Notification channels for notifications of a computing device
A computing device is described that receives a notification generated by a notification source, determines a set of notification channels defined by the notification source, each notification channel having one or more parameters defined by the notification source, and determines a particular notification channel from the set of notification channels assigned to the notification. The computing device determines one or more parameters of the particular notification channel and outputs an indication of the notification according to the one or more parameters of the particular notification channel. In this way, a user may be provided with an indication of the manner in which a given notification is being handled by the computing device. This may provide further information on the notification itself and allow efficient interaction in light of the knowledge thereby provided.
Notification shade with animated reveal of notification indications
A computing device is described that displays a set of graphical elements in a status bar of a graphical user interface. Each graphical element corresponds to a different pending notification. While expanding a notification shade from the status bar, the device displays the graphical elements within an area of the notification shade that is adjacent to a leading edge of the notification shade. Responsive to determining that a particular notification message is newly visible, the device removes, a particular graphical element that corresponds to the particular notification message, and displays the particular graphical element within the particular notification message. In this manner, interaction with the notification area may be more efficient, as during a process of expanding or contracting this area, the user may be informed the underlying state of the set of pending notifications as a whole.
Visual effect provision method and electronic device using the same
A visual effect provision method and an electronic device using the same. The electronic device includes a display, a bezel bordering at least one side of the display, a light emitting module including multiple light sources, a light diffusing module arranged above the light emitting module to cover the light emitting module, a memory, and a processor configured to control to display an execution screen of an application on the display, determine attribute information on light to be emitted by the light emitting module based on the execution screen of the application, and emit the light by means of the light emitting module based on the attribute information on the light.
DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing including a front surface and a rear surface, a display, a communication circuit, at least one processor, and a memory. The memory stores instructions which, when executed, cause the at least one processor to receive a signal from outside of the electronic device using the communication circuit, in response to receiving the signal, display a user interface on an elongated region that extends along at least one edge region of the display, and display at least one content corresponding to the signal, while displaying the user interface or after displaying the user interface.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND RELATED METHODS FOR VISUAL INDICATION OF AN OCCURRENCE OF AN EVENT
Devices, systems, and methods are described for visually indicating an occurrence of an event. A visual indicator device is described for connection to a video communication device, the visual indicator device comprises a transparent housing, a printed circuit board having a plurality of light sources mounted thereon, and a light pipe positioned within the transparent housing between a back surface of the transparent housing and the printed circuit board, the light pipe having a flat surface and an angled surface having a range between 30 to 45 relative to the flat surface.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RING SUPPRESSION
A system for ring suppression facilitates notification and handling of unwanted calls as desired by a recipient, and in particular without disturbing the recipient. A new social dimension of call presentation logic is now available to callers. A telephony device is configured to receive an incoming call. The incoming call includes a calling line identity (CLI). On the telephony device, individual contacts in an address book are searched for a match to the CLI. If a match is found, a first phone action is activated (such as ringing the phone). If a match is not found in the address book for the incoming CLI, a second phone action is activated (such as not ringing the phone, and displaying the CLI). In other words, a call that is not in the address book of the recipient (B party) is silenced.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING A MOBILE DEVICE COVER
A host mobile device and a mobile device cover for use with the host mobile device are configured to select a light pattern and one or more light pattern parameters. The host mobile device runs a mobile application that provides a graphical preview of the selected light pattern on the mobile device cover according to the one or more light parameters. In addition, the mobile application provides a preview of a notification by causing the mobile device cover to display the selected light pattern on the lights and/or screens of the mobile device cover.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR NOTIFICATION OF MESSAGE RECEPTION ACCORDING TO PROPERTY OF RECEIVED MESSAGE
Disclosed is a method a method by an electronic device, including receiving a message, analyzing text contents comprising a plurality of words included in the received message, outputting a first predetermined notification for notifying an arrival of the received message if a specific criteria and a notification configuration related to the specific criteria are satisfied based on the analyzing, outputting a second predetermined notification for notifying the arrival of the received message if the specific criteria is not satisfied based on the analyzing, and outputting the second predetermined notification for notifying the arrival of the received message if the specific criteria is satisfied and the notification configuration related to the specific criteria is not satisfied based on the analyzing, wherein each of the first predetermined notification and the second predetermined notification includes at least one of a sound notification, a haptic notification and a light notification, and wherein the first predetermined notification is different from the second predetermined notification
