confirm the intention of a user to continue a call
A radio communication control device accepts a call-up from a radio communication terminal and includes a unit configured to detect the degree of jamming in a cell, a unit configured to confirm the intention of a user of a terminal concerned as to whether the call-up is continued regardless of addition of an extra to the user's telephone call charge when the call-up has been made from a radio communication terminal in the cell concerned in a specific jammed state, a unit configured to block the call-up concerned in accordance with the confirmed intention of the user of the terminal concerned and a unit configured to change charge setting so as to add an extra to the user's telephone call charge when the call-up has not been blocked in the specific jammed state.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING OFFLOAD FROM ONE RADIO ACCESS NETWORK TO ANOTHER
A method of managing data traffic offload from a radio access network may include: determining a location of a mobile device; and identifying, based on data traffic offload requirements of a network operator and capabilities of alternative network providers, one or more alternative networks configured to be accessed by the mobile device at the determined location.
Network information extracting system and method thereof
A network information extracting system and method thereof are disclosed. A network message packet transmitted from a communications server is received by a router. The router includes a processor, a memory and a comparator. The processor disassembles the network message packet and extracts company information and a first message. The comparator compares the company information and a company list stored in the storage module. When the company information matches to one of the company lists, the first message is transmitted to a handheld device; when the company information does not match the list, a second message is added to the first message and transmitted to the handheld device.
System and methods for enabling sponsored data access across multiple carriers
A service and system for providing sponsored data, wherein the data usage is not charged to a mobile subscriber but, rather, paid for by a sponsor. The system and service is mobile-operator neutral and exists separate and apart from any given mobile network. The system provides, to mobile network operators and sponsoring entities, a single domain name (TLD). The TLD is white-listed, in wild-card form, by the mobile network operator so that the operator will know to zero rate any data traffic associated with the TLD. Sponsoring entities are also provided with a unique identifier. The unique identifier is concatenated, as a pre-pend, to the TLD, thereby generating a FQDN that (1) identifies associated data traffic as being sponsored and (2) identifies the entity sponsoring the data. The system monitors data usage associated with each FQDN and prepares a bill that charges each sponsoring entity for the data usage associated with the particular FQDN.
ALTERNATIVE ROAMING PROVIDER
According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for serving a roaming mobile terminal in an HLR of a mobile communication system, wherein the method comprises steps of: a. determining location information of the mobile terminal based on a location update request of the mobile terminal as provided by an MSC of a country or region where the mobile terminal is located; b. when determining, based on location information of the mobile terminal, that the mobile terminal is in roaming and located in a predetermined roaming country or predetermined roaming region, generating a first Original-CSI of the mobile terminal, wherein a predetermined address entry in the first Original-CSI includes address information of an ARP proxy engine; c. transmitting the first Original-CSI to the MSC. According to the solution of the present invention, the user may simultaneously enjoy roaming services provided by its home service provider and the non-home service provider without changing the SIM card during roaming; besides, the user may select a service provider providing a roaming service at a lower price from among a plurality of service providers, thereby reducing the user's roaming charge.
