Provided is a mobile terminal having a sensor detecting movement thereof and an event processing method. The mobile terminal includes: an orientation detector for monitoring, in response to detection of an event, movement of the mobile terminal for a preset time duration to identify an orientation of the mobile terminal; and a controller for processing the event in an operating mode corresponding to the identified orientation. As a result, the user can readily switch operating modes of the mobile terminal by changing orientations thereof.

Electronic apparatus for display of notification information, and operating method thereof

An electronic device and an operation method of providing event notification on a display of the electronic device are disclosed. The method includes detecting a notification event, determining at least one section corresponding to the notification event among a plurality of sections of an edge area extended from a main area of a display unit, and displaying a color light in the determined section.

Systems and related methods for visual indication of callee ID information for an incoming communication request in a hearing-impaired environment

Systems and methods for visually indicating an occurrence of an incoming call for the hearing impaired are disclosed. A video communication device may be configured to receive an incoming communication to at least two unique identifiers assigned by a video relay service provider. The video communication device can display a unique visual indicator pattern, which may be user-created and user-assigned to the one of the at least two unique identifiers dialed by a caller. The visual indicator pattern may be indicative of the existence an incoming call, the origin of the call, the destination device for the call, the destination ID for the call, or combinations thereof. The video communication device, when receiving an incoming call, may send a wireless notification signal to other communication devices, thereby notifying other devices that a video communication device is receiving an incoming call.

Telephone ring indicator

An incoming call indicator for a telephone is structured to detect light emitted from a light source that is already present on the telephone, and that is illuminated in response to an incoming telephone call and/or waiting message. If the telephone utilizes different on/off cadences for the light to indicate external calls, internal calls, and/or waiting messages, then the cadence is detected, and an audio or visual output device is used to emit a signal corresponding to the specific detected event.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING INTERRUPT IN PORTABLE TERMINAL

A method and an apparatus for controlling an interrupt in a portable terminal are provided. The method includes executing an application based on user's control, determining whether an event occurs during the application execution, displaying information representing the event occurrence on a screen while continuing the application execution, and determining whether to interrupt the application by the event based on user's control.

Integrated personal digital assistant device

A mobile computing device is disclosed. In some aspects, the mobile computing device may execute a first application using one or more processors, and may receive, during execution of the first application, a user selection of a shift key. The mobile computing device may transition a state of the shift key from an unlocked non-shift state to a shift state based on the user selection. The mobile computing device may change the execution of the first application to an execution of a second application, and clear the state of the shift key in response to changing the execution from the first application to the second application.

Synchronization of haptic effect data in a media stream

Haptic information in a series of frames of a media file is identified and time stamps corresponding thereto are determined in accordance with information embedded in a tag either preceding or appending the media file. The haptic effect information is automatically synchronized to the media file based on the information in one or more frames of the tag, whereby an actuator outputs the defined haptic effects in the tag in a manner synchronized with corresponding audio and/or video content of the media file.

PERMANENT DATA INDICATOR, PERMANENT-DATA-INDICATOR-MANAGING AND -ADAPTING METHODS, TERMINAL USING SAME
20180277066 · 2018-09-27 ·

A permanent data indicator and managing and adapting methods are provided. In particular, the permanent indicator is a pictogram permanently present on a screen of a terminal in active mode. The permanent indicator relates to a second datum and being able, furthermore, to form a permanent indicator relating to a first datum distinct from the second datum, the first datum being delivered by a first process implemented by the terminal. Thus, a given indicator is able to permanently inform the user of an active terminal of the value of the distinct datum, for example the permanent pictogram of a clock will indicate the time but also the time remaining to the next alarm, the weather forecast for the next 12 or 24 hours, air-quality, etc. The management of the permanent indicators will therefore be optimized.

Active cover for electronic device

Systems and methods of providing a mobile device cover are described. In some embodiments, the mobile device cover may include, for example, an acoustic sensor, a processor, and lighting devices. The processor can be operatively coupled to the acoustic sensor and the lighting devices. The acoustic sensor can be configured to receive sound generated by the mobile phone and to convert the sound into an acoustic signal. The processor can be configured to receive the acoustic signal and to determine whether the acoustic signal is similar to one of a plurality of acoustic signals previously stored on the mobile phone cover. Each of the previously stored acoustic signals can be indicative of, for example, a particular caller, a particular message sender, or a particular alert. Based on the acoustic signal determination, the processor is configured to cause lighting of the one or more lighting devices corresponding to the indicated caller, indicated message sender, or indicated alert.
