The methods and systems of the present disclosure can configure, by a microprocessor, a message from a sending user to a recipient device; set, by the microprocessor, a reduced alert for the message, where the reduced alert is set by the sending user; and send the message to the recipient device, wherein the recipient device provides the reduced alert upon receipt of the message.

The Ring and Text tones from a mobile device can be missed if the user is located outside the hearing range, away from his/her mobile device. For example, the mobile device is being charged in another room unable to hear the incoming Ring and Text tones. The embodiment of the disclosure in this invention, namely, Ring and Text Tone Notifier abbreviated RTTN is placed in every room in a house or office by replicating the ring and text tone received from the mobile device, to NOTIFY the user, by sounding and broadcasting the Ring and Text Tones in every room that the RTTN is plugged into some 110-volt wall outlet receptacles. The plugged in RTTN is designed to broadcast an audible as well as displaying any incoming Call and Text with Light Emitted Diodes (LEDs). The RTTN has two prongs adapter that plugs into any standard 110-volt wall outlet receptacles. This eliminates the use of a battery.

The present invention provides a system for managing and disabling phone ring tone profiles, the system comprising: a storage system comprising (a) a plurality of ringtones adapted to be activated when an incoming call is made; (b) at least one list of identified callers to execute at least one data processing system, said at least one data processing system comprising: an acquiring module operable to read an identifier of said incoming call or an incoming message; a detecting module operable to detect if the identifier exists in said at least one list in the system, to determine the caller from said list, and to detect how many incoming calls have been made within a predetermined period of time and a disabling module adapted to either activate or disable said ringtones.

A mobile computing device is disclosed. In some aspects, the mobile computing device may execute a first application using one or more processors, and may receive, during execution of the first application, a user selection of a shift key. The mobile computing device may transition a state of the shift key from an unlocked non-shift state to a shift state based on the user selection. The mobile computing device may change the execution of the first application to an execution of a second application, and clear the state of the shift key in response to changing the execution from the first application to the second application.

An electronic device and a method for performing a function in the electronic device are provided. The method includes recognizing that the electronic device is at a first state, the first state including the electronic device being in an overturned state or a predetermined amount of the display being covered; detecting an event in the first state; and outputting, in the first state, a visual notification associated with the detected event through a portion of the display, the portion of the display wrapping around a side edge of the electronic device. A shape of the visual notification output through the portion of the display changes while the event is maintained.

Provided is a mobile terminal having a sensor detecting movement thereof and an event processing method. The mobile terminal includes: an orientation detector for monitoring, in response to detection of an event, movement of the mobile terminal for a preset time duration to identify an orientation of the mobile terminal; and a controller for processing the event in an operating mode corresponding to the identified orientation. As a result, the user can readily switch operating modes of the mobile terminal by changing orientations thereof.

An electronic device and a method for performing a function in the electronic device are provided.
