A method and apparatus are provided for presenting multimedia content to a caller and/or a called party in association with a telephone call. Content may be presented pre-ring (before the called party's telephone rings), in-call, and/or post-call. Content presented to a party may be related to or selected by another party participating in the call, or may be related to or selected by a third party (e.g., an advertiser that paid for the ability to have its content presented). Presented content may be actuable, and allow a caller to change the destination of a call, take advantage of an offer presented to him, redeem a coupon, schedule or queue a subsequent call, etc. To find a desired destination party, a caller may initiate a manual or automatic search of his local contacts (on his telephone) and/or a central or global directory or contact list.

A method for providing real time data network usage information using an SPR includes receiving a request for real time data network usage information. The method further includes, in response to the request, effecting a data change for the subscriber in the SPR. The method further includes, at the SPR, in response to the data change, sending a notification of the change to a policy and changing rules function (PCRF). The method further includes, at the PCRF, in response to the notification of the data change, requesting real time data network usage information from at least one policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF) serving the subscriber. The method further includes, at the PCRF, receiving the data network usage information from the at least one serving PCEF. The method further includes providing an indication of the real time data network usage information to the SPR.

A method for providing real time data network usage information using an SPR includes receiving a request for real time data network usage information. The method further includes, in response to the request, effecting a data change for the subscriber in the SPR. The method further includes, at the PCRF, in response to the notification of the data change, requesting real time data network usage information from at least one policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF) serving the subscriber. The method further includes, at the PCRF, receiving the data network usage information from the at least one serving PCEF. The method further includes providing an indication of the real time data network usage information to the SPR.
Handling insufficient account balance of subscribers
A system, method, and computer readable medium comprising instructions for handling insufficient account balance of subscribers in a mobile communications network is disclosed. A request for communication is received from a mobile station. A determination is made as to whether a subscriber of the mobile station has an insufficient account balance. If the subscriber has an insufficient account balance, the request is withheld and the mobile station is notified by a short message.
