Self Adapting Alert Device
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed that allow an electronic device to autonomously adapt one or more user alerts to the current operating environment of the electronic device. For example, some embodiments may include a method comprising providing a plurality of alert devices in an electronic device, determining an operating environment of the electronic device using a sensor of the electronic device, and actuating at least one of the plurality of alert devices that corresponds to the determined operating environment.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR NOTIFICATION OF MESSAGE RECEPTION ACCORDING TO PROPERTY OF RECEIVED MESSAGE
Disclosed is a method a method by an electronic device, including receiving a message, analyzing text contents comprising a plurality of words included in the received message, outputting a first predetermined notification for notifying an arrival of the received message if a specific criteria and a notification configuration related to the specific criteria are satisfied based on the analyzing, outputting a second predetermined notification for notifying the arrival of the received message if the specific criteria is not satisfied based on the analyzing, and outputting the second predetermined notification for notifying the arrival of the received message if the specific criteria is satisfied and the notification configuration related to the specific criteria is not satisfied based on the analyzing, wherein each of the first predetermined notification and the second predetermined notification includes at least one of a sound notification, a haptic notification and a light notification, and wherein the first predetermined notification is different from the second predetermined notification
System and method for ring suppression
A system for ring suppression facilitates notification and handling of unwanted calls as desired by a recipient, and in particular without disturbing the recipient. A new social dimension of call presentation logic is now available to callers. A telephony device is configured to receive an incoming call. The incoming call includes a calling line identity (CLI). On the telephony device, individual contacts in an address book are searched for a match to the CLI. If a match is found, a first phone action is activated (such as ringing the phone). If a match is not found in the address book for the incoming CLI, a second phone action is activated (such as not ringing the phone, and displaying the CLI). In other words, a call that is not in the address book of the recipient (B party) is silenced.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING VIBRATION IN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for converting a musical element so as to provide a vibration in an electronic device. According to various embodiments of the present invention, an electronic device may comprise: a display; a vibration generation apparatus for generating a vibration; and a processor functionally connected to the display and the vibration generation apparatus, wherein the processor is configured to: select multiple frequencies, using a musical element; set at least one vibration on the basis of the selected multiple frequencies; and generate a vibration pattern on the basis of the set vibration. Various elements are possible.
WEARABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE HAVING HETEROGENEOUS DISPLAY SCREENS
Particular embodiments described herein provide for a wearable electronic device, such as a bracelet, watch, wristband or armband. One particular example implementation of a wearable electronic device may include a first display screen, a second display screen, and logic. At least a portion of the logic is implemented in hardware. The logic is configured to receive a communication over a wireless network, and to display, in the first display screen, a communication alert. The communication alert can be a graphic design. The logic is also configured to receive input data indicative of a screen transition input to view information associated with the communication, and to display, in the second display screen, the information associated with the communication. In further embodiments, the graphic design includes a notification pattern indicating one or more attributes of the communication. In further embodiments, the first and second display screens form a single display screen.
SURFACE DETECTION FOR MOBILE DEVICES
Technology for a mobile device is described. The mobile device can include a vibration motor operable to generate a vibration, and a sensor operable to capture a plurality of vibration signals that result from the vibration. The mobile device can provide the plurality of vibration signals to a model running on the mobile device. The model can include a plurality of predefined patterns that correspond to vibration signals produced by mobile devices residing on different surfaces. The mobile device can identify, using the model, a predefined pattern in the plurality of predefined patterns that substantially corresponds to the plurality of vibration signals based on a confidence level that exceeds a threshold. The mobile device can determine a type of surface on which the mobile device resides based on the predefined pattern identified using the model.
Vibratory actuator, wearable terminal, and incoming call notification function device
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a vibratory actuator the size of which can be reduced and which effectively produces vibrations felt by a user. The vibratory actuator has: a stationary body which has a curved surface section curved in a concave shape to be placed along the skin; and a movable body which is disposed on the curved surface section so as to be able to move with respect to the stationary body in a reciprocating manner along the curved surface section, thereby imparting a vibratory stimulus caused by the reciprocating motion to mechanoreceptors in the skin tissue via the curved surface section.
Alarm and monitoring system and method of operation thereof
An alarm and monitoring system including a primary device and at least one secondary device, the alarm and monitoring system including at least one controller configured to: determine whether at least one alarm event is set; establish a wireless communication between a primary device and the secondary device, when it is determined that the alarm event has been set; transmit an alarm event signal including alarm information from the primary device to the secondary device in accordance with the alarm event that is determined to have been set; generate an alarm signal by the secondary device in accordance with at least the alarm information; and render the generated alarm signal on a rendering device.
Haptic functionality for network connected devices
A system provides haptic functionality over a networked system. The system receives information from a first device registered at the networked system and determines a notification to be provided to a user based on the information. The system then selects a second device registered at the networked system and provides the notification to the user by producing a haptic effect on the second device.
Devices, methods, and graphical user interfaces for providing haptic feedback
An electronic device receives an incoming communication and determines that the device is in a first use context. In response to receiving the incoming communication, the device provides first feedback that includes a first ongoing audio output that corresponds to the first use context and a first ongoing tactile output with a first tactile output profile that corresponds to the first use context. While providing the first ongoing audio output and the first ongoing tactile output, the device detects that the electronic device is in a second use context, different from the first use context. In response to detecting that the electronic device is in the second use context, the device provides second feedback that includes a second ongoing tactile output that has a second tactile output profile that corresponds to the second use context.
